October 18, 2015 — Dr. David Jacobs

I like how there are supposedly 1000's upon 1000's of abductions happening from all different species of aliens, yet we are going on 2016 and there is not one photo or video of a real, structured UFO. Nor is there any security/surveliance footage of an abduction in process.

An interesting testimonial from the Stop Abductions Helmet website that Jacobs referred to at the end of his interview...

“I am happy to report that the Thought Screen Helmet has been performing beautifully! It’s been over six months now and NOT ONE INCIDENT! Aside from some of the naive neighborhood kids and their taunting it’s been a blissful period.” - Gene S.*

Hmm, I think it explains a lot.

*not really the name of the testifier

I thought he actually exposed himself, his limitations and biases and creepy side quite well all on his own across this episode.

The giddy glee he expressed in having engaged in the story of the molestation by aliens of a seven year old girl during the reminiscences about his "first time" speaks volumes as to what this abduction narrative by these old white men is all about. Talk about controlling the sexual narratives of women. His joy in recording this seven year old assault, devoid of any compassion or concen whatsoever at what he was describing, sad it all. This has nothing to do with helping people. It's all about him, and his theory. It's human exploitation at best. The telling of the seven year old's sexual assault i found to be more than a little disturbing. In fact i would cite that as the all time most disturbing moment of the show's history actually. I hope he never gets a chance to air his disturbing cockamamie ideas on this platform again.
Amen to all that. I raised the latter earlier in this thread. He specifically mentioned it twice, plus there was another reference later in the show also near the knuckle. This sets alarm bells ringing. I wonder what the police's view would be about some of this bloke's activities?

As I wrote in the Paracast+ show review, I don't believe the bloke should have been given air time; one sick puppy (IMO).

Gene, did it occur to you that he doesn't believe this stuff or possibly that he's just crazy?

And I completely disagree with your comment about not making money. He literally says in the interview he'd rather just sit around and watch TV all day. So why write another book unless he can profit from it?

at a $1 per book sold? less if its a kindle... Writing books about UFOs is no way to make a living, though the conference circuit might. Most of these books, especially, the really solidly researched ones, sell very few copies. I reckon its a labour of love or obsession - though with Jacobs I'd concede its possible he still commands a reasonable advance based on his first book on the topic The Threat

This question has interested me for a while ie motivation for doing this work, Id be interested in Gene and Chris' wisdom as to whether there is a living in any of this?

I found it to be an entertaining show. I think there's no way to purge the crazy stuff from UFOlogy..
It's like film-there are enlightening interesting ones being made, but schlock and pornography are in the same medium.
Throwing the baby out with the bath water is just normal ignorant human behavior.
The UFO field has never been respected , isn't respected, and may or may not be respected in future.
The only thing is to do your best and hope for the best. A filmmaker today could say that with YouTube out there and so much crap to sift through: 'what's the point of filmmaking; it will never be noticed amongst the drek?'
My point is that the real investigators can quit or keep going. Corey Goode, Billy Meier and David Jacobs aren't going anywhere.
PS Yes I know Billy Meier is not alive

I'm listening to After the Paracasr, and I was thinking about Jacobs' interview.
WHAT THE HELL???
No evidence but when Chris says something about Methuselah in the last segment, the Doctor is all, 'Um, yeah, let's not enter the no evidence zone' Not like he was a jerk through the whole show or anything..
If the aliens can control our thoughts/erase our minds/we have no defense
THEN WHAT'S THE POINT OF EVER DOING ANYTHING/why do they bother learning how to shop/what a living room is!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?? Can't they, ya know..psi blast us or shut off our breathing or make us run off of cliffs or something?
Deep breath..
Clangers..
It's gonna be ok..

Now I can listen to the rest of ATP

Billy Meier is alive...

:eek::eek::eek:
Billy Meier is alive...
Mwahahaaaa
That is some funny spooky S#*$
That totally made my Halloween

Oh crap that made me laugh so hard.
I had to freaking google that-it's just the way everyone refers to him on the show/in threads I usually am the last person to be dumb in that way. Oh man that was a good laugh.:p

That was the best After the Paracast :pit was like the early episodes of the Paracast. Stuff like that is why this is pretty much the only paranormal show that I listen to.

A couple of points. First, you have no idea how much Jacobs makes per book. Secondly, you're also guessing when it comes to royalties from Kindle sales, and you're wrong. Authors make more from Kindle sales than they do from paperback sales. And in re to making a living selling UFO books, you just need to look at someone like Nick Redfern to know it can be done.

Nick writes three or four books a year. I know something about this. Only rarely does one book pay off.

Thanks, Gene, but I was talking to LatentCauses, actually correcting him on the royalty differences between e-books and paperback.

In re to UFO/Paranormal books, no it's obviously not the path to riches for most authors. Obviously if they want to make money they're better off doing horror like Stephen King or maybe write the kind of crap you see in Fifty Shades of Grey. Maybe a book on kids going to a magic school... Clearly that's where the real money is.

Having said that, UFO books still sell, and the authors who write them don't intend on taking a loss when they do so. The other point is, UFO authors don't rely on their books in isolation to make money. They charge for speaking engagements and use other methods to generate income. The books are there to create their base.

I won't mince words. The claims from Dr. David Jacobs about possible hybrid aliens infiltrating Earth society are controversial, and his research methods are hotly disputed.

In this episode, we ask Dr. Jacobs to flesh out his views and research methodology, and how he first came to be involved in UFO abduction research. We also ask some probing questions that raise issues about the value of that research.

Our own views are fleshed out in greater detail in this week's episode of After The Paracast, an exclusive feature of The Paracast+. Check here for more information:

Introducing The Paracast+ | The Paracast — The Gold Standard of Paranormal Radio
I found this episode really difficult to listen to.. Whether or not you or Chris agree or disagree with the guest doesn't matter. It was very antagonistic and came off as disrespectful.

Not a very good example I'm afraid. He's prolific to the point of being the subject of good humoured jesting from others in the field, and I note Genes comments below.
