Update on Gene, Tuesday Nov. 18

Free episodes:

Let’s hope that no news is good news 🙏
Even after I resigned in protest of his censorship of COVID news and his support for the vax mandates, behind the scenes, Gene and I usually got back to each another fairly quickly — so this extended absence isn't a good sign. Someone needs to physically check-in on him and let us know how he's really doing. Unfortunately, I'm too far away.

It’s almost like he’s been abducted 🤢 ….with no communication/update it’s really not looking so good. It’s sad to see how many of the original ufologists/chroniclers ended up in relative obscurity & harder times in old age - John Keel, Gray Barker, Jim Moseley, Richard Hall immediately come to mind. Having said this, in their youth/prime they did live in the best of times ufologically & in many other ways.

The same thing is happening over at the Skeptiko site where Alex Tsakiris has been MIA for an extended period. The other few remaining sites are infested with mods in need of therapy.

These days, with people getting arrested in some places simply for clicking the like icon on a post, it seems that the era of free speech on social media is over. While it's still up, this might be one of the last places anyone can say much of anything contentious — especially if it's running on auto-pilot.

I’ve started working my way back through old episodes to get my Paracast fix. Also the same with Howard Hughes the Unexplained, god I miss him and his shows.
Yes - a fellow Brit, Howard Hughes spent most of his life struggling and working so hard in this field, only to die far too early -
just when he was finally seeing a well earned measure of success :(

You mean Howard Hughes the germophobe aircraft manufacturer ? He did pretty well for himself, inheriting a fortune at the age of 18.

Hard to tell them apart though 😂

Interesting how during my years of interest in the fringe, I don't recall running across that HH.
He seems to have been well liked and remembered by those who knew ( and knew of ) him.

For now, it's still too early to start talking about @Gene Steinberg in the past tense.

Well HH of “The Unexplained” (a podcast & latterly a radio programme) was only really know in the UK paranormal field and only then in his latter years - he always said that his early inspiration was Art Bell.

I’m sure that we all hope that Gene will bounce back 👍

known

There is no easy way to put this, so I will just repost the email that Gene sent me:

I’ve been to four hospitals and a rehab center.

I’ve had multiple MRIs, CTScans, ultrasounds and blood tests. And a minor surgical procedure.

I’m slowly getting better but it’s too slow.

So the best thing to do is sell the show.

If anyone would be interested in purchasing The Paracast from Gene, DM me and I will forward all information to Gene.

I don’t think he ever recovered from the fire in his flat, plus getting his radio/tv show mucked around by Talk Radio probably added more stress.
