Yes, indeed! You should read this article about Trump’s Treasonous Traitor Summit.

Trump’s Treasonous Traitor Summit
This part sums it up nicely: "Apart from Trump making a narcissistic, word-salad-babbling jackass of himself, which he does on a more or less daily basis, nothing particularly apocalyptic happened." I wonder if anyone has bothered to do a comparison between Trump's seemingly nonsensical media bombs and the effect they have on his Aladdin micro trading platform?

The author of that rag conveniently forgets who Putin is and where Trump wants to bring the USA.

Sadly, as China is on the verge of overtaking the USA economically, some Americans have decided to aggressively clam up in a protective shell. If that trend is not reversed, the Putin solution will win and wannabe dictator Trump will be one.

It’s not about being liberal or conservative... it’s about defining decent limits of a culture, tolerance and working towards constructive dialogue.

This cannot be accomplished when the leader lies continuously without remorse and is working feverishly to destroy the foundations of your republic.

Steakhouse waiter employee lied about the note on his receipt that said "We do not tip terrorists". The out pour of sympathy from snowflake libtards gave this d-bag over $1000 - LOL. They should deport his ass....

Saltgrass Steak House Waiter Lied About "Terrorist" Note on Customer's Bill - Uncle Sam's Misguided Children

In this 'twilight zone' climate if you have to expect the worst on both extreme sides.

Doesn't mean you have to abandon the efforts to get back to a decent state of affairs... on both sides !. Getting triggered by extreme actions by stupid snowflake libtard idiots exploiting the current climate doesn't add anything to your argumentation.

You should know better and be inspired by centrist views (Get the f... off fox news).

History does repeat itself.

FDR is considered one of our greatest president’s – hell I grew up in Hyde Park, NY. He is adored and each year there is a touristy candlelight parade through town to commemorate a spontaneous event that occurred while the man was alive. Problem was that original march wasn’t a love fest; they were oiling the torches and sharpening the pitchforks because they hated the man with a passion that was hard to understand until recently. While in office many vilified FDR. Born to money and privilege, no connection to the peasants. Socialist of necessity. A shockingly bad administrator who lied so often and with such grace you can’t help but admire him for it. At the time there were extremist groups i.e. American Nazis and pie in the sky liberals who had equally unrealistic world views in the face of genuine existential threats. Oh, and he was beguiled by Josef Stalin and chose not to see, or more likely failed to for a number of reasons, what he really was. All our nuclear secrets out the window was one result of all that. He was also unavoidable and absolutely necessary to deal with at the time. Russian connection, well yeah there sure was then.

No, I am not comparing DT to FDR or anyone else and this isn’t the point behind this post. Not everyone that isn’t a rabid hater is a rabid supporter, but of course extremists can’t fathom that so if you are dumb enough to voice an opinion – like I was just dumb enough to do – you get it from both sides. God this thread is like a whirling fan blade; I need to leave it alone but can’t help wanting to stick my finger in it.

I am saying that there are precedents in our own past we have forgotten and that it takes time for history to make its judgement. No idea how people a century from now will view this era but we are certainly living in interesting times. My belief is that when all of the presidents I can remember voting for (or not) are examined they will all be found wanting.

I agree we are quite bad in general at remembering the past; I'd also say we're collectively pretty awful at trying to understand the perspective those in the past may have had.

It bugs me when we want to judge people of hundreds years in the past by our prevailing ethics. But - it's gonna happen. We all do it. I just wish we could have a little more appreciation for the context those people operated in and the pressures they were under. But we can barely do that for anyone living today, never mind someone who died 50 or 200 years ago.

And so long as I am griping, we seem to want the U.S. President to be a super being, but the role should never, IMHO, have accrued the powers and expectations that it has. You will never get a perfect paragon in that position, and sometimes every decision is going to hurt someone. Too many seem happy to ignore abuse when the team they're rooting for is on the top. It's human but, I fear we'll all come to regret it someday.

I hear that. We should apply it to ufology but don't. If we did it would make it harder to cherry pick bits & pieces to support some particular case, theory or what have you.

Fair enough, but not everyone who has an intense dislike is rabid either. Some of them actually have reasons. The same can probably be said for the Trump fans. It's just that my foaming rabies infected brain is blinding me to his huge magnificence.

My concern has less to do with politics and DT himself than the shockingly poor behavior of people on both sides of the equation. Some are just so absolutely right that they can't possibly behave in a civil fashion. Oh, and then blame anyone other than themselves for acting like a rabid fool with smug self-assured arrogance. And I mean that for BOTH sides of the equation. Sick of it.

Decades from now sociologists will probably ascribe a lot of this to what I call 'the immediacy of communication' and it's impact on our society. That's another matter. I'm concerned about right now.

Truthfully, I have yelled at people over things in the past. I have physically intimidated people in the past. Pretty good at it sometimes. Never over something as stupid as politics and I can tell you this with complete assurance; things like that might get you what you want in the short term but I have never, ever actually convinced anyone of anything by doing so other than the need to immediately get away from me. Usually that WAS the point but as I get older I look back and cringe at a few of the incidents.

I've had a few instances since this clown show started where I have been judged by my appearance when I am minding my own business and have had people treat me like sh** for absolutely no reason. Sick of it.

Forums are notorious for getting under people's skin. It's taken me a long time to learn how to deal with it, and sometimes simply taking a break is the best way to reduce that anxiety. If you honestly feel like you've been treated badly, feel free to report the post. One of us will look at it and if it is out of line it will be managed. There's more than me on the mod list though so if you want me specifically to deal with it, send me your concerns in a private conversation.

In the meantime politics reflect a lot about a person's worldview and sense of integrity. Consequently when someone is seen as supporting a politician with the sort of character that they feel is despicable, they see that supporter as equally despicable and they're prone to taking their frustrations out on them. This isn't entirely fair-minded as politicians often have us choose between what we see as the lesser of two evils. In some cases supporters also believe the propaganda and feel that they are doing the right thing when it's just an illusion.

In my experience I've also learned the hard way that settling things with facts and logic doesn't help to win most people over. Any opposition to their view is usually seen as attack on them personally, because they don't know how to separate an attack on the issues in question from an attack on the person. I've actually been banned here because I've been highly critical of certain positions taken by certain people, and they could not differentiate between my criticism of their issue and and an attack on them personally.

FWIW your posts seem fine to me. It looks like we have some differing views on politics, but so what? That's what facilitates progress. Nobody ever learned anything new by simply agreeing with people who think the same thing they do.

Thanks Randall, but in terms of being treated poorly I am most definitely NOT talking about forums. I am talking about in your face bad breath REAL stuff that just might lead to a physical altercation. It isn't unusual for people say things online that they never would in person, the problem is sometimes lately people DO start saying these things right in your face.

EDIT - and absolutely no way do I wear shirts, hats, have bumper stickers or anything else that identifies me with anything. The only material with a logo around me is a ball cap and it usually says something radical like Ford, Chevy and Harley Davidson. You don't like those you are obviously a subversive godless commie bastard.

IMHO, Obama was incredibly close to a perfect paragon.
Barack Obama - Wikipedia

The perfect guy for one of the worse time in US history. How easy is it to forget that a man of color (for those that actually notice these traits), Harvard Law School graduate, Illinois Senator for 4 years got us out of a catastrophic financial crisis (2008 market crash mostly caused by GW Bush deregulation policies). If you're up to speed you'll notice Trump's been riding on the coattails of Obama and taking all the credit. To boost the trend upwards, Trump is deregulating the market thus recreating the infrastructure that lead to the 2008 market crash. Unregulated, the market gains are artificial with the potential of an even greater collapse. You have fake news (as per Trump).... be prepared to swallow fake market gains.

Obama could have done a hell of a lot more but had reps of guys like ones in the video below to deal with (House and Senate). Essentially racists.

Since you wont hear about this in MSM (but you would have had the guy shot 10+ little kids). You're welcome :) Florida bystander shoots gunman who opened fire at back-to-school festival
We're led to assume by the circumstances that the gunman who was shot by the bystander was shooting at kids, but nobody but that shooter was injured. So what was the gunman shooting at? What was the motivation? A fistfight is mentioned, but there's no specifics or confirmation. One video of the bystander's statement says there were two guys and one was shooting at the other, so the kids weren't the target. So at this point, for all we know, the gunman could have been some undercover cop shooting at a bad guy he was trying to take down. More likely, it's probably something personal or maybe gang related. I imagine we'll get more details as it unfolds.

My point was only that these scenarios happen all the time but we rarely ever hear about it in MSM. It happened in my local mall like 1 week after I applied for a concealed weapons permit in Oregon (at the Clackamas Town Mall) - a guy (like me) with a concealed weapons permit saved the day. One news channel ran the interview with the hero (who was a young man in his 20's).

Something bizarre is happening in Canadian Politics: Saudi Arabia 'allergic to criticism', making example out of Canada, analysts say | CBC News

Saudi Arabia has dictated:

  • The expulsion of Canada's ambassador.
  • A freeze on "all new trade and investment transactions" between the two countries.
  • The suspension of all Saudi flights to and from Toronto.
  • An order for Saudi students to leave Canadian schools.
  • Plans to transfer all Saudi nationals receiving medical treatment in Canada to hospitals outside the country.

So How Bad Are Saudi Arabia's Human Rights Violations?

Now with all their human rights abuses, you'd think they'd have few friends, but guess what: The Latest: Trump says Saudi Arabia is a great friend to US
