That's rather dark. How did you get that way?
Because Randall illegal immigrants that come to the UK and Ireland are usually from countries that want to form an Islamic state. They are also put into hotels get three meals a Day and a weekly allowance. That is more than I or most of my fellow pensioners get and the majority of us have worked all our lives and paid into the system. In Northern Ireland they are also if their immigration status is approved are prioritised over people who were born here for social housing.

Well I will echo @Tyger 's statement about treating people with respect . In the context of a forum I'd rather talk Bigfoot than argue sex, politics or religion; because, I live in a different reality when it comes to Trump or any right wing ideology. I'm a straight white male, married to a Chinese family and born to the first ever refugees from WWII Europe. I know from my family histories what it means to be a displaced person and flee tyranny. My immigrant grandparents and wife's immigrant family worked their asses off to provide for the generations that followed. As a consequence I do think that people displaced by the horrors of war need extra care and grace from countries who have the capacity to do so.

Unlike them I do not believe in God. But I believe all who walk this planet are divine beings in all their infinite diversities from age to sex and gender, race, class and geographical location. I also think all life forms on this planet and the planet itself is a living being equally worthy of respect, as is any other divine being.

And so long as you are not imposing your beliefs on me or indoctrinating my children or restricting.the freedoms of others, especially freedom of speech and expression of identity, then we will get along fine. I think all religious fundamentalism and extremism is as kooky as extremist political beliefs. But I suppose that's a sliding scale for some.

My historical research tells me that neighbourhoods, cities, nations and corporations are more productive, more profitable, more educated, healthier, happier and less violent when all our diversities are mixed together and live and work that way - especially classes. You want to get rid of methadone addiction and violent crime in your neighbourhood then love your neighbour, no matter where they come from or who they are, and house them no matter the cost. Look to Finland for the model here. Even conservative mayors there adopt a homes first strategy to deal with addiction and crime on an economic scale.

My pragmatic practicality tells me that society spends way less money on housing and feeding people than picking up dead bodies off the street or dealing with all the costs of violent crime.

Do what thou wilt. Love is the whole of the law.

I'm not going to talk about any of this anymore. Post what you will. I'll stick to Bigfoot and UFO's and ignore the rest. Peace.

Look I will also obtain from this subject but let me make it clear I have Muslim.Hindu and Seik friends who came here in the 60s and 70s and integrated into our society and who all agree.

At least that is describing a particular issue with respect to a specific place rather than "all immigrants", and I can certainly understand the frustration with the situation you describe. The politics in the UK right now would make me want to emigrate — probably here. If that wasn't possible, I'd be doing what I could to oppose the policies I didn't agree with. However, I've never actually hated anyone or anything in my life, and can't imagine what that must be like.

Randall I used the word hate loosely and probably do not articulate what I am saying properly. Let me explain further because as you say hate is an extreme word. I would say closer to dislike. I as someone who has worked for fifty three years and who paid tax and national insurance get a state pension of £230 pound per week. I have had to wait 27 years to get social housing. However an illegal immigrant arriving on my shores today will be put up in a four or three star hotel get with immediate effect and allowance of £159 per week per person and be fed three meals today. That is my anger.Oh by the way my American wife of 21 years who has a half visa gets fuck all

Plus out of my £230 pension I have to pay £50 per week social housing rent.

Yes, I have been following what has been taking place in the UK - and all of Europe for that matter. Intense situation. I hope you can undo the damage. It seems insurmountable when one cannot get the government to listen.

In Europe not all are technically 'illegal', of course (legal nicety) - as places like Germany and Sweden lets them in upfront - or the EU does so. That's changing I see. I'm relieved that some countries - for their sakes - are shutting their borders and commencing deportations. The problem lies in allowing too many people who do not share the same values of the host country to flood into a country by the hundreds of thousands.

This is quite a rabbit hole - and I've been delving into it for a while now. It's so odd - especially in the UK that has so clearly sent the message to the government via elections that the mass immigration has to be stopped. Yet it gets worse. Weird. Clearly being done purposely. I have only just recently started to understand that this is a 'globalist' vs national sovereignty issue. What exactly the 'globalist' stuff really is. I've been helped by the Promethean website. Had no idea that there is actually - historically - really is - a 'British Imperial System' that Trump is effectively dismantling, instituting the American Imperial System. Wild. This level of history is not my forte.

Here is an example of what I have been listening to -

Published December 24, 2025: [Video Run Time 16:01] Promethean Updates

"In this episode, host Susan Kokinda discusses -
- Secretary of State Marco Rubio's recent decision to ban five British and European agents attempting to interfere in US elections and silence Americans.
- Kokinda delves into the broader implications of this move, focusing on how the British Empire's influence is being challenged by Donald Trump's policies.
- She highlights the strategic maneuvers by British establishment figures, notably Mike Pence's alignment with European policies, and outlines Trump's economic strategies to bolster the American working class and reduce European influence.
- Kokinda emphasizes the importance of supporting Trump's initiatives to ensure sustainable economic growth and political sovereignty for the US while promoting Promethean Action's role in this movement."

@Burnt State Just for clarity, I mentioned Trump only because it was the third time you brought in a political stance alluding to Trump with a negative factoid (from my understanding) so I decided to say something. I'm with you, though - for the most part I am not inclined to engage in contentious political, religious or ideological discussions. Hear! Hear!

And yet, that's not to say I would be averse to a dedicated political thread - as long as the participants were lively explorers regarding how things have gotten this way. There is so much afoot - it's really a remarkable time to be alive - we are witnessing a massive historical shift - and it's not wholly unrelated to UFOlogy psy-ops. It's all noodled together. IMO.

This has puzzled me because we have had similar here in the US. It took me unawares. I never thought illegal immigrants were getting welfare or medical benefits - when I found out a few years ago I was - to use a Britishism - gobsmacked. In what system would this be permissible?

I've been a life-long liberal (in the American sense) if I was anything at all politically - I was more a-political, really - and I now know I held socialist views because I was actually taught such in school I now realize. Not overtly but it was insinuated. I know that now because in the last 5 years I have undergone a 180' flip in my thinking. I didn't really understand what socialism was about - in my ignorance it could have been the equivalent of 'good works' and 'charity' - certainly worthy aims. It's only as I've understood Socialism in a governmental sense that the pennies started to drop.

One last political bit - it would be nice to have a political thread though since I haven't been on the boards for a long, long while it's possible that political discussions are frowned upon, maybe even prohibited (understandably in the current climate), and if so, I will abide by the rules, of course. So someone please let me know the lay of the land. Would a dedicated thread be agreeable?

What we are witnessing is a massive historical shift and it'd be great to discuss. Forget UFOs and Aliens - that whole thing is a distraction. What is really of import is the shifting global power grid - Trump dismantling the ambitious globalist agenda (apparently - room for disagreement) - and the consequent new world emerging with AI and AGI (which Elon says we have achieved). The idea of UFOs and Aliens are of course important - why has the government been stepping forward aggressively to foment those beliefs? It's all noodled together like I say. IMO.

And Trump is key. the globalists cannot manage him. He can't be bought. From the moment he stepped onto that golden escalator he went from being 'universally loved' to being universally hated'. In an eye blink. Why? How did they achieve that? And then the flurry of UFO whistleblowers - what is that? There's a pattern to this. It's a hard one because one has to pull back so very far to see the entire playing field.

I offer the following essay as it alludes to the changes and might illuminate why Trump is so important and why they are doing everything they can to undo him. Getting the population distracted with ufo's and alien ships is one way to scramble the public's attention.

𝗥𝗨𝗕𝗜𝗢 𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗦 𝗘𝗨𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗛 — 𝗕𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗦 𝗠𝗘𝗟𝗧𝗦 𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
Secretary of State Marco Rubio just said out loud what European elites spend billions trying to suppress: ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝗠𝗜𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗦 𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗪𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡 𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗨𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗬 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗢’𝗦 𝗘𝗫𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘⁩⁣⁣⁣.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
And Brussels’ response? Crying ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦⁩⁣⁣⁣ while fining X for allowing free speech.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
Let’s cut through the nonsense.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
Rubio’s warning is ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗧⁩⁣⁣⁣. NATO exists because members share history, culture, ideology, and principles — not just a defense contract. Erase those foundations and you’re left with a protection racket with ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗡𝗢 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡⁩⁣⁣⁣.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
Europe imported millions from civilizations with ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗙𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗨𝗘𝗦⁩⁣⁣⁣, refused to enforce assimilation, then acted shocked when synagogues need guards and Christmas markets need concrete barriers.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called America’s National Security Strategy ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦⁩⁣⁣⁣. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen demanded the U.S. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘌𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘴⁩⁣⁣⁣.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
These are the same people who lecture Americans about democracy while ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗘𝗖𝗛⁩⁣⁣⁣ they don’t like.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
The geographic split exposes everything. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡 𝗘𝗨𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘⁩⁣⁣⁣ — Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic — openly agrees with Rubio. They’ve seen collapse before. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗪𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡 𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗦 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗛𝗘’𝗦 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗧𝗢𝗢⁩⁣⁣⁣, but only admit it privately because saying it publicly is career suicide in Brussels.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
Rubio cited the Bondi Beach Hanukkah massacre as proof mass migration has ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗚𝗟𝗢𝗕𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦⁩⁣⁣⁣. He’s right. When you import hundreds of thousands from regions where Jews are treated as legitimate targets, ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚⁩⁣⁣⁣.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
The sovereignty argument demolishes EU counterattacks. Every nation has the right to control borders, decide who enters, and set assimilation standards. That’s ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗗⁩⁣⁣⁣. Brussels’ project depends on eroding it — replacing voters with ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗨𝗡𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗨𝗖𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗦⁩⁣⁣⁣.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
Von der Leyen demanding America ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘶𝘵⁩⁣⁣⁣ while demanding American troops defend Europe is ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧⁩⁣⁣⁣. You don’t outsource defense to U.S. taxpayers, import millions who despise Western civilization, censor dissent, then tell Americans to be quiet.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
The censorship angle tells the truth. EU fines aren’t about ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯⁩⁣⁣⁣ — they’re about ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗟⁩⁣⁣⁣. When citizens risk punishment for discussing migration, you’re not defending democracy — you’re building a ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘⁩⁣⁣⁣.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
Eastern Europe gets it because they’ve been occupied. They know authoritarianism ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘⁩⁣⁣⁣, not theory. When warnings come, Western elites sneer — until reality arrives and suddenly it’s ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘹⁩⁣⁣⁣.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
Here’s what happens next: pressure to choose between ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗢’𝗦 𝗖𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗭𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦⁩⁣⁣⁣ and Brussels’ multicultural fantasy. Eastern states align with Washington. Western governments face domestic revolt. Either elites wake up — or voters replace them.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
Rubio’s message isn’t interference. It’s an ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗠⁩⁣⁣⁣: shared values or just a defense pact. Because if NATO is only American troops protecting territory while Europe imports people who despise what NATO claims to defend, ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗔𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘?⁩⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨⁣⁣⁣⁩⁣⁣⁣
Sovereign nations can make their own choices.
They ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁨𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧⁩⁣⁣⁣ get to send Americans the bill.

@Randall I'm asking for personal clarification and understanding: by 'here' you mean Canada? I am assuming that's the place you mean.

That interests me because down here in the US the tom-toms are beating out a less benign image of what is taking place in Canada. This is what I hear: Canada has gone full-on 'woke', as evidenced by the details of the MAID protocol, and by the speech controls (pronouns) in your universities as well as free speech in general increasingly facing government controls due to cultural shifts that may limit open debate and expression. Apparently there are laws targeting 'harmful' speech and rising censorship, particularly on sensitive topics - so it seems to me that Canada is basically going down the same path as the UK. That's what it seems. Would you agree or do I have it skewed? But if it is so, then why would you want to emigrate from the UK to Canada? isn't that frying pan into the fire?

Not only I'm afraid Canada but also the UK and Ireland. And it gets stronger each day Our Jewish community in Northern Ireland (part of the UK). Had to suffer the indignity of having to observe a Palestinian flag being flown on orders of Belfast city council in support of Palestinians for a full 24 Hours.

@Richard Hawkins Good grief! But, Richard, here's the thing of it - why is this 'protection' of the Islamic happening? We see things happen at a national or international scale and throw up our hands helpless to see a way to effect changes at that macro level, but at the city council level? That's at the level of one's next door neighbor - from where are they getting their instructions? Can't one look them in the eye and ask: who told you this was a good thing to do? We never did it with Ba'hai, not even with Scientology (which had or used to have a pretty impressive ability to coerce).

Of course the answer may lie in that they told themselves. It's like a 'mind virus' was injected and at the individual level it's being played out. But how did they get the mind virus to think such is acceptable? October 7th and the very next day well organized protests emerge on US campuses - not just one campus - many across the whole of the US. Overnight. On October 8th. What in the sam hill? Red Flag. Even internationally .... that's not random, that's not evidence of a sound well thought out opposition, that's evidence of a pre-planned action. That's a pattern. Who is orchestrating the pattern? Right down to a Belfast city council member? All in lock-step, across a nation, across borders.

Has to do with 'the globalists' - which hither-to I saw as merely a point of view - but it's more than that, isn't it. We really are in WW3 but it's not a wholly kinetic war as in days of yore. With the shutting down of USAID Trump has choked off the money flow to this mind virus beast lumbering about out there. (Boy, do 'they' hate him!) We're so far along on this path the pattern is coming clear. Unmistakeable. I'd love to be able to interview each Belfast city council member and ask them how did they come to the conclusion that such an action was okay? Who came up with the idea?

I asked my computer assist what is the timeframe for UFO Whistleblowers and very telling the pivot year is 2017 - the beginning of Trump's first term. Distraction. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. They were setting in motion a take-down of trump and needed a distraction - what better distraction than Gorsuch (so clearly a bogus 'plant') and the romance of alien craft and alien life? Here's what computer assist said: "UFO whistleblowers have gained significant attention since around 2017, particularly with the emergence of claims from former military officials like David Grusch, who testified before Congress in 2023 about government knowledge of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) and non-human life. This resurgence in public interest and congressional hearings marks a notable shift in the discussion surrounding UFOs in recent years" I realize computer assist and its brethren cannot be 100% relied upon - I've caught it making errors numerous times - and apparently it will lie, they are actually calling it 'hallucinations'. Now there's a conversation - the advent of AGI.

@Richard Hawkins I want to correct my last paragraph but darn't enter the post because I think my 15 minute editing window has expired, so I'll do it here -

Edited: I asked my computer assist what is the timeframe for UFO Whistleblowers and very telling the pivot year is 2017 - the beginning of Trump's first term. Distraction. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. They were setting in motion a take-down of Trump and needed a distraction - what better distraction. The Tic Tac UFO videos were released to the public in December 2017. Pattern.

Then there is David Grusch - so clearly a bogus 'plant' - cringeworthy bogus to anyone who's been around UFOlogy - and we're off and running with the romance of alien craft and alien life - and when did that happen? 2023 - more smoke and mirrors to distract from both an election and kinetic wars (Ukraine and Gaza). Here's what computer assist said: "UFO whistleblowers have gained significant attention since around 2017, particularly with the emergence of claims from former military officials like David Grusch, who testified before Congress in 2023 about government knowledge of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) and non-human life. This resurgence in public interest and congressional hearings marks a notable shift in the discussion surrounding UFOs in recent years" I realize computer assist and its brethren cannot be 100% relied upon - I've caught it making errors numerous times - and delivering radically different answers with a change in a question's wording (not meaning) - and apparently it will lie, they are calling it 'hallucinations'. Now there's a conversation - the advent of AGI. How much electricity it needs - little nuclear power plants are now being built alongside the data centers for reliable consistent power for the data centers.

BTW ten years ago I believed about Trump what everyone believed who was reading and listening to mainstream media. My voting reflected that. The change started during Biden's term - when I witnessed the lawfare they were leveling against Trump. What the hay? Pattern. Beyond belief. Some of it was so absurd - and so clearly manipulated. Fear of Trump. Why? That's when I started paying attention. Trump dumb? Light years far from dumb. We are unlikely to see another like him. Amazing individual. I now watch him in awe. Pray for him. They cannot buy him off. They cam't blackmail him. They can't control him. He won't play the game.

@Richard Hawkins I just realized - it is possible - probable - that no one will actually engage in political debate anymore because there are countries that have well and truly banned debate as 'hate speech' - not so? Germany is scary - night time raids on everyday citizens, confiscating laptops, arresting and jailing citizens for online expressions of opinion .... is that why everyone is so quiet? Of course it's Christmas Day after all  reason enough to be elsewhere. But there is the oddity - since when has expressing a negative opinion about any religion been a jailable offense in the West?
