Close - it's more like blocks/pylons of clear glass or plastic. They go from the bottom of the pool to just below the surface of the water. Notice he's wearing sunglasses. They have special (i believe polarized) lenses that cut the glare on the water so he can more easily see where the blocks...
Precisely. Pretty much all of his interesting illusions on the TV show could never be done in a live setting. Not that there's anything wrong with that...smoke and mirrors kiddos...and leather pants...the leather pants are key. :D
I'd like to throw Hometown Tales into the mix - admittedly on the entertainment side of the paranormal, but the hosts seem like reasonable dudes and discuss the weird stuff that they find with a refreshingly lighthearted attitude ...and the porkroll...my lord, the porkroll! :D

Don't worry hon, I grew up in Maryland (after moving there when I was 11 from Massachusetts no less :D) and I still visit my parents down there regularly. I'll even admit that I wore my Matt Stover jersey to the Giants Superbowl party I went to this year...Go Ravens!!!!!!
