This Week's Episode: Gene and cohost Tim Swartz present yet another very special episode featuring veteran UFO researcher and author Kevin D. Randle. On the agenda, a discussion about the July 26, 2023 hearings on UFOs in the halls of the U.S. Congress, which included an appearance by a whistleblower, retired Air Force Major " David Grusch, who led the analysis of unexplained anomalous phenomena within a U.S. Department of Defense. Will the renewed interest in the phenomenon lead to disclosure or just the same old attempt to debunk their possible existence? Kevin's latest book is a re-release of "The Washington Nationals: Flying Saucers over the Capital," a comprehensive study of what is regarded as one of the most compelling UFO events in modern history. Within the UFO community, he is often regarded as one of the preeminent experts on the reported crash of a UFO near Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947. Randle’s writing is not limited to the UFO field. He is the author of more than 100 books that cover no just UFOs, but action-adventure, mysteries, and science fiction.

After The Paracast — Available exclusively for Paracast+ subscribers on July 30: More cutting-edge commentaries from UFO researcher/author Kevin D. Randle, as he continues to discuss with Gene and cohost Tim Swartz the claims of a cover-up of evidence by Pentagon whistleblower David Grusch. There's also talk about the possible genesis of the Roswell Slides (Not Roswell Slides) hoax, and about the flaws in the book, "Trinity: The Best Kept Secret," from Jacques Vallee and Paola Harris. Within the UFO community, Randle is often regarded as one of the preeminent experts on the reported crash of a UFO near Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947. Randle’s writing is not limited to the UFO field. He is the author of more than 100 books that cover no just UFOs, but action-adventure, mysteries, and science fiction. The Definition of Insanity
By Gene Steinberg

These are trying times. So many troubling things are happening around the world, that it’s hard to know where to begin. I think of all the sci-fi stories and movies that used to portray a dystopian future for the early 21st century.

Some suggested a worldwide calamity, while others attributed the then-impending disaster to a confluence of nasty events. Warfare with extraterrestrials was only one possibility.

That is the core of the plot for the 1996 sci-fi flick “Star Trek First Contact,” which depicts a decayed civilization in 2063, when warp drive is invented. In passing, this is perhaps the best film featuring the Next Generation cast, superbly directed by “Number One” Jonathan Frakes.

As you can imagine, it’s not easy to watch potentially catastrophic predictions come true with such alarming consequences.

But the current state of planet Earth is not the main topic of this column. It just represents the state of affairs and why, for example, renewed expectations of UFO disclosure are mostly receiving a collective “meh” reaction. It’s not as if ET’s presence is going to have much impact after all these years. Most people accept the possibility of an inhabited universe consisting of many civilizations of various sorts.

But way back in the early days of the modern UFO era, it was widely believed that such a revelation would be a world-changing event. The energy industry would have to consider the impact of superior methods of generating power. Organized religion would have to accept the likelihood that their concepts of God’s Children would have to be modified to accept the fact that His flock is not confined to Earth.

Through the years, there have been expectations, disappointments, new expectations and so on and so forth. But none of it has come close to a realization. Even the current positive attitude by the Pentagon in the U.S. that the phenomenon, which they label as UAP, needs to be investigated seriously, doesn’t constitute an admission of anything.

Indeed, those in charge continue to repeat the mantra that there is no evidence that UFOs are not of this Earth. Even the presence of one David Grusch, who appears to be a genuine whistleblower, in the halls of Congress has changed nothing. As I and others expected, the House Oversight Committee hearings on July 26 of this year failed to resolve much of anything.

So during questioning, Grusch, a retired Air Force Major, was unwilling to reveal much in the way of specifics about his claims that the U.S. possessed crashed alien spacecraft, alien bodies, and was trying to reverse engineer the advanced technology. He said he’d be able to say more in a closed briefing, but it doesn’t seem as if the members of Congress were yet prepared to take that step.

So how are we supposed to react to Grusch? He claims that an Inspector General approved his whistleblower status, which is a normal process. But doesn’t necessarily demonstrate the accuracy of his statements. He may be correct, and he may possess top secret information confirming UFO reality. But he is allowed to speak because he is prevented from providing such evidence, and thus his statements are free to flow in the wind.

That, however, didn’t prevent Sean Kirkpatrick, who leads the Pentagon’s UFO agency, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office from issuing some strong objections in a social media post:

“To be clear, AARO has yet to find any credible evidence to support the allegations of any reverse engineering program for non-human technology.”

Since it’s clear that Grusch is unwilling, or unable, to prove otherwise, that’s where it stands. Of course it’s also true that Grusch testified in Congress under oath, meaning he could be charged with perjury if it was demonstrated that he was lying.

But the very same statements, including the ones claiming that there is no evidence that UFOs are spaceships, or that crashed spaceships and their deceased crews are in the possession of the U.S. authorities, have been repeated for decades. It never seems to change.

Then again, that Kirkpatrick saw the need to respond, even as a so-called private citizen, actually makes the whistleblower claims seem more important. Otherwise, it would seem the best course would be to ignore them. Or perhaps it gives the agency plausible deniability since it wasn’t, at first, submitted as an official statement, although it was later declared as official. Once again.

But that doesn’t mean the hopes and dreams of disclosure advocates should be dashed. A government denial can be easily dismissed, since government postures change. Besides, they don’t really define what they mean by “credible evidence,” but you’d think the possession of crashed flying saucers, with or without its crew, would easily meet such requirements.

Regardless, it has to be discouraging that very little ever changes in the UFO field. Each major sighting wave or possible whistleblower claim renews expectations, or treats it all as something new, although it is decidedly otherwise.

Now someone once said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

The statement has been attributed to Albert Einstein, but a quick check reveals that it may have originated in a 1983 mystery novel from one Rita Mae Brown, entitled “Sudden Death.”

But the sheer logic behind the statement makes it appear that others have previously said pretty much the same thing. Regardless, misplaced quotes do often occur.

At the same time, I wonder how often the disclosure scenario will play out before something real actually occurs. Hopes continue to be dashed.

Besides, if it were shown that UFOs are caused by something other than the presence of ET, how would a possibly complex answer be presented to the public?

The collective unconscious? Archetypes? The multiverse? The astral plane? A terrestrial race coexisting with ours (crypoterrestrials)?

Imagine a U.S. President (you name one) getting up before a podium and trying to deliver a simple description of the collective unconscious: “Well, you see, we are all coming together unconsciously to make it all up.” Or perhaps this one: “There is this other dimension which exists in the same place as ours, but is entered by [mumbo jumbo about portals and wormholes and such].”

Well, not my late brother, Wally, of course. During his lifetime he never expressed any belief in the flying saucers. At best, he seemed to regard it all as a joke. So if there is a collective unconscious involved, he wasn’t a part of it.

As veteran UFO author/researcher Kevin D. Randle explains on this weekend’s episode of The Paracast, the only real disclosure will happen when or if flying saucers land en masse and reveal themselves to Earthlings.
