So we hope you're able to help fill the gap if you can to help us cover increasing server costs and other expenses -- or perhaps provide a little extra cash for lunch. No contribution is too small (or too large :). We have a Donate link on our home page, below the logo and audio player. There's also a Donate link on our forums, at the bottom of the sidebar on the right. Or just send your PayPal donation direct to sales (at) theparacast (dot) com.

Attention U.S. Listeners: Help Us Bring The Paracast to Your City! In the summer of 2010, The Paracast joined the GCN radio network. Please ask one of your local talk stations if they are interested in carrying The Paracast. Feel free to contact us directly with the names of programming people we might be able to contact on your behalf. We can't do this alone, and if you succeed in convincing your local station to carry the show, we'll reward you with one of our special T-shirts, and other goodies. With your help, The Paracast can grow into one of the most popular paranormal shows on the planet!

Please Visit Our Brand New Online Store: You asked, and we answered. We are now taking orders for The Official Paracast T-Shirt and an expanded collection of other specially customized merchandise. Just What Do Earth Governments Know About UFOs?
By Gene Steinberg

It’s a sure thing that a fair number of people who believe that UFOs are real objects of one sort or another also subscribe to the theory that the governments of Earth know the truth and nothing but the truth. But those governments are keeping the truth from us for reasons best known to themselves.

Now if UFOs are really and truly physical spaceships from other worlds, certainly the impact of such a revelation would be extremely difficult to judge. Sure, perhaps most people would simply shrug their shoulders and get back to the day-to-day business of survival. But you can see where certain vested interests would be upset.

Consider the plight of the energy industries knowing that contact and access to alien technology may make their sources of income obsolete overnight. The military hardware manufacturers may be similarly impacted. But there is the potential for serious impact as well to the world’s religions, particularly if ET declares beliefs that support one religion, a different religion, or none at all.

The larger issue is intent. Is famed scientist Stephen Hawking correct that we should fear ET? If that were the case, and the governments of Earth had evidence of a hostile motive, or motives that may be indifferent but still potentially harmful, would they keep it all a secret for our protection? Consider the dilemma faced by the fictional president of the U.S. in the 1990s sci-fi flick “Independence Day.” When the aliens started to attack, he fretted over not asking the populace to flee cities once huge spacecraft began to hover above them.

But if the reality of UFOs is really being kept under wraps, it’s not something that was decided upon last week, or last year. That secret has been kept since the late 1940s, and that could mean that the world powers got together in rare emergency sessions to assess the impact of alien visitation, and collectively agreed on something. In this case, that something was to maintain the cloak of secrecy, or perhaps to release the information on a gradual, carefully timed basis.

If there is such as thing as gradual disclosure, the act may include the release of popular movies depicting contact with friendly aliens, although movies such as “Independence Day,” the Tom Cruise version of “War of the Worlds,” and TV’s “Falling Skies” clearly depict hostile beings. Or maybe it’s still just about entertainment, box office and great TV ratings.

But more and more stories are being written about newly discovered planets in our galaxy that have the potential to harbor life. There’s talk of primitive life forms on Mars, perhaps the Moon and, most recently, Titan, one of Saturn’s moons. The conclusion drawn is that life is ubiquitous, and that it will appear under a variety of conditions. If there’s primitive life, there must be advanced life as well, a rich variety of forms throughout the universe. Some of those life forms may have developed technology advanced enough to allow for space travel.

With advanced spacefaring civilizations out there, it doesn’t take a huge leap of logic to imagine that one or more of those races are visiting us. How could it be otherwise? We are clearly not alone in the universe. Even scientists who will not accept the possibility of UFO reality will, in increasing numbers, recognize the reality that life is present in various forms out there.

Now suppose our governments long ago planned the gradual revelation of the truth about the presence of UFOs in our skies. Assuming that ET wouldn’t stage a massed landing, they are conditioning us to slowly accept the possibility of alien visitation. I suppose there’s even the possibility of a long-range plan hatched with ET to prepare us for the revelation of their presence.

But there are valid reasons not to take any of this seriously. For one thing, few governments manage to agree on anything, particularly the most immediate needs of any country. Can you imagine them all working together to agree to keep a world-changing secret about the alien presence in the skies, and that such an agreement would remain in force despite major changes in leadership, including armed revolutions where a corrupt dictator was removed from office? How could there not be whistleblowers that would ignore the memo and reveal what they know?

Well, I suppose there are occasional reports of people of that sort, but they are usually not taken very seriously. They don’t have to fear the consequence of revealing secret information; they will simply be ignored or discredited. Government agents may even get into the game with false claims and evidence to divert your attention from the real thing. Consider that silly “Project Serpo” hoax, involving an alleged exchange program between the U.S. and visitors from another planet. The story was allegedly concocted by individuals that included a former military intelligence operative. But it was so poorly conceived, few could possibly take it seriously. If that’s an example of government disinformation, it was a very poor job.

Or maybe such fanciful stories are tossed out there to muddy the waters. If one story is fake, maybe the others are too, so you take none of them seriously. That allows the actual revelations about a UFO secret to remain in plain sight, but few pay attention.

In any case, some people still clamor for disclosure. Now maybe they are just whistling in the wind. But if the truth is out there, maybe it’s not a truth that most of you are prepared to handle. Be careful what you wish for.

I agree. When a person encounters something so absolutely foreign to our established definition of the world around us it can be very disorienting, and disturbing. To get too close to the UFO phenomenon is not for the faint of heart. I don't think everybody is ready to handle the truth. Even though we act collectively to create technology and civilization; the people of the world are very much divided in their way of thinking. It was not long ago when when 55 million human beings were killed in World War II. Technology has advanced faster than social development. I want to learn the truth, whatever that truth may be. I don't expect, or anticipate anything but lies from the government.
