March 18, 2018 — Rick Doty with J. Randall Murphy

Listened to both the Doty interview -- best described as "amusing" -- and the round table. The AFOSI yearbook for 2016, provides some interesting "official" background information that can be compared to Doty's report of his service decades ago. Using search, "UFO" is found in this publication only once, in relation to project Blue Book, on page 6. On page 17, Kirkland AFB is listed under the "Special Projects" (PJ) division, and a description of PJ activities is found on page 28. I found the Doty interview amusing, from face-palm to knee-slapping rollicking guffaw. Navigators of interstellar space lost at Socorro. Classic.
Thanks for the comment and the link! It led me to some other interesting stuff on Blue Book I'll have to add to the USI site  .

Yup. This is exactly like encouraging UFO reports that were actually the U2 spy planes.

Great cover story, and adds mystique about the US Military/Industrial complex's abilities to boot. "Oh, those signals you're picking up that we are leaking accidentally? Sure, that's aliens, keep listening to 'em." That way they get to understand what kind of crap INFOSEC they are dealing with on the base, what can be leaked, and if anybody else picks them up... well, it's aliens.

Even if somebody figures out it's coming from the base, well, the US is talking to aliens because our military knows everything and is all-powerful.

You turn a giant cluster-F into your own internal security mechanism for free, and give the illusion of competence.
I still don't get how anybody mistakes something that has a fuselage, wings, vertical stabilizer, horizontal stabilizer & flies straight & level as a U.F.O. and by U.F.O. I mean flying saucer. It seems very unlikely. Unless it's a person that doesn't know what an airplane is.

I agree, but at 70,000 feet all you might see is it’s wings, glinting in the sun. Higher than any aircraft was supposed to be able to fly.

Hence the ET cover story.

I agree to a point. I think he is saying some things which are true, at least from his perspective. I just thought I heard some BS in there too - a product of many years of having to deal with the unwashed masses of humanity I suppose. Difficult to explain why except as I said earlier, maybe a slight hesitation while the gears were turning in his head trying to produce an answer. Doty is like a tag sale filled with interesting looking stuff. The real trick is to find the valuable stuff mixed in with the junk. I love tag sales.

I am not talking about the content of his words, rather his ability to speak. He just didn't seem very bright. Many times you can listen to a person speak and immediately recognize they are very intelligent even if you don't agree with their view, Richard Dolan comes to mind here, etc.

Doty sounded like my next door neighbor who can barely operate a flip phone.

I can't say that he sounded stupid to me but apparently we both felt that how he was speaking definitely had a few quirks.

Not sure what weak pussy sauce is.....however, I stand my by opinion, that Doty didn't sound very intelligent and is probably not the kind of guy who can mastermind too much or be trusted with real secrets. He is just a do'er nothing more.

Sorry, I can't take you seriously when your occupation is listed as "masterbater" your location is "Hands in my Pants" and your homepage is a pornhub site... You clearly have some issues.

Can someone ban this guy?
Somebody who clearly has issues with me and everyone else here, got logged into my account today - that forum glitch that many of us have seen before - and wrought havoc all over the forums.

Please delete anything you've quoted from my posts today - none of that garbage was posted by me.

Thanks.

Thomas, are you sure about this?

Of course I'm sure. This is a well-known and on-going massive problem with the forum software, and today we just got a taste of just how bad it can be when a despicable and wicked little infant just happens to get logged on as another member they don't like.

What? Logged in as you but not you? No infant could do that, Tom.

That actually happened to me a few months ago. I logged in but ended up in somebody else's account, I promptly advised Gene.

I can just imagine the damage this could cause

Let me clarify the matter: The login mixup is not a well-known problem. Tech support from XenForo claimed not to have heard of this cross-login issue. They suggested a caching problem. I tested one solution in recent weeks that did not work.

You may have noticed our server was down for several brief periods on Wednesday. Working with Namecheap, our host, I implemented another solution involving caching. If anyone encounters this problem again, send me a private message and I'll continue to work on it.
