This Week's Episode: Our listeners are just amazing, so we're proud to present yet another Listener Roundtable, this time featuring such popular forum regulars as Stonehart (Dave), Sue and Ufology (Randall). The discussion ranges from the state of UFO and paranormal research, and why women are less apt to listen and participate in paranormal forums or attend conventions. You'll hear about personal case histories, views about such controversial issues as UFO abductions, not to mention musical tastes, and even whether some psychics have genuine paranormal powers. Our guest panel also answers your questions.

After The Paracast -- Available exclusively to Paracast+ subscribers on March 6: : The Listener Roundtable continues, as Gene and Chris are rejoined by our listener panel, stonehart (Dave), Sue and ufology (Randall), as they continue to explore seldom-discussed aspects of UFO and paranormal research. But it all starts with a very frank discussion of stonehart’s feelings about Presidential candidate Donald Trump. The guests are asked if any episode of the Paracast or forum discussion has changed their minds about a subject. The continues with a focus on possible future subjects of episodes of The Paracast, how the show ought to change for the next ten years. One key point is the use of psychedelics and other substances and how it might advance research into the strange and unknown. Does being in an alternate state of consciousness make you more aware of these events? What avenues should investigators explore to move research towards the future and thus accomplish somethin g after years of wasted efforts?

UFOs and Government Disclosure Revisited

By Gene Steinberg

As the world tries to make sense of the crazy 2016 Presidential campaign in the U.S., aside from the juvenile boasting of one’s physical attributes by some candidates, and the usual collection of nonsensical talking points, not much has been said about flying saucers.

Except for one candidate.

In January, responding to a question from a newspaper reporter in New Hampshire, former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton actually made a positive statement about getting to the bottom of the UFO mystery.

In case you haven’t heard, the reporter, from the Conway Daily Sun, got her on the record about the subject. She promised, “Yes, I’m going to get to the bottom of it.” She also admitted that, “I think we may already have been visited. We don’t know for sure,” and she also mentioned the possibility of setting up a task force to look into the goings on at Area 51 in Nevada.

Anyone who is deep into trying to understand the ins and outs of the presence of UFOs in our skies should have been delighted. Mrs. Clinton is the Democratic frontrunner, on a pretty straight path to receiving the nomination. That means she has at least an equal, or possibly better-than-equal, chance of becoming the next President.

Now she is not the first prominent political figure to make a promise about discovering the truth about UFOs, nor is it the first time she’s made such a promise. The Clintons were positive about looking into the UFO mystery during the 1992 campaign for President, but nothing came of it. President Carter actually saw a UFO, and that didn’t bring about disclosure, so why should this be any different?

Well, in this case, her campaign manager, John Podesta, is also on the record with positive UFO statements. He even wrote the foreword to Leslie Kean’s best-selling 2010 book on the subject, “UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record.”

Kean’s book may not have provided any amazing new insights into the enigma, but presenting statements and sightings from “blue chip” witnesses certainly lent a great deal of credibility to a subject too often dismissed as fringe.

In joining the Clinton campaign, Podesta said he would continue to advocate for the U.S. government disclosing the UFO documents they possessed.

In an interview with KLAS-TV in Las Vegas, Podesta was quoted as saying, about Mrs. Clinton, “I think I've convinced her that we need an effort to declassify as much as we can so people have their legitimate questions answered. More attention and more discussion about unexplained aerial phenomena can happen without people who are serious about this being ridiculed.”

Speaking of serious, this is serious business to Podesta, and the fact that he is making no bones about his views on the subject does lend credence to the possibility that Mrs. Clinton might really attempt to make good on her promise.

Unfortunately, coverage of her statements, and those from Podesta, have largely been overshadowed by the ongoing controversies in what is shaping up to be the messiest political campaign in decades — and perhaps ever.

So Mrs. Clinton is still defending herself for her decision to use a private email server rather than a State Department account during her stint as Secretary of State. The political talking heads continue to speculate on whether she was stupid enough to put classified information in text-based email, even though that wouldn’t make a lick of sense.

And, no, it’s not about whether some of that email was classified after the fact, which is evidently what happened.

Besides, one of her predecessors, Colin Powell, used an AOL account for his State Department email while working for the Bush II administration. Those messages were deleted when he left office, but nobody is demanding that AOL attempt to recover that email. It’s seldom mentioned. And AOL has a checkered history on security matters.

Now when it comes to assurances that a potential U.S. President is going to get to the bottom of the UFO mystery, the record shows otherwise. Such promises vanish in the wind when or if they take office. It’s always about the pressing crisis of the day rather than an issue that continues to enthrall millions around the world.

True, most of the mainstream presentations about UFOs these days consist of reality shows, where such arcane issues as research and adherence to factual accuracy take second place to lurid visuals and exaggerated claims in the quest for higher ratings.

Since UFOs are, to most people, just fodder for a reality show, it’s no wonder that their interest seldom extends to actually demanding to know the truth.

So are there really topic secret documents in the possession of any Earth government that demonstrates, once and for all, UFO reality? What about the possible source of UFOs? Do they possess any physical evidence that we are being visited by extraterrestrials? What about the possibility that some flying saucers are actually test aircraft?

Now call me jaded, but I don’t really expect that Podesta’s promise will be fulfilled even if Mrs. Clinton does become President. If the question is even asked at a news conference, you can bet she’ll defer it to her aides, or just say she’s looking into it and move on.

Amid all the concerns over Donald Trump’s checkered history in business, such as that suspected fraudulent educational scheme, Trump University, you hardly expect a Fox News talking head to ask him about UFOs. If they did, he’d laugh it off and move on, or maybe he would say something serious. It’s hard to know how any candidate is going to react unless the mainstream media is willing to ask the question without a wink and a nod.

I would be pleased as punch to be surprised and amazed. It’s encouraging to see Podesta expressing his opinion on the subject, and while some might feel Mrs. Clinton was just posturing or placating a reporter, she also appears to be serious. She’s not dismissing the question out of hand, even though it’s clear her opponents could raise the issue as evidence that she’s a wacko who is not qualified for high office.

Call me old and tired, call me jaded. Call me whatever you want — and some of the statements about me have been doozies — but I do not for a moment expect that John Podesta or Hilary Clinton will come up with anything to satisfy UFO disclosure advocates if she does win the election in November.

In short, it’s not going to happen. Sure, I’d be happy to be proven wrong, but nothing ever seems to change in the tired UFO field.

One aspect Gene with this great newsletter is the reason for not ever disclosing some aspect of UFO so called secret /classified files as suggest by the proponents maybe its some aspect of the high investment and patents of high technology which has been mistaken for some of the major events or gained from there classified files of the interpretation of movements/flights is so maybe its so intertwined in the system whatever the UFO phenomena might be more likely a door stopper. Follow the money and institutions agree those statements of politician's are puff and smoke. Also great show on the "Tech night Owl" Show is a keeper and see Mr Gates agrees on the FBI stance interesting development don't yah think Gene?
