The golden crocodile

I just thought I'd share this one for what it's worth.

My wife had lost a small golden crocodile charm somewhere in the house, we searched everywhere for it including in the bed, in the sheets, blankets and pillows, but it was nowhere to be found. My wife left for work upset that the charm had disappeared, I told her I would search again and let her know if it showed up. I re-searched the bedding and actually took the sheets and blankets off of the bed. I took the pillow cases off of the pillows and shook everything to make sure the charm hadn't hooked itself up on a loose thread. I then remade the bed and got ready to leave for work.
When I went back in to the bedroom to get my watch, I noticed something glinting in the center of my wife's pillow. The crocodile charm was in the middle of the pillow like it had been placed there, it wasn't hooked on anything and was sitting loosely in place.

Since my wife had left for work I had been home alone, the charm definitely wasn't on the pillow when either of us searched the bedding, nor was it there when I stripped the bed.

We have not told many people about this, or the other odd things that had happend in the house, we know these things happened and frankly don't care if anyone else believes us about them.

My parents house has similar things happening from time to time. Things aren't where they were left and turn up again a few days later. A recent one (this year) had my mum making a cake and looking for the whisks. She keeps them in a drawer. Well, they weren't there so she looked all over the place for them without luck. She asked my dad if he'd used them for some wacky reason. He hadn't.

Couple of days later, she's bought two new ones and gets home to put them in the drawer. You guessed it...the others were in there already.

They have a very small room...not much bigger than a single bed. People who've slept in there have been startled by something scuttling over the pillow right next to their head. I've had it happen maybe a handful of times (years ago). It's weird. The door and window is closed, there are no mice...

I get events like yours in bursts and quite a bit of Deja vu. It is nice when it happens and it mostly results in finding things that are lost and not things disappearing.

I like the story of the engagement ring that is dropped and returns to the family when one of them bites an apple and finds it inside.

I feel fate has a plan for me and I just need to hear it.

The scuttling thing on the pillow-

I was laying in bed - awake- with my eyes closed, I felt something small jump up on to the bed and walk lightly along side me and then onto the pillow beside me. Thinking it was our small dog, I turned to tell it to get off of the bed, but when I opened my eyes there was nothing there and I could har the dog moving around down stairs.

When my wife was a teenager she slept in a small out building about 12 metres away from the main house. She awoke several times with the feeling of someone stroking her hair. She says she never felt threatened or scared when this happened. Occasionally a friend would sleep over and on one particular night the friend woke up screaming that someone was in the room and that they'd been stroking her hair.

A short while after my wife moved out of home, her brother moved into her old room. He told us years later that he'd been woken sometimes by someone stroking his hair, but when he turned the light on , he was alone in the room.

Neither my wife's friend, or her brother had been told about my wife's experience in the room and to the best of our knowledge her friend and her brother had never mentioned to each other (they barely spoke to one another).

After we'd lived for a while in the house where the croc thing took place, my wife had several instances of feeling her hair was being stroked or that someone was smelling her hair, this happened when I was away from home at work and when she was alone in the house.

That's fairly creepy about stroking hair. Too intimate for comfort I expect.

Possibly the creepiest thing that happened at my parents house was this...

I was sleeping over and spent the night in my brother's old room. Around five in the morning, I woke up feeling hot and then cold. I was sweating and couldn't get back to sleep. As I lay there, I suddenly felt something kind of patter on my feet through the duvet. My reaction was a feeling of shock and deep terror....panic! It might sound stupid, but I was too scared to open my eyes in case I saw something there. After a while I turned on the bedside lamp and lay awake until daylight. It was years ago and I haven't slept there since.

Months later, I was working with my dad. As we were driving to or from the job, he told me he'd slept in my brother's room a few days earlier. Either he'd disturbed my mum's sleep or she'd disturbed his...I can't recall that detail. Whatever the reason, he slept there that night.

He told me he woke up around five AM feeling hot and then cold. As he lay there he suddenly had a feeling of horror/terror. Straight away, something pattered on the duvet near his feet. He basically panicked and leapt out of bed and left the room in a flash.

In the hours after it happened to me, I rationalised the incident and thought I could have imagined it or dreamed it all. When my dad told me his account it left me wondering if what I think happened really happened. Neither of us have slept in the room since. Even now, just remembering that night makes me shudder.
