Richard Dolan returns to talk about his new book UFOs for the 21st Century Mind: A Fresh Guide to an Ancient Mystery which is garnering rave reviews. Unlike other books on the subject, Dolan gives a thorough overview of the subject starting in the ancient past and working his way to the present day. He re-examines the classic cases and looks at the political, economic, religious, scientific and cultural implications of UFOs, not to mention the current state of ufology.   1. What are your thoughts about the absurd nature of certain UFO encounters (e.g. aliens digging soil samples, performing primitively painful medical procedures, giving people wheat cakes)? Isn't this a problem for the ET hypothesis?

  2. Have you investigated the Varghinia case in Brazil? If yes, how does it compare with the best cases of the past?

  3. What are your favorite 2 or 3 cases of the last 10 years?

  4. Do you have any possible explanation of why there seem to be fewer CE3 cases compared with the classic cases of the past? Are the "aliens" on to our technology and know we have better surveillance and have stepped back?

  5. What's your best evidence for your breakaway civilization hypothesis (i.e. not just a ruling "elite", but a ruling elite with advanced technology operating in the shadows of our existing civilization)?

1. In which way did the whole UFO topic change your (religious) belief system? Do you still believe in some sort of god?

2. Have you ever been approached by some high level person because of getting too close to the truth?

3. What happened to the 'anonymous' source from the citizens hearing? Is he still alive? Did he get some reactions from 'official' parts of the government?

I would like to ask Mr Dolan if he thinks UAP/UFO are more likely to be time travellers as opposed to Aliens from other planets.
 
1.) What 3 letter establishment do you suspect is holding the most data regarding the UFO phenomenon in the US government?
2.) What country or foreign establishment do you suspect holds the most outside of the US. China? Russia?
3.) Have you done any interesting research regarding UFO's around the 4 corners area or Hudson Valley, NY recently?
4.) If so, what grabs your attention?

1. Does he feel our current space/Mars program is going to see a big boost, especially in the private sector in the next few years, and what type of new technology should we be expecting to hear about?

2. (Hypothetically) As of now, what kind of gameplan would he recommend to whoever calls the shots:
A) timeframe
B) process of disclosure
C) and what to expect with our current understanding and exposure to the phenomenon in the populace, via movies/media.
3. What are his thoughts of possibly by-passing the wait of government disclosure and pursuing actual contact with "unknown" through the general public by means of garage designed technology and should we trust the private sector in being truthful in what it finds in space exploration?
 
Richard, does the US have a moon base already established, in your opinion? Might this be the reason we would supposedly bypass the Moon and instead head directly to Mars.

I have heard Plato has written about Atlantis. Have you investigated these writings, and do you place any stock in claims that Atlantis was a break away civilisation?
 
I think Dolan is an exceptional scholarly researcher of the entire history of the ufo subject (the most accomplished guide we have) and a deep thinker who can place the relative significance of the wildly variegated ideas and notions propagated in popular viewpoints expressed in current internet discussions. It's great that he's returning to the Paracast.
