The Lone Gunmen series

Holy cow episode two and the Japanese guy who is tied up says he's supposed to be in Towson, Maryland?!?
I grew up in Towson, and have lived in Towson my whole life. That's the first reference to my home town that I've ever seen in fiction!!
Also he pronounces Towson like 'blow-gun' like anyone outside of the Baltimore area would:) (it's pronounced like 'cow-gun' lol). TOO FREAKING RAD!

I know that I'm probably talking to myself in this thread. It's awesome the AMAZING actors who portray TLG are coming back. The show deserves a second season-it's such a sublime mix of comedy, drama, and intrigue that I've rarely encountered in a TV show. I was too busy partying in my mid-20's to watch it when it was aired. I mean it's JUST PERFECT.
I actually cried over the scene at the end of episode 3 when Frohike and the woman whose son he was impersonating said goodbye and she said she had her son back for a couple days and he put his hand on hers..it's making me tear up just thinking about it.
Some seriously special sh-- :)

I too only just recently started watching the show on YouTube.

I had been aware of it back when it first aired but I never actually watched it back then

I seriously hope the new season of the X-Files will feature some appearances by TLG!

It will feature them-I saw a photo of the Gunmen actors filming a scene. They're definitely in it. It's really weird watching the series because it's mostly set in Maryland. Also it really makes me proud to be American for a change!

I know why this show was cancelled:
1: Heros who don't use guns
2: Beautifully meshed comedy and drama
3: Nobility and Idealism
All of which are NOT popular unless you have a mind and/or heart. This is my new all-time favorite show. The problem with the X-Files was that it was a great show, but not enough of these guys. I was iffy on Jimmy Bond in the first appearance, but after that he became a seamless brilliant counterweight to the Gunmen.

Braidwood, Haglund, and Harwood are GENIUSES. I will definitely be checking out their other work, even though I will miss their epic chemistry.
It's an immoral crime against bumanity that the show wasn't renewed. (Too hyperbolic?) No other TV program has touched me like this with tears and laughter.

Sometimes shows are cancelled because the show doesn't fit with the direction a particular network wants to go. I remember that TNT cancelled the BABYLON 5 spin-off called CRUSADE because their demographic wasn't into sci-fi. I guess they preferred wrestling matches and soft porn. Even though the show was a hit, it was shut down because TNT said that their usual viewers turned the channel when CRUSADE came on. The actual enthusiastic audience for CRUSADE turned the channel once that program was over. Syfy tried to buy CRUSADE to keep it going but found out that $500 an episode wasn't enough for a high quality show. But it is more than enough to finance the usual monster of the week Syfy movie.

Sometimes shows are cancelled because they encourage kids to Question Authority and make America a better place. If I won a million dollars I'd produce a second season myself.

Won't somebody please think of the children?

I thought Millennium was a good show too...sort of a spin-off of X-files...ah, but it didn't last long either. I hope with all of my itty bitty heart that the resurrected X-files will live up to my recurring Fox Mulder filled dreams. ;)

I feel ya but I think Langley is hot:rolleyes:
I read an interview with Duchovney that said Mulder's wearing dirty jeans and hasn't shaved when we catch up with him. Hope that does something for you! I do want to check out Millennium after I revisit the X-Files. I watched the first few seasons pretty hard then I fell off in my 20's after i discovered partying. I was amazed that there was a Homicide crossover that I can't wait to see because I LOVE both Homicide and TLG and Richard Belzer.

I've been wondering if there's a version of me in that alternate world, obliviously going about my business in Maryland while the Gunmen are down the road..or do I not exist in that universe? Or do I exist there, only a different version of myself-and if so, how different and in what ways?:p

X-Files/COPS/Homicide/Law and Order/The Wire all being in the same world; ok I can wrap my mind around it.
The idea that the X-Files and M*A*S*H (another show I love) are part of the same world (via St. Elsewhere) makes my mind melt:confused:

The Lone Gunman was a great show, and the episode where the Govt flies a plane into the WTC is a real headscratcher.
Did you say a Homicide and TLG crossover? Whaaaaat?!

Richard Belzer wrote a great book about conspiracies, get the audiobook because he reads it himself. Maybe he should be a guest on the Paracast?
