I'm only a third of the way into the show, but was most fascinated by Pope reading an excerpt from the document regarding non-ionizing em effects on humans where he reads, "it's clear that the recepients of these effects are not aware that their behaviour/perception of what they are observing is being modified." I sure would like to read more from this document and get more context - anyone got a link?..
Yea, that was interesting. I looked up Project Condign on WIKI, I will also check out the link you gave Burnt State. (
Project Condign - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quoting from WIKI:
"The report concluded that UFOs had an observable presence that was 'indisputable', but also that they did not represent crafts under intelligent control."
"This phenomenon is referred to in the report as 'Buoyant Plasma Formation,' akin to Ball Lightning"
"The electromagnetic fields generated by plasma phenomena are also hypothesized to explain reports of close encounters due to inducing perceptual alterations or hallucinations in those affected."
Pope's quote makes it sound like there is an active (intelligent) agent "modifying" the perception, while the WIKI writer simply reports that the perception is affected at random, because of the electro-magnetic effect.
Overall I thought the interview was interesting, but the stories seem to vary a bit. It seems that Pope and Burroughs downplayed the differences between them and Penniston, my impression from previous interviews is that some in the group of witnesses have had some falling outs?
The Penniston story about the binary code sounded uncredible, and it sounded like Pope/Burroughs were not convinced either. The pointless coordinates to various locations with supposed special attributes could basically have been taken directly from the New Age/Contactee Bible, designed to play at all the mystical myths. In any case, I'd be very surprised if that code didn't originate in a human mind aware of UFO lore..
Fascinating interview, but I'm not sure if much can be concluded from it, except that there are some similarities to the Cash-Landrum case with regards to the very unfortunate radiation poisoning that seems to have happened.
I wasn't aware of the 'lost time' thing, in fact, the story seems to get more and more expansive every time I hear it, which I'm not sure what to make of.
