Incredible Hopi Prophesies and Ancient Mysteries Explored on The Paracast

Special Announcement: The Paracast is heard Sundays from 2:00 AM until 5:00 AM Central Time on the GCN Radio Network and affiliates around the USA, and online across the globe via download and on-demand streaming.

Why It's Important for You to Donate to The Paracast: Although ads help cover a small part of our expenses, the income they produce is never enough to pay your humble hosts decent wages. Also, we do not receive any revenue from the ads placed on the show by our network or local stations. So we hope you're able to help fill the gap, if you can, to help us cover increasing server costs and other expenses -- or perhaps provide a little extra cash for lunch and utility bills. No contribution is too small (or too large :). We have a Donate link on our home page, below the logo and audio player. There's also a Donate link on our forums, at the bottom of the sidebar on the right. Or just send your PayPal donation direct to sales (at) theparacast (dot) com.

Attention U.S. Listeners: Help Us Bring The Paracast to Your City! In the summer of 2010, The Paracast joined the GCN radio network. This represented a huge step in bringing our show to a larger, mainstream audience. But we need your help to add additional affiliates to our growing network. Please ask one of your local talk stations if they are interested in carrying The Paracast. Feel free to contact us directly with the names of programming people we might be able to contact on your behalf. We can't do this alone, and if you succeed in convincing your local station to carry the show, we'll reward you with one of our special T-shirts, and other goodies. With your help, The Paracast can grow into one of the most popular paranormal shows on the planet!

Please Visit Our Online Store: You asked, and we answered. We are now taking orders for The Official Paracast T-Shirt and an expanded collection of other specially customized merchandise. Believing in Ancient Prophesies
By Gene Steinberg

I suppose that, if all of the prophecies cited by some people actually came true, the world would have ended by now, and the “worthy” among us would have all been transported to another place where one lives forever without the petty needs of our current existence. But the world is still here, even though alleged UFO aliens were warning us about the consequences of humankind’s penchant for war decades ago. We didn’t listen to them, but the worst hasn’t happened, at least not yet.

Of course, when you have a prophecy expressed with the worldview of someone who lived hundreds or thousands of years ago, it can be a stretch to apply it to a present-day situation. You may find something that seems relevant in a general sense, and assume it must somehow apply. But does it?

Certainly the possibility that higher beings are due to return to save us from ourselves is part and parcel of many of these legends and prophecies. We get into a real mess, can’t figure a way out, but someone is there to pick us up, dust us off, and let us live on.

The larger question, though, is the mechanism by which those prophecies are delivered. Does some advanced race of beings truly know what is going to happen? And if they do see a time of extreme disaster from which we can be rescued, why do they wait? Every single day, untold numbers of humans die in natural disasters, or due to war, acts of terrorism, or criminal activities. If someone out there can protect us from further harm, why are they allowing it to happen? Free will?

Well, if we are entitled to act on our own behalf without intervention from others, why would they do anything to help us at all? Why choose a specific segment of the population? Well, some suggest some of us are chosen because we believe in the right deity, or behave in the correct fashion, at least according to their definition of correct.

One theory has it that humans were seeded by star beings from other worlds, or dimensions. So they are curious about our progress, and thus they return from time to time to see how we’re doing. If we are in danger of destroying ourselves, maybe they will help preserve their grand experiment. But perhaps it’s normal for spacefaring or dimension-faring beings to want to spread their seed around the galaxy. They find a world with suitable atmospheric conditions, and either create hybrid beings from the local gene pool, or simply create a new race.

Of course the issues of prophecy also impact one’s religion, and this is not intended to be a religious discussion. I’m thinking in terms of physical beings who have physical interactions of one sort or another with humans. Certainly primitive people would consider them to be deities from elsewhere, and it’s always possible those beings prefer to create that impression, or just allow us to interpret their presence in whatever way we prefer. Yes, that might have a religious implication, but it’s not an argument for or against the existence of God.

But the real question is whether the predictions of future events are real, good guesses, or just misinterpreted. If real, how would the ones who generate those predictions come by their information? Would they have the ability to foretell future events, or are they are time travelers who have been there and done that?

Perhaps there are even different possible futures, sort of a multiple reality scenario, where what our race does will impact future events in a way that alters those predictions, or results in having them take place in a parallel universe. Yes, I can see where things can get pretty complicated real fast.

Some of the ancient legends also speak of great civilizations of the past, such as Atlantis and Lemuria, where we attained amazing levels of spiritual and technological achievement, only to lose it all as the result of some terrible calamity, or because they lost their way. Unfortunately, proving such a civilization really existed, that it’s more than just a set of fanciful stories, is quite difficult. Yes, you can find curious relics around the world that may resemble possible flying ships of some sort. But we haven’t located the submerged remnants of an advanced civilization, although some claim to have found the final underwater remnants of Atlantis.

I suppose it’s possible those ancient civilizations weren’t even located on Earth at all, but their existence was conveyed to us by visitors from the stars, and we simply assumed it all happened here and not elsewhere.

As you can tell, I’m quite skeptical over the meaning and impact of those prophecies, even though some of you are convinced that events once predicted have truly to pass, and that we are even now on the verge of some incredible worldwide change, catastrophe, or whatever. Certainly the world seems to be on the brink once again. But we’ve been on the brink before, and there wasn’t any intervention from divine or galactic beings to get us back on the right path. How much abuse do we have to endure before we are rescued?

Or maybe such prophecies are meant as warning signs. Behave yourselves, or this is what might happen, since that may be what happened to other advanced civilizations that are no longer around. Is it possible those prophecies have been conveyed by refugees from that long-dead civilization, where they use their own sad experiences to worn us of the consequences of such follies?

But I can see where being rescued by higher beings has a romantic tinge to it. You can feel you are in a helpless situation, but you know something good might still come of it, if you only stay hopeful.
