My Thoughts On Boyd Bushman

Quantum Being said:
Just an FYI -- there is such an experiement involving copper pipes and magnets:

There is also a link at the bottom of that web page that links to an MIT-based web site that has a nice graphic illustration of the electromagnetic fields.

Thank you for the link.

I was out of town and unable to download the podcast until yesterday. Gene and Dave did their best to try to keep Mr. Bushman on one topic, which was at times a hard thing to do. Kudos, guys!

I've worked with people like Mr. Bushman for years. They tend to be very wordy and rambling when they talk. I guess there is too much information in their brains that they want to convey and it comes out jumbled.

All in all, I felt it was a decent podcast.

Has Bushman ever proven his credentials other than via patents? I mean, I suppose the information in them could be falsified (i.e. the Lockheed references).

Indeed, he comes across as infuriatingly arrogant and maniacal. I love how he keeps referring to "his" astronomers and "his" people in this arena and that...and how he repeatedly suggests that every leader and agency in the word seems to rely on his opinion on anything scientific.

It is so great when he just brushes them off with things like:

"So, you are saying that you can time travel?"

Boyd: "Oh yah, you just need a black hole, nothing to it..."

Oh, and there's this rock that is perfect and blah, blah, blah...

Gene: "and where is this rock?"

Boyd: "Oh, in Peru."

(no follow-up from Gene and Dave at all - hey, you know, anyone can find an unspecified rock somewhere in Peru)

Boyd is either completely bonkers or he is legitimate and just out to mess with people's heads. I can see NO benefit to anyone interviewing him if they are not going to do it properly and make him stick to a format and back up his statements with proof. Hey, as Boyd said, the proof is in the data - Theory be damned, show me the data. Right?

This guys seems to have worked with (or had help from??) Bushman in the last 10 years on some maglev-related patents.

I've sent him an email asking him for his take on Boyd. We'll see what I get.

Yeah, yeah quoting myself is a bit weird, but....

Check out this post I made. I contacted Kirston Henderson, who worked with Boyd Bushman on some maglev work at Lockheed. He's talking back to me and will hopefully give us some info on Boyd:

Mr. Cates,

Now, I can respond better to your questions.

I met Mr. Bushman while I was working at Lockheed-Martin where I believe
he held the position of Division Scientist. I found him to be a
highly-knowledgeable and helpful person. (I understand that his educational
background is in the field of Physics as is mine.) He spent most of his
time developing and working on various very advanced classified projects. I
know that he was, and is, held in high regard by those both associated with
him and for whom he worked. As you no doubt have discovered, he has been
awarded several patents, including the one that you mentioned with me.

He is a highly knowledgeable scientist who is willing to go boldly forth
and examine just about any subject, including a lot of those that most
scientists shun. (Unfortunately, this tendency sometimes leads people to
question his credentials.) However, from time to time, he develops really
valuable & significant products. He is, in fact, an individual with
extensive knowledge and capabilities and one with which I frequently discuss
the more mundane work that I engage in.

I hope that the above is helpful to you.

I enjoyed the Boyd Bushman episode. I approach some of this stuff as entertainment. And nothing is more entertaining than an eccentric crank with good stories to tell.

But I did get the impression that he was telling some truth in a limited way.

Now that I've read this thread I'm going to listen to the interview again to see if I still feel the same or if I become more skeptical.

This guy is full of Bull!#$t. I think its giving him to much credit to even suggest that he has a disinformation role. I find it very hard to believe that this guy has any kind of scientific background! I understand that apparently he has his name on some patents, i'm not actually sure what that means, maybe he was a manager of some sorts.

He kept going on about how he was a 'Senior Scientist', and how 'Senior Scientist' investigate what is not known, well what the f#$k does he think that any scientist does?

Anyway sorry for the rant, i found this one of the most infuriating paracast shows to listen to ever!

I'm totally with you there, and posted as much in the thread Re: Boyd Bushman Video Interview - We Shot Down Roswell UFO?

Wow--talk about resurrecting a thread ! :)

I regard Bushman as a kind of compelling anomaly, hard to believe but not quite possible to totally dismiss. Gifted folks like Bushman have been known to exhibit confounding eccentricities and even to have the rest of us mere mortals on. But still--given what we know about him--his riddling style of expounding on exotic physics may be worth pondering.

ADD: I just did some Googling re the distinguished resume of Kirston Henderson and I am now even more confounded.
