I don't recall any specific religions being left out or banned by the 1st Amendment. In a perfect United States, wouldn't they have just as much of a right as the Christians to post thier religious texts?

The point exactly and one reason for separation of church and state. There's not enough government related public space on earth to accommodate the number of monuments and mottoes needed to give everyone a chance to strut their personal philosophical stuff. But the concept of religion as a purely personal matter is utterly foreign in deep red segments of American society. Surprise surprise.
