April 28, 2013 — Gene and Chris Talk Shop with Goggs Mackay

Free episodes:

Sounds fun. Maybe I should prepare to move.
Gene maybe you should move to San Luis Valley, I hear SLV has lots of UFO activity... oh wait... mysteriously enough, it doesn't. It appears to be all hearsay ;) BUT... they do have a camera ready.

I am. And I have found plenty mutilated cattle and deer here in Minnesota. It is not unusual at all. My brother and I once removed the head of one cow and brought it home to freak out our parents. It worked. Yes, it had the tongue missing, the anus "surgically" removed etc etc.. that is what bugs and other scavengers do.. no magic helicopters or ET involved.

We're cursed Gene!
No, I love where I live. Right near the train station, quiet streets, lovely homes, friendly people, bilingual schools. With summer approaching I'll go back to watching the sky like I always do.

Ever thought of having a small-scale SLV camera project-type thing set up? I mean, it must be quite cheap to have a webcam (not looking for quality or 'proof' here) on an extension to outside and pointing at a portion of the sky, perhaps just catching part of a roof for reference, anyway have it continuously recording - depending on the quality, can you record direct to a huge capacity hard drive? When checking the footage, you could fast forward and just look for something out of place. Obviously a speck in the distance wouldn't grab your attention but something bigger or closer might?
Judging by the few vids that Jeff Willis has from Phoenix, you gotta wonder how long it might take to catch something out of the ordinary if you recorded a portion of the sky above Phoenix continuously day after day? Probably wouldn't bother with night because lights in the sky doesn't really cut it with anyone, even though I've seen videos of night-time lights that certainly are interesting at least.

With the wind in my area that comes off my mountain, it would have to be a pretty sturdy set-up that I'm not willing to invest in right now.
I'm still waiting for some worthwhile footage to come out of the SLV project. Also, we have Ray Stanford that could put an end to this debate real quick.

hi guys, I'm travelling to the canary islands in late June.
would anybody out there have any info regarding paranormal goings on?

Very enjoyable show. Again, huge props to Goggs & count me as another one who supports the idea of making him a regular guest :)

Now a couple of things I wanted to point out:

There was some mentioning on how sometimes you can tell whether a video is fake or not by studying the reaction of the cameraman, and/or additional people on-frame. That got me thinking about the also-mentioned Russian videos of last Feb 15th.

When I first saw those dash-cam videos, they felt fake to me because I'd have expected the drivers to react to this amazing celestial event, by way of swerving or hitting the brakes hard. But instead they kept going without slowing down!

...Then again, maybe they're used to all kind of weird things happening on those Russian roads :P

So my point is that it's really hard to gauge how people will react when confronted by something outside their normal frame of reference.

And finally a quick mention about the SIRIUS documentary: Yes, I do agree that Greer is something of an attention whore with disquieting megalomaniac tendencies. And yes, Sirius engages in quite a lot of ego-stroking & New-Agey Space-Brotherly stuff —not to mention Greer's bodyguard who likes to show his big deltoids for the camera every 10 minutes or so (WTF!)— yet I still think the film deserves to be watched.

A lot of things were said about the so-called Atacama humanoid prior to the film's release, and even I was convinced that thing was nothing but a mummified fetus —"Greer's alien Mini-me" I jokingly called it. But Dr. Nolan & Dr. Lachman analyses strongly indicate that (a) the thing is not a monkey —like the one Jaime Maussan was promoting a couple of years ago— & (b) there are no known syndromes that can account for all the malformations observed on it. And most importantly, that its bone structure indicates this... thing, lived to be 6 to 8 years old.

So even though there's NO WAY to prove Ata is of extraterrestrial origin —because for that we would have to track its provenance, and have other independent samples to compare it with— it is still a very interesting biological mystery nonetheless.

Did Greer over-hyped the findings? Maybe. Is it the 'smoking gun' of other-worldly visitation? Most certainly not.

But to me Ata is as ambiguous as the majority of the UFO evidence I've studied over the years, allowing you to project your particular belief system onto it: If you're a hardcore skeptic, the thing is a human aberration and that's the end of it. If you're a true believer, then Ata is conclusive proof that we are not alone, and that aliens have intermingled with us for at least 100 years.

With the wind in my area that comes off my mountain, it would have to be a pretty sturdy set-up that I'm not willing to invest in right now.
I'm still waiting for some worthwhile footage to come out of the SLV project. Also, we have Ray Stanford that could put an end to this debate real quick.

Ray is busy channeling dinosaurs or something. I jest.
I followed Ray's work for awhile being we have similar interests in UFOs AND fossils. He got sorta goofy and I lost interest in him. Ray might be interested in a pretty cool collection I have of Orthoconic Nautiloids from around 500 million years ago, because of a lack of storage space after my divorce I had to let my ex have about 30 of them which she put out in the prairie I restored and being soft limestone they all dissolved. I have a couple nice ones at home and a few at my fathers house. I still enjoy fossil hunting for nautiloids, brachiopods, trilobites, corals, etc.. with my daughter when we can find time.

The jury is still out and no doubt will be forever. I don't think much in the field is ever truly authenticated. But I for one, do not believe the explanation of a yacht, nor do I believe it's trickery, but what it was, who knows. By the way, perhaps cos I don't listen to anything John Lear says, I didn't know he was championing the case - obviously Dr Roger Leir does, having been present. But whatever those figures were, they were pretty creepy..

Recently on the Paracast the question of provenance came up - you might have even been the one to have made a comment about that during the Cousins' affair. I know Chris mentions this, and guilt by association is another common theme on the show after credible sources are deemed hoaxers. When you look at who is involved with the Turksh video how can there be any credence given to these videos? The whole league of unextraordinary gentlemen attached to this video confirm this is snake oil. When there's four degrees or less of separation from Billy Meier you have to know the fix is in. At least that's my rule of thumb.

I'd move to the Southwest in a breath. Indiana is boring, and even if nothing paranormal or alien is occurring, the Southwest is still beautiful. There's lost of things to do out there, too...hiking, mountain climbing, riding, etc... I very much envy both Gene and Chris for living in that area.

I'd like to mention the comments regarding Chris' UFO research book/manual. Are we looking at a price, yet, and I highly recommend putting it out there in e-book form. I have both a Kindle and a Nook. I can put a .pdf file on the Nook (and probably the Kindle), but it's awkward to read and manipulate compared to an e-book. Please put me on the list regarding information for this book.

Peace.

J.

There have been quite a few interesting sightings there. Specially in the 1970s

Google Translate

It is said the Nazis had a submarine base there, which remained operational AFTER the war

The Nazis and Fuerteventura ? (canary islands), page 1

And, while you're there, don't forget to visit the pyramids ;)

I like it when you guys point out a clear fraud. Early in the show Gene made referenced to a posting from the forums from last weeks show which I think may have been me. Being new to the forum I never got back to reply to any additional information you might like to know. I'm the guy from Maui who has the friend in Hilo who was in one of the staged videos Blake released on youtube. If you need more info I can try to help. rynokai@gmail

I always enjoy the "Shop Talk" episodes and this was no exception. Good luck Chris getting Ray to release the films you mentioned. On the issue of disclosure, these mock hearings might provide some interesting clips that can be licensed out to film makers for bigger budget productions, and perhaps YouTubed for the ad revenue. Maybe they'll even make a few bucks selling DVDs. But other than that, unless they're going to include some insiders from Space Command who have personally seen them tracked on their surveillance systems, or have leaked gun camera footage, or something else equally compelling, it's not going to accomplish much more than make the news as a human interest story ... and one we've all heard before ... many times.

Can I take it that you too fell under the spell of 'The Unexplained'? at a young(er) age? It was undoubtedly the first real reading of anything paranormal I had done. I must have been younger than 10 at the time - I was born in '73.

I really appreciate you posting the photo of the record and taking the time to put the mp3 up too - dunno if you'd already converted it yourself or you did it so it could be posted here, but either way, big up yourself from me man.:)
