The house pictured is the Nautilus house, built in Mexico City in 2006 by Mexican architect Javier Senosian. Senosian is known for his organic and biomorphic forms. You can see this house and several others here:

This style of architecture, while definitely on the fringes of current practice, nonetheless has some significant adherents. Google Bart Prince and Bruce Goff and "organic architecture."
