Steve Crothers: General Relativity -- A Case in Numerology | EU2015
TEXT: "Published on Oct 7, 2015: For many people, Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity lies hidden behind an impenetrable wall of complicated mathematics, superposed upon the widespread misconception that only those smarter than the average bear, with a penchant for doing long sums, can possibly understand it. However, the truth differs widely from the syllabus.

"Although mathematics is unnecessary for an understanding as to why cosmology is both logically inconsistent and disconnected from reality, cosmologists routinely resort to mathematical mysticism in their attempts to justify and impose their demonstrably false dogmatic beliefs.

"In his presentation, Stephen Crothers shall reveal the sacred secrets of tensor calculus and its accoutrements in order to see through the mathematical smoke and mirrors of Einstein and his followers. Anybody with high-school knowledge of the calculus is more than well prepared to deal with these matters. Perhaps this is the most frightening truth cosmologists must face. After all, calculations themselves are mere mechanical operations that impart no knowledge of their purpose in relation to physics.

"Curiously, neither Einstein knew nor his followers know how to do their sums right. That they don’t add up is sufficient to render them a form of numerology, which, like sympathetic magic and phrenology, does not lead to knowledge.

"Steve Crothers is a preeminent mathematician, counted among the most competent critics of modern cosmology (including both the General Theory of Relativity and popular theory of the Big Bang). He has also gained much attention for his systematic unraveling of standard Black Hole theory, showing that the mathematical model of a Black Hole follows neither from observation nor from any logical reasoning from Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity.

Let all caveats apply: I am following the argument, I am not (per se) a proponent. This is one of the best mental exercises going right now imo - and I love the controversy itself - the clash of paradigms! :) If true in even some of it's particulars - and I believe that is so - this is world-changing stuff. It has within it the answer to viable space travel imo.

The "Impossible" Dunes of Comet 67P | Space News
TEXT: "Published on Feb 22, 2015: The comet 67P has provided an avalanche of astonishing discoveries that may puzzle scientists for years to come. And one problem that will simply not go away is the seemingly impossible dunes, or dune-like ripples at the comet’s neck. At its first observation, the feature drew virtual gasps of disbelief from scientists and science media. More recent, close-up images of the “impossible” dunes have only deepened the mystery. How does the electric universe explaining this baffling feature?"

Deep Impact: Confirming the Electric Comet
TEXT: "Published on Sep 20, 2012: In the history of comet science, the most critical moment for the electric comet model was the evening of July 4, 2005. That was when a projectile from the Deep Impact probe struck the comet Tempel 1. The result was a stunning confirmation of key predictions by Wallace Thornhill and others. Since that event, comet discoveries have added numerous additional confirmations."

Comet 67P's Mysterious Form | Space News

TEXT: "Published on Oct 18, 2015: Today, we begin a series of reports that will discuss the latest scientific papers on the European Space Agency’s Rosetta mission to comet 67P. In addition to countless unresolved puzzles facing comet scientists, we have discussed in previous episodes the problem of comet’s double-lobed shape. Indeed, that particular form of a comet nucleus is apparently not unique; several other of the comets imaged to date have displayed similar forms. Multiple asteroids, including this one imaged on July 25th of this year, have displayed distinct peanut-like shapes, with a marked narrowing at the body’s neck. And recently, NASA’s New Horizons mission has revealed that the Plutonian moon Hydra also has a double-lobed form. Why do so many of these different types of bodies in the solar system display this particular shape?"

Does Dark Matter Actually Exist? | Space News
TEXT: "Published on Oct 22, 2015: Scientists working at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory are proposing a radical new theory about the nature of invisible, theoretical dark matter particles. The scientists have developed what they call a “stealth dark matter” model, which suggests that dark matter is composed of electrically charged particles and which are bound by a mysterious, unknown force. However, today in our discussion with physicist Eugene Bagashov, we take a step backwards to ask a more fundamental question: Why should anyone assume that dark matter actually exists?"

The interview of the Physicist Eugene Bagashaw above elicited this comment: "The thing about Dark Matter is that it's not actually there, in every way we try to measure it. What is actually there and observable are 'Dark Forces', i.e. we can see, or at least reasonably infer that stuff - such as stars inside galaxies - is moving/accelerating all wrong and we don't know why.
Because standard cosmologists have only one source of force in the cosmic scale - matter - they naturally must look for matter that they can't see. It becomes very bad science when your model and your observations diverge, and you then disregard the observation, and hold on to your model. It is highly probable that the "dark" source for the forces are electromagnetic in nature."

And this comment, so you can see what the Electric Universe theorists are up against ;): "Mainstream cosmology has a foothold in the entertainment industry, which has the public imagination by the balls, good luck telling a regular show that Neil Degrasse Tyson or Hawking is full of shit."

Voyager Probes the Sun’s Electrical Environment

Posted on September 30, 2006 by Wal Thornhill
LINK: Voyager Probes the Sun’s Electrical Environment | holoscience.com | The Electric Universe
TEXT: “…with his [Birkeland’s] extraordinary intuition he had a feeling for the huge electrical importance of the universe. Future research may show that such messages from the sun are equally important to us as Galileo’s understanding of messages from the stars when he took his telescope and studied space for the first time.”
—Sem Sæland, memorial address to Birkeland, 22 September 1919.

“…the interaction of our sun with the surrounding interstellar matter from other stars is more dynamic and complex than we had imagined, and there is more yet to be learned as Voyager begins the final leg of its race to the edge of interstellar space.”
—Dr. Edward Stone, Voyager Project Scientist at CalTech, 27 September 2005.

“The expectations of NASA scientists are not being met because their shock front model is incorrect. The boundary that Voyager has reached is more complex and structured than a mechanical impact. It conforms more closely to the effects seen in electric discharges in gases at low pressures, discovered by Irving Langmuir in the 1920’s and 30’s. Until the fabulous journey of the Voyager spacecrafts scientists have not been so confronted with the electrical nature of the Sun and its galactic environment.”
— Wal Thornhill, 29 September 2006.

"The report continues…

"And now for the surprises:

"Magnetic Potholes: Every now and then, Voyager 1 sails through a “magnetic pothole” where the magnetic field of the heliosheath almost vanishes, dropping from a typical value of 0.1 nanoTesla (nT) to 0.01 nT or less. There are also “magnetic speed bumps” where the field strength jumps to twice normal, from 0.1 nT to 0.2 nT. These speed bumps and potholes are an unexpected form of turbulence. What role do they play in scattering cosmic rays? “This is under investigation,” says Stone.

"Sluggish solar wind: The solar wind in the heliosheath is slower than anyone expected. “The solar wind is supposed to slow down out there, just as the water in your sink slowed down to make the ‘sluggish ring,'” says Stone, “but not this slow.” Before Voyager 1 arrived, computer models predicted a wind speed of 200,000 to 300,000 mph. Voyager 1 measured only about 34,000 mph. “This means our computer models need to be refined.”

"Anomalous Cosmic Rays: “This one takes a little explaining,” he says. “While the heliosheath protects us from deep-space cosmic rays, at the same time it is busy producing some cosmic rays of its own. A shock wave at the inner boundary of the heliosheath imparts energy to subatomic particles which zip, cosmic-ray-like, into the inner solar system. “We call them ‘anomalous cosmic rays.’ They’re not as dangerous as galactic cosmic rays because they are not so energetic.”

"Anomalous cosmic rays are supposed to come from the Termination Shock–but Voyager 1 found otherwise. Researchers expected Voyager 1 to encounter the greatest number of anomalous cosmic rays at the inner boundary of the heliosheath “because that’s where we thought anomalous cosmic rays were produced.” Surprise: Voyager crossed the boundary in December 2004 and there was no spike in cosmic rays. Only now, 300+ million miles later, is the intensity beginning to grow. “This is really puzzling,” says Stone. “Where are these anomalous cosmic rays coming from?”

"Voyager 1 may find the source—and who knows what else?—as it continues its journey. The heliosheath is 3 to 4 billion miles in thickness, and Voyager 1 will be inside it for another 10 years or so. That’s a lot of new territory to explore and plenty of time for more surprises.

No Surprises for an Electric Sun
The Nobel Prize winner and pioneer of plasma physics, Irving Langmuir, wrote on the subject of Electric Discharges in Gases at Low Pressures:

" “When a difference of potential is applied to two electrodes in a gas and a current flows through the gas between these electrodes, the distribution of potential in the space assumes a wide variety of forms. Some of these are in striking contrast to the distribution obtained with metal conductors… there are many types of discharge in which most of the potential drop takes place within a short distance from the cathode, the rest of the space having practically the potential of the anode. Moreover, it is common to have potential maxima and minima in the space between the electrodes; and it often happens that one of these maxima in space has a potential higher than that of the anode, or a minimum has a potential lower than that of the cathode. These seemingly anomalous phenomena have been shown, in recent years, to represent the normal working of the fundamental electrical properties of gases…”

"The expectations of NASA scientists are not being met because their shock front model is incorrect. The boundary that Voyager has reached is more complex and structured than a mechanical impact. It conforms more closely to the effects seen in electric discharges in gases at low pressures, discovered by Irving Langmuir in the 1920’s and 30’s. Until the fabulous journey of the Voyager spacecrafts scientists have not been so confronted with the electrical nature of the Sun and its galactic environment. As Langmuir noted, “most of the potential drop takes place within a short distance from the cathode, the rest of the space having practically the potential of the anode.” In other words, throughout interplanetary space the steady radial electric field is so weak that its effects have been mistakenly attributed to other causes. For instance, the solar wind ‘s acceleration has been attributed to the heat of the corona and plasma waves emanating from the Sun. Cometary ablation and disintegration has been credited to solar heating. And the strange steady backward acceleration of the Voyager spacecrafts toward the Sun remains a mystery."

Comet collisions every six seconds explain 17-year-old stellar mystery
Stuart Wolpert | November 08, 2012

LINK: Comet collisions every six seconds explain 17-year-old stellar mystery
TEXT: "Every six seconds, for millions of years, comets have been colliding with one another near a star in the constellation Cetus called 49 CETI, which is visible to the naked eye. Over the past three decades, astronomers have discovered hundreds of dusty disks around stars, but only two — 49 CETI is one — have been found that also have large amounts of gas orbiting them.

"Young stars, about a million years old, have a disk of both dust and gas orbiting them, but the gas tends to dissipate within a few million years and almost always within about 10 million years. Yet 49 CETI, which is thought to be considerably older, is still being orbited by a tremendous quantity of gas in the form of carbon monoxide molecules, long after that gas should have dissipated. "We now believe that 49 CETI is 40 million years old, and the mystery is how in the world can there be this much gas around an otherwise ordinary star that is this old," said Benjamin Zuckerman, a UCLA professor of physics and astronomy and co-author of the research, which was recently published in the Astrophysical Journal. "This is the oldest star we know of with so much gas."

"Zuckerman and his co-author Inseok Song, a University of Georgia assistant professor of physics and astronomy, propose that the mysterious gas comes from a very massive disk-shaped region around 49 CETI that is similar to the sun's Kuiper Belt, which lies beyond the orbit of Neptune.

"The total mass of the various objects that make up the Kuiper Belt, including the dwarf planet Pluto, is about one-tenth the mass of the Earth. But back when the Earth was forming, astronomers say, the Kuiper Belt likely had a mass that was approximately 40 times larger than the Earth's; most of that initial mass has been lost in the last 4.5 billion years.

By contrast, the Kuiper Belt analogue that orbits around 49 CETI now has a mass of about 400 Earth masses — 4,000 times the current mass of the Kuiper Belt. "Hundreds of trillions of comets orbit around 49 CETI and one other star whose age is about 30 million years. Imagine so many trillions of comets, each the size of the UCLA campus — approximately 1 mile in diameter — orbiting around 49 CETI and bashing into one another," Zuckerman said. "These young comets likely contain more carbon monoxide than typical comets in our solar system. When they collide, the carbon monoxide escapes as a gas. The gas seen around these two stars is the result of the incredible number of collisions among these comets. We calculate that comets collide around these two stars about every six seconds," he said. "I was absolutely amazed when we calculated this rapid rate. I would not have dreamt it in a million years. We think these collisions have been occurring for 10 million years or so."

"Using a radio telescope in the Sierra Nevada mountains of southern Spain in 1995, Zuckerman and two colleagues discovered the gas that orbits 49 CETI, but the origin of the gas had remained unexplained for 17 years, until now. UCLA is California's largest university, with an enrollment of more than 40,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
