The Paracast has a presence on MySpace

phantasmosxmagnum

Phantasmic wonders await
The Paracast is on MySpace?!

Well, with Gene's permission I setup a little presence on MySpace to help promote our favorite show. :D I had some free time and went to work on it but don't expect much since I'm no coder not even morse code! Ha-Ha! Plus, if David Biedny is the Yoda of Photoshop then I'm the JarJar Binks of the wannabes! LOL ;) I'm no MySpace expert but I set it up under MySpace Music so I could upload some audio in the form of edited episodes and teasers.

I've found quite a few fans there of the show and most of them listen regularly but never join the forums but possibly troll here on occasion. Let me know what you think even if it's negative and it's really up to Gene and David on what becomes of it. I'm open to suggestions, help or whatever and if there's someone here that would want to take it over in the near future let Gene know. Why? I've been out of work for 9+ months due to foot surgery and I had some free time to put towards it. Now that I'm all but fully recovered I'm seeking a full time job to get me back on my feet, no pun intended, and I may not be able to put as much time towards keeping it up.

For now, I'm able to tinker with it but Gene and David may want more from it than I can provide. Perhaps someone here would consider the thought by enhancing it and even making it more kick ass than my amateur version. ;) It would be totally a voluntary one and considered a freebie to help Gene and David promote the show.
I've never messed with Facebook so maybe someone here might want to setup a page there with Gene's approval and that would also help to spread the word.

If you just happened to have a page there and want to be a "friend" then login in to your MySpace account and we'll hook you up! I heard there's a Stanton Friedman MySpace page but it's really not him. There's lots of those fake ones around.

When you get a chance check it out! Oh, the background is something David really likes, BTW. :D

I have a page over there. Not much, but I'll send an invite. Always looking to promote this show.

Hey thanx a bunch! :D Yeah, I almost left it plain-jane but then the chocolate idea hit after I started toying around with Image Tricks on my Mac.
Here's a tie-dye one ;)

I'm on Facebook. I might be able to do a page.

IMO, don't worry about the fancy stuff. It just makes things harder to read.

I'm sure Gene wouldn't mind on that Facebook page and not at all. If there's anything I can help you with or send over to you just send a message. :D

What a great idea. Don't use Facebook, but I've just sent a friend invite via MySpace. Is there anything else any of us can do to promote the show? Would it be okay if I stole The Paracast logo and used it in my paranormal blog's sidebar, linking it back the main Paracast site?

If it were presented as a banner that linked back to our site, sure. :)

The Paracast would benefit from doing link exchanges I think. There's a lot of other radio shows out there that might be interested. This would bring in more people. I can contact some other shows and ask around if you want Gene. They'll want a link back to their site most likely though.

To a degree, perhaps. But we might just be reaching part of the same audience all over again. And too many banners on a site is off-putting.

We do limited exchanges, however.

I had Darkness on the Edge of Town in mind. They seem to have a huge audience and they've linked up with big sites like Ghost Hunters. A lot of people interested in the paranormal that don't know of this show could come over. Plus, their sponsors might see you there, and become interested.

I'm not a twitter user, but I have a friend who is and he swears it's a great way to communicate and broadcast his blog business. Even large companies have employees watching and participating.

Saw a recent story where a woman complained about her cable company's not being able to fix her cable line (in which her phone and computer were connected as well as TV) for several days. A rep from her cable company saw the complaint on twitter and had her cable line repaired the next day. That's just one story out of many from what I hear so twitter and new services like it are in touch with a large population.

I don't have the time, but if someone is interested, plugging The Paracast might get a lot of attention, hopefully from advertisers too???

Anyone interested in taking over the Paracast MySpace page?

Hi everyone,

Due to other "irons in the fire" and the usual personal distractions, I'm looking to pass on the MySpace account to someone with more time than I. You can message me here or send me an email to [email protected] and if Gene approves I'll set you up with the username & passwords for not only the MySpace account but for the Gmail and Photobucket ones I created to go along with it.

So what are those irons? I've been setting up to do my own podcasts, yeah that's with an "s" ;) among other things associated with that and in the shell of a nut: I've only recently nearly fully recovered from foot surgery and returning to the land of the working plus other minute time consuming & boring details. Ha-Ha!

Thanx and I hope that someone can make a better go at it too once they assume the responsibility since I'm not a HTML coder or any kind of expert in that field.

You or Gene send me a PM with what all would be expected of me and I'll consider it.

I'm not into html either though. From what all I've seen done at MS without it, I don't think it's needed though. Up to Gene.
