This Week's Episode: Gene and special guest cohost Bob Zanotti feature Phyllis Galde, Editor and Publisher of FATE magazine. Although many magazines have sadly gone by the wayside, FATE remains the longest continually published paranormal magazine in the world. Six decades before the AMC’s Walking Dead, SyFy’s Paranormal Witness, late-night radio’s Coast to Coast AM, and countless websites, blogs, books, and movies began captivating audiences with true tales of the paranormal — there was FATE — a first-of-its-kind publication dedicated to in-depth coverage of mysterious and unexplained phenomena. This interview focuses on some of the key topics FATE has covered over the years, including UFOs, palmistry, ghosts, auras and other strange and unknown phenomena, including some of Phyllis' personal encounters.

After The Paracast — Available exclusively for Paracast+ subscribers on August 29: Gene and Bob have an extended chat on "Voices of the Past," the 1960's Ufology movement in New York City, which featured such notables as Jim Moseley, the field's unique "court jester," Dominic Lucchesi, August C. Roberts, John J. Robinson and even ancient astronaut pioneer Yonah Fortner. So did Robinson really befriend an artist who was once captured by the infamous deros of Richard Shaver fame? When Yonah spoke of his theories about extraterrestrials in Biblical times, was he just putting us on, or did he truly have a handle on our early history long before such authors as Eric Von Daniken became prominent? And just what did Yonah tell Gene about his involvement in the movie industry?

2021 Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
By Gene Steinberg

One hallmark of The Paracast is that we never stand still. While our primary focus on the strange and unknown remains the same, our presentation and cast has changed from time to time.

So as some of you have no doubt heard, J. Randall Murphy, our Paracast cohost since 2017, has decided to focus his attention on the ongoing political controversies over the pandemic and has left the show. We wish him well in his future pursuits.

So we have recruited a special line up of guest cohosts who will work with me on The Paracast going forward. They have all appeared as guests and cohosts in the past, so you’ll no doubt be familiar with them:

CURT COLLINS is the author behind Blue Blurry Lines, the website focused on the UFO mystery, as well as its legends and hoaxes. After a career in retail management Curt began writing about UFOs, with a special interest in re-investigating the paradoxical 1980 Texas Cash-Landrum case.

In 2015 Curt was on the investigative team, the Roswell Slides Research Group, that exposed the BeWitness alien photo fiasco. More recently, he launched The Saucers That Time Forgot with Claude Falkstrom, focused on unearthing “tales that UFO history has overlooked, or would rather forget.” Curt lives in the southern United States, near Jackson, Mississippi.

Curt has been featured in our forums for a number of years, and has appeared on The Paracast as both a guest and a guest co-host. He is also the main editor and webmaster at a site devoted to the memory of Ufology’s “court-jester,” the late Jim Moseley (https://www.jimmoseley.com).

TIM R. SWARTZ is an Indiana native and Emmy-Award winning television producer/videographer. He is also the author of a number of popular books including "The Lost Journals of Nikola Tesla," "America's Strange and Supernatural History," and "Time Travel: Fact Not Fiction!" For a number of years, Tim worked as a writer and editor with the late Timothy Green Beckley.

Tim is also the writer and editor of the online newsletter Conspiracy Journal; a free, weekly e-mail newsletter, considered essential reading by paranormal researchers worldwide.

BOB ZANOTTI, whose dulcet tones are also heard as our staff announcer, got interested in UFO’s back in the 50’s as a pre-teen. What got him started was Max B. Miller’s book “Flying Saucers – Fact or Fiction.”

Bob and Gene Steinberg became friends in the 1960’s when Bob hosted a New York college radio talk show called “Coffee Klatsch”, which was devoted to the offbeat and the paranormal. Gene was a frequent guest on the show, as were Jim Moseley and other great names from the New York City UFO group, including Dom Luchessi, Jack Robinson, August C. Roberts and Tim Beckley. Bob also featured interviews with Gray Barker, the MIB pioneer, Ivan T. Sanderson and the inimitable Yonah Fortner.

After broadcast journalism studies in New York and Montreal, Bob’s calling led him to Switzerland, where he was a full-time broadcast journalist and presenter at Swiss Radio International, Switzerland’s international shortwave station. During his 32 years with SRI, Bob also produced a number of features involving the paranormal and the esoteric.

Now in his 70’s and semi-retired, Bob continues his professional activity as the operator and editor of www.switzerlandinsound.com, which also contains a number of offbeat topics. There’s even an exclusive and very rare 52-minute-long interview in English with Billy Meier under “Interesting People.” Bob is also active as a voice-over artist, hence his announcements for The Paracast.

Bob is a firm believer in the existence of extraterrestrial life and that Earth has been and is still visited by ET, and that ET might actually be our creators. But he is open to other ideas, including the multi-dimensional theory and the time traveler theory. Having said that, Bob also believes that many reports of UFOs are actually test aircraft or otherwise quite normal phenomena, not to mention hoaxes or wishful thinking.

In the months to come, some of Bob’s unique Coffee Klatch episodes will be released exclusively for subscribers to The Paracast+.
