Questions For Ray Stanford: White Sands 1978

Free episodes:

I'd love for him to blow my mind and make me change the way I think about UFOs. I fear that while he may have been sincere, he now realizes what he has isn't as grand as he made it out to be. It take very little effort to digitize a photograph, film, or piece of audio.

Yeah, I don't know how much of it there is but I'm guessing I could digitize the audio in a single sitting of work. And I've never even done that sort of thing. Just can't imagine that it would be all that hard. Plug a cable or two in, load up some conversion software, hit start.

Are we ever going to get any more information from Mr. Stanford?
More than money I think it's all a matter of will. If the man really wanted to release the reportedly important film and audio material he possesses many people would jump forward to help him. Audio conversion from analog to digital formats is pretty straightforward. Telecine transfers could be done with the support of a specialized studio or even a TV network (many have access to such means, for they had many tv shows originally shot in film stock and later transferred to digital format). Even I could contribute with a small amount just to be able to finally watch those films.

Yeah, gotta' admit it puzzles me that he hasn't even released the audio tape that was talked about.
Because I haven't walked him through the analog to digital conversion process. He found a walkman to play the tape back (not the best playback gear for quality) but I called this morning and set up a phone call w/ him for tonight to get'er dun... As soon as the digital version is completed it will be posted.

I'm honestly not as interested in the audio tape as i am in the photographs and film. You can't really identify with audio like you can with a film or photograph. It really could be anything. I think most people would agree with that sentiment, no?

It take very little effort to digitize a ... film....
Not exactly true. The film will be digitized one frame at a time with the highest possible resolution. This will take time and a budget--it ain't cheap to do it right. Plus, I'm sure Ray will absolutely insist that he be involved in the process every step of the way. Hey, when he finally gets tired of me bugging him about it, it'll happen. believe me when I say, I'm more excited about digitiizing these historic films than all of you combined!

Chris, I never said that and going back in the thread i couldn't find who did. Who were you trying to quote?

Yeah, except Ray is not interested in hoaxing or trickery. The audio (I believe) was time-stamped along with the other gear and was synchronized to record the events as they happened. Now, being our resident "skeptic," of course you can always poo-poo anything, but in this case, you would be accusing Ray and the other witnesses of being dishonest and that wouldn't wash in my book. I know the man well enough to know this would not sit well. He's not only honest to a fault, he can sometimes be brutally honest and tell it like it really is! It's one of the things that I most admire about the man...

I'll take your word for it that he's honest, but how can one tell that a sound is from an extra terrestrial/non-human vehicle? I'll try my best not to poo-poo it, but I will hold off genuine excitement until he presents those pictures and videos that Arthur Dalvan ( I'll never forget him because he told me I'd be red faced when I saw what he saw) claims to have seen at that conference.

If the video and audio material are, as Ray Stanford said, timestamped, both can be matched and that could actually be very interesting so watch.
I heard both his interviews on The Paracast and got mixed feelings about the man. He announces to posses important material (audio, video, magnetometer data, etc) and yet, since 1978, he hasn't brought it forward for independent analysis and public scrutiny. What does that say about him? Sure he may be fearful after the supposed episode with the metal residues from the Socorro incident. But that only means that he has to allow his evidence to be analysed by more than one group/specialist (Dr. Richard Haines, for instance, would certainly be interested in looking at it) and make it public as soon as possible so that such situations don't happen again. In the end, either he has nothing of real value or he's sitting on a pile of relevant material for 32 years. To me that doesn't vouch for anyone's honesty.

As was said on the Mosley episode this week, he's a little nutty. I don't see him ever releasing what he has because he may realize it isn't as amazing that he think it is. Although he apparently "blew away" a world class physicist.

Well, if he's got any plans at all of getting the stuff out there he really should be getting to it by now. Isn't he 70 or something like that? Well, there's no guarantees he's gonna' make it to 100.
