Way too much has been made of the recent Stephen Hawkings statement

People have been making way too much of this IMO. I understand that in the UFO field even the slightest news is worth talking about, but the way many have been framing the Hawkings statement about aliens is somewhat inaccurate.

Don on a recent Friday episode with yourself and Rich, Rich was making the point of "why would he just come out and say this now?" A valid and interesting to question to discuss if Hawkings had actually sent out a press release or something.... but all that happened is he mentioned the stuff about aliens possible being hostile in a new documentary that he is in.

So for me thats a completely different thing.

Actually Hawking has stated this (that we should not engage with advanced ET's) for a number of years. I think this made a big splash now because this is airing now on the Nat Geo program.
