IRON SKY Official Theatrical Trailer

Just the very idea is hilarious. I'm willing to give it a chance. Its a independent dark comedy for Pete's sake. Nazis, flying saucers, women presidents, Udo Keir, come on ...

Some folks just don't get movies like this. I'm sure it won't be winning any Oscars, but really now, how many movies come along with flying saucers and Nazis in them? Hell, I watched Cape Canaveral Monsters a few months ago and enjoyed it. You have to enter into the spirit of these things some times. Even Plan 9 From Outer Space is enjoyable if you approach it correctly.Truth be told, I will watch anything with a flying saucer in it. Bamboo Saucer for example.

Wow. The Amazons on the Moon just got company. I'm amazed someone actually gathered the money to realize that script. Hopefully it'll serve at least some purpose in exposing the whole Nazi saucer theory as the bullcrap it is.

Oh man, and don't remind me of Uwe Boll or even Roland Emmerich.... ow ow ow the pain...

Exactly my thoughts :)
If their last movie is anything to go on it will be well done and lots of fun filled with very dry and dark humor.

I think some people have an aversion to anything associated with Nazis. Even comic-book, doomed to fail ridiculous Nazis. Also, the whole over the top approach might be putting folks off as well.

They raised some money for this project through the Internet, offering posters, press kits, advance ordered deluxe dvd editions and so forth. The CGI looks pretty impressive for a tongue in cheek production like this you have to admit.

Whoa. Gotta read that again. Um...let me think...yes...? They killed a few million people using a kind of bureaucratic machinery and only ruined the possibilty for me and generations of germans in the past and to come to be proud citizens of my country, which to me is still a land of poets and thinkers, not of murderers.

But all in all, I'm not against them being ridiculed in movies. When I look at those old recordings of the Führer and his minions (especially Goebbels), I really can't understand why anybody would have taken them serious. They are effing laughable. And Himmler with his Thule society crap was the greatest comedian of them all. Except that he was responsible for unnumbered deaths and immesurable misery, of course.

And he even believed in reincarnation (for all the wrong, megalomaniac reasons, but still...I'm ashamed that I have that in common with him). You know, my guess is that this is at the heart of many of my fellow countrymen being so strongly opposed to anything that looks or sounds remotely paranormal. Because these idiots took this stuff and bent it to their thinking.

So yes, I guess I have an aversion. But movies like that? No problem. They have nothing to do with what's really going on. Did you know that there was a series of murders of citizens from other countries here in the last years that has been traced back to a "national socialist underground"? That's people who still embrace this way of thinking although they know where it leads. That is the effing truth. I have to think of an old quote from a movie about that time: "I cant' even eat as much as I want to puke."

Oh man, there I go. Another rant. Sorry, folks....but I'm feeling better again...

And trained, no offense intended. This is just between me and the legacy of my grandfathers.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Nazi of WWII (as well as modern ones) were monstrous throwbacks and thugs. Nazis are vile. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. Fictional Nazis are still my favorite whipping boy and bad guy in any movie, comic book, or what have you though.

I have a strong personal conviction that Neo-Nazis and Nazi admirers are some combination of ignorant, stupid, delusional, or developmentally challenged. Also, how anyone can admire a delusional lunatic who destroyed his country and the lives of so many is beyond me. If you look closely at the individuals associated with the paper hanger you'll see a group of thugs, criminals, and social outcasts overcompensating for various failings and short comings.

Aren't there censorship laws that would prevent this film from ever being shown in Germany?

There are laws against showing their swastikas and stuff (e.g. they have to be changed in games), but I don't think that the movie will be forbidden (maybe just cut a little). Indiana Jones and other movies showing them as the doomed-to-fail bad guys weren't either. Sometimes I notice a change in the dialogues and stuff but I can't think of any movie with that backgroung being entirely banned.

I'm of the same mind, what they did was vile, and those numbnuts who try and glorify them today are deluded whackjobs. I dont like neo nazis, but i also think the best way to ensure we dont ever go down that path again, is not to bury the memory of what happened, but never to forget it

Personally as far as the movie goes, i think the effects look great, and i'm looking forward to some Flying saucer sci fi, and a few laughs
