What's your favorite 1980's sci-fi movie?

I'd enjoy a remake of the '80s movie The Stuff. It was a cool premise, and featured Garret Morris from SNL, but everything else was terrible.

Premise:
Folks find a weird white goo bubbling up from the earth and package it as a new kind of dessert. Of course ITS ALIVE.

I just watched and totally loved Chappie. It had a He-Man cartoon clip playing on a TV in a scene and a weirdly 80's/90's style. Kinda like Short Circuit meets Robocop meets Menace 2 Society.
Not on topic but hey. :p
PS I didn't really like district nine much.
PPS Johnny 5 alive!
