Stephen Basset to release "undeniable evidence

As soon as I saw "Meier" and "Horn" (sorry Gene - "He-should-not-be-named" Which always reminded me of a Lovecraft story) I knew that Bassett has nothing up his sleeve but another publicity stunt. I am looking forward to seeing what he has to say and present though. But the idea that he would have anything substantial is pretty slim at best in terms of chances.

So far as I can see the only people who don't despise Michael Horn for the arrogant, deluded charlatan that he is, are the handful of Billy Meier disciples.

Bassett's agenda is as we all know, to promote "Government disclosure" of what he (and others) claims to be the evidence they have of ET interactions/presence here. It's IMO naive and misguided , but at heart his motives are those of promoting government openness.

Horn however is a different animal entirely. He is the ultimate example of a messianic flying saucer cultist, the kind who has all the answers and is the sole repository of divine knowledge for the human race.

They are not going to get along.

I wonder if that's an accurate quote. If those are Bassetts words and it turns out to be nothing substantial then it really should be the end of Bassett as far as credibility goes.

He doesnt really have much credibility any more anyway. My expectations for this "undeniable evidence" are pretty low... especially considering Horn seems to be involved.

This is a response by Bassett, Micheal Horn sounds his typical confrontational self...

<tt>STEPHEN BASSETT Public Statement:

Victor is mistaken or has been misled. There will be NO "showdown" on
Friday, February 4, 2011. I am speaking at the request of the Cafe's
owner Ryan Morris. Michael Horn in NOT on the program.

Based upon distorted information recently provided to Victor Martinez,
he mistakenly concluded there would be a debate on Friday evening in
Santa Monica and sent out his post stating as such. This is NOT the
case. I will be presenting for two (2) hours on Disclosure, the truth
embargo, exopolitics and the post-Disclosure world. There will be an
hour of Q&A. THAT was the presentation arranged with the owner of the
Cafe and THAT is what will take place.

Permit me to state as clearly as possible I will NOT be intimidated by
anyone [MICHAEL HORN]. Should it be appropriate to the advocacy work,
I will debate whom I choose, when I choose on the subject I choose.

Who amongst us has not had to deal with a school yard bully [MICHAEL
HORN] at one time or another? I have put up with insulting and at
times libelous e-mails from this man [MICHAEL HORN] for some time.
However, public attempts to disrupt my work via similar means will NOT
be tolerated.

Best Regards,
STEPHEN BASSETT

MICHAEL HORN Public Statement:

Victor, it is true that I am NOT on the program, BUT it will be during
the scheduled Q&A answer session that I have every intention of being
heard LOUD and CLEAR.

Steve Bassett Bassett and his group SHOULD be challenged on a number of
highly controversial, questionable subjects they place on the public
table not the least of which are the highly dubious claims of "alien
abductions." MANY evidentiary issues are raised here not the least of
which are the motives and techniques of the "hypnotherapists"
themselves, e.g., the recent expose of Carol Rainey, ex-wife of
"abductions researcher" Budd Hopkins immediately comes to mind.

And then we have the problem area of "exopolitics" and their phony,
fraudulent "Ambassador in Training" certificates which are sold to an
unwitting public for HUNDREDS of dollars each and which, in reality, are
NOT worth the paper they're printed on ... the UFO community should be
OUTraged ... which is their collected rage?!

No, Victor, I will be there to ask the tough, probing questions that few
in the UFO community are willing or even able to ask of this UFOlogy
circus-come-to-town. They've challenged the system one too many times
and now it's time for the system to cash their chips in.

With respect to the legal matters Bassett raised, I, too, checked with a
close attorney friend of mine and the issue of freedom of speech
immediately comes to mind, a concept which Bassett, et al., may find
"alien" in nature (NO pun intended!).

With respect to any criminal issues Bassett may raise only two (2) were
offered to me, both of which Bassett could be charged with himself if he
instigates such charges against me!

(California Penal Code)

° CPC 415 "Disturbing The Peace: Fighting, Causing Loud Noise or Using
Offensive Words in a Public Place," and

° CPC 602.1 "Trespassing With The Intent of Interfering With Business
and Commerce."

In the UNlikely event that Bassett actually calls police on me, my
attorney friend strongly suggested that when the police are interviewing
me for my side of the story that I point out that Bassett, et al, are
promoting and actually believe that people off the street are being
"abducted by aliens."

Since the vast majority of the American public outright dismisses such
claims as originating from the lunatic fringe of our society -- which I
wholeheartedly agree with -- that Bassett & Company may in fact find
themselves remanded to custody under an INvoluntary 72-hour observation
hold in a state-approved psychiatric facility.

This is provided under California's Welfare & Institutions [W&I] Code
5150 "Dangerous or Gravely Mentally Disabled Person: Custody, Evaluation
and Treatment."

"... upon probable cause take the person(s) into custody and place
him/her in a facility approved by the State Department of Mental Health
for 72-hour treatment and evaluation."

For legal reasons, let me be CLEAR: I am NOT saying that people who
openly promote and speak about "alien abductions" in a public forum are
"mentally unstable or ill" ... that's beyond my pay grade, and I leave
that up to the controlling legal authorities to make those
determinations.

Victor, in closing, I will be there to confront Steve Bassett on the
questions he wants to run away from and will take him on mano-a-mano in
a modern version of "Mortal Kombat." The clock is ticking for Mr Bassett
... 96 hours and counting....

Warmest Regards,
MICHAEL HORN
U.S. Representative for "The BILLY MEIER Case."

A little off topic but I find it funny (not giggle funny) is people like Horn who say "I'll tell the cops, blah, blah, blah." The police are not lawyers and are not interested in hearing his interpretation of the law. If they are called to a residence or buisness to remove somebody then that is more than likely what they will do. They will then let the "lawyers" settle it in court. :)

I think certain individuals should just plain be ignored completely. We shouldn't read anything relating to them, we shouldn't post anything, copy anything, watch anything, etc. Until there actually is some kind of definitive proof (which there isn't) we should exercise the definition of "ignore".

I really have the feeling that some people involved in the "UFO" community are seriously (and I mean clinically) mentally handicapped in some way or the other. They need therapy, .... for real. Michael Horn, Stephen Bassett, Steven Greer, countless others.

Millions of people being abducted by aliens?? Shameful, embarrassing, and abounding lunacy. Wouldn't it make a great "reality" show. I just don't know if it would be your typical reality show or better served as some kind of "intervention".

So basically, to cut to the chase, since certain people are involved, the crap we hear, will only be good for your gardens ( sorry Gene, I know you dont have a back yard ) it's sounds like it will be all hot air, flatulence and sheep dip. Is that the it in a nut shell???

Sigh. Posturing and jousting for the benefit of both parties involved. Barnum and Bailey's Electric Idiot Show.

Quoted from Stephen as a comment down the bottom of the original link posted by the OP.

As it happens, this press release is clever disinformation put out my Michael Horn to draw attention to himself while disrupting a presentation scheduled in Santa Monica on Friday, February 4. There will be a 2-hour PowerPoint lecture on exopolitics, Disclosure, the truth embargo and the post-disclosure world followed by Q&A. If Mr. Horn is not being paid by the government for this kind of conduct, he is missing out on a fine career in cointel. Regards, Stephen Bassett, Paradigm Research Group

IMHO, a new master topic is really needed to deal with all the information linked to semi-religious groups :
I propose 'Emerging paradigm shift sects' lol

All the Meier, Basset, Horn, Raelian ... enlightened material would be dumped there !! (and this would definitely contribute to separate the 'signal' from the irritating 'noise') ;)
