The Most Credible UFO Research Sites

Yes, I can google. Yes, I can go read blogs. That is not what I am seeking at this juncture. I was seeking guidance on the most reliable on-line research websites for ufology. There are a lot of websites out there, but I am seeking authoritative, well-researched and informative details on all aspects of ufology. If anyone can suggest some, that you have heard about, or perhaps explored on your own, I would be indebted.

I think Inexplicata-The Journal of Hispanic Ufology is honest and interesting, other then that I am at a loss, sadly.

Thanks for that info. I was not familiar with that site. I am not necessarily new to the area, I read a lot of sites, but I am wanting to write an article and have not scrunitized the sources that much before. As anyone that is interested in the field knows, there can be inaccurate information presented very easily.

One of my favorites, just to read the stories, is the Humanoid Sighting Reports site. The archives stretch from the distant past to the present day. I'm not sure of the provenance of the reports, but they do give a much stranger portrait of the CE3K phenomenon than you would think from the mainstream literature.

I like the UFO Evidence website for case reference. There's a few skeptic articles there too, which is always a healthy thing.

The contributors are skeptical and knock on doors in search of 1st-hand witness accounts. If Nick Pope is the UK spiderman...Dr Clarke is his black nemesis. Be warned....this site will challenge a lot of preconceptions. Rendlesham etc.

Reality Uncovered has also set the bar very high when it comes to Ufology. These guys use a forensic approach and nailed the Serpo hoax. Not everyone's cup of tea...they back up their arguments with research, evidence and critical thinking. It isn't strictly UFOs, but people should read their research to see how much BS is leaking into the subject. Stephen Broadbent of RA was part of a Paracast interview with Redfern...

UFO Evidence and http://www.ufologie.net/indexe.htm are far and away the pedigree UFO incident collection sites. Documents, images and op-eds by some of the best guys in Ufology. UFOevidence has been going offline a lot recently...ufologie is more reliable.

http://www.ufoafrinews.com/ is an older site that features 22 pdfs of UFO reports and research by the late Cynthia Hind in Africa. It's the most underused UFO resource imo...it's almost never cited.

WATER UFO - A RESEARCH ENDEAVOR is another overlooked site. Not pretty...but a lot of interesting evidence is hiding in here.

You might like to check out the "Society for Scientific Exploration". From the website:

There are tons and tons of articles here by Jacques Vallee, Bruce Macabee and others. Its rather academic which is a good thing in a way. I've yet to go through it all ... there's so much here of interest for me.

Not mentioned yet is The Black Vault. Well known in UFO circles, it has lots of documents from MUFON journals and news clippings to all sorts of other bits and bobs:

Greg is of course a very good friend of mine, as is fellow UFO Mystic contributor Nick Redfern, but that won't stop me from concurring wholeheartedly - their work there is must-read stuff when they delve into the mystery.

I would also recommend the late Mac Tonnies' site Posthuman Blues - http://www.posthumanblues.blogspot.com. Go there, and type "UFO" into the search engine.

I have just had time to check back into the forum and this thread. Maybe a couple of the sites that you have mentioned, I am familiar with, but the rest I was not. I suppose I could have went through trial and error, but your gracious help has escalated my research greatly.

As noted by my posts, I am new posting to the site. One thing I have noticed that you have a strong support system in ufology, and thus interest and knowledge from the various posters. I like that.

It looks like I know what I will be doing next.. . . ..checking out some websites.

I've been getting a lot of academic papers from Academia.edu on the subject of UFO's. It's an exceptional resource site that has increased its volume of academic papers on paranormal topics substantially, specifically in the area of UFO studies. There's a lot of historical publications that are available there and this very recent article is probably the most contemporary and thorough I've come across regarding the history of UFO research methodologies. It clocks in around 90 pages, not including the hefty appendix and reference sections of the text. There are some interesting historical cases presented along the way and even includes a nod to Christopher O'Brien's sky observation system he helped develop.
