American Jesus

I don't need to be a global citizen,
'Cause I'm blessed by nationality,
I'm a member of a growing populace,
We enforce our popularity
There are things that seem to pull us under and
There are things that drag us down,
But there's a power and a vital presence
That's lurking all around

We've got the American Jesus
See him on the interstate,
We've got the American Jesus
He helped build the president's estate

I feel sorry for the earth's population
'Cause so few live in the U.S.A,
At least the foreigners can copy our morality,
They can visit but they cannot stay,
Only precious few can garner our prosperity,
It makes us walk with renewed confidence,
We've got a place to go when we die
And the architect resides right here

We've got the American Jesus
Bolstering national faith
We've got the American Jesus
Overwhelming millions every day

He's the farmers' barren fields, (In God)
He's the force the army wields, (We trust)
He's the expression on the faces of the starving millions, (Because he's one of us)
The power of the man. (Break down)
He's the fuel that drives the Klan, (Cave in)
He's the motive and the conscience of the murderer (He can redeem your sin)
He's the preacher on TV, (Strong heart)
He's the false sincerity, (Clear mind)
He's the form letter that's written by the big computer, (And infinitely kind)
He's the nuclear bombs, (You lose)
He's the kids with no moms (We win)
And I'm fearful that he's inside ME (He is our champion)

We've got the American Jesus
See him on the interstate
We've got the American Jesus
Exercising his authority
We've got the American Jesus
Bolstering National faith
We've got the American Jesus
Overwhelming millions every day

Title: McConnell Proposes Cheap, Government-Backed Mortgages to Stimulate Economy
Source: Fox News

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell on Monday demanded an amendment to the mammoth economic stimulus package to give government-backed, low-interest loans to homeowners -- a revision that he says will both increase the demand for houses and boost the average household income.
"We believe that a stimulus bill must fix the main problem first and that's housing," McConnell told reporters Monday in introducing a plan to offer fixed mortgages of 4 percent to "any credit-worthy borrower."
According to McConnell, his plan would allow the average family to see its monthly mortgage payment drop by $466 a month, or $5,600 a year. He said in a radio address Saturday that over the life of a 30-year loan, that's a savings of $167,760.
The House passed an $819 billion version of Obama's stimulus proposal last week and the Senate version being debated this week is even larger -- $900 billion. But most troubling to Republicans -- and even some Democrats -- is that no money is allocated in the proposal to go directly toward foreclosure relief and the housing crisis, aside from a $7,500 tax credit for first-time home buyers.
Lowered-mortgage payments would put more disposable income into the hands of recession-battered households, McConnell said on the same day a staggering report showed consumer spending fell for a record sixth straight month in December.
Last October, the government created the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) to purchase or insure up to $700 billion of "troubled" assets from banks and other financial institutions in an effort to encourage banks to resume lending at levels seen before the economic downturn. But banks have been slow to lend, in part because many Americans cannot afford current mortgage costs and have committed to saving their money rather than spending it.
A similar proposal to McConnell's to offer government-backed low-income loans was made by home builders last October, but the plan -- which applied only to first-time home owners -- garnered little support.
McConnell has now expanded the idea to include millions more homeowners, including those looking to refinance.
But the Senate minority leader's proposed tonic to boost the economy might make a damaged financial system even worse, some economic analysts say.
"McConnell's 4 percent proposal would allow for several trillions of dollars of mortgages to be refinanced and that would overwhelm the mortgage system," said Bert Ely, President of Ely and Company, a financial institutions and monetary policy consulting firm.
"It might sound good, conceptually, but it's simply not feasible and would have a lot of unintended consequences," he said.
Ely said McConnell's plan would be costly for taxpayers as it would require a lot of labor and expense to implement it. And it would offer little financial relief to renters or people who already own their homes, he said.
"It would be very disruptive to the banks," Ely added. "One of the major problems they have right now is finding the right borrowers, and McConnell's proposal would pull a lot of lending from their books."
Ely said it would be a lot simpler to for the government to send people a mortgage check instead.
"It's a terrible idea," added John Tamney, a senior economist at H.C. Waintright Economics in Washington.
"I've always voted Republican, but Republicans have lost their mind on this. It would put more money into the debt economy. The more money that goes there, the less money there is for the entrepreneurial economy," Tamney said.
But McConnell said the proposal, developed by former Bush economic adviser Glenn Hubbard, would make a difference for families as would tax cuts that lower the 10 percent rate to 5 percent and the 15 percent rate to 10 percent.
"We also think a second part of a package that will actually do the job, that is -- that is timely, temporary and targeted, would put money back in people's hands directly," he said.
He added that he would not like to see the rest of the TARP money being used to decide winners and losers in the financial markets.
"I do, at the risk of being redundant, think that we ought not to start ... dictating everything they can do in their businesses. That's not a great way for them to recover; it's not a great way for them to raise private capital if they're really not running the business, we are," he said.

Despite a near collapse that required $45 billion in federal taxpayer bailout funds, Bank of America sponsored a five day carnival-like affair just outside the Super Bowl stadium this past week as President Obama decried wasteful spending on Wall St. .

bread and circuses, Tommy.

And, CapnG -- seriously, do you think there really is that level of control and disassociation with some group of powerful people? That is very, very scary. To what end?

Control is an end unto itself, Bob. You have to understand, what you and I consider "wealth" is meaningless to these people. Money, at a cetain level behaves like a virus, replicating all by itself through investments, interest payments, kick-backs, etc. That leads one to become bored and jaded VERY quickly. When you can have everything, how can you be satisfied by ANYTHING? And how can you see yourself as part of the common populace?

Do you remember when Bush I was president and he was doing his PR rounds? He famously went to a supermarket, stopped at the checkout and asked the cashier "What's that?" pointing to the UPC scanner. That's how disconnected they are.

It seems to me if that is true, they would be just as happy having machines (when that becomes possible) run the earth and do away with humanity.

What do you think we are? What do you think the human genome project was about? Robots are expensive to develop, difficult to maintain and can be unpredictable. Humans are self-sustaining and readily controlled.

That's what stops them from simply exterminating us. That and the fact they are constantly squabbling amongst themselves. It's to our advantage that vicious competitiveness is inherent to their psychosis.

Treasury needs to borrow $493B in current quarter

WASHINGTON — The Treasury Department said Monday it will need to borrow $493 billion in the first three months of this year, a record amount for the January-March period.
The Treasury Department figure comes on top of $569 billion the government borrowed from October through December, the all-time high for any quarter.
The huge amounts of borrowing in the first six months of the budget year reflect the impact of soaring costs to cover the $700 billion financial rescue program and a deepening recession that has cut into tax revenues.
The department estimated that its borrowing needs will drop to $165 billion in the April-June quarter, a period when the government's coffers swell from people paying their income taxes.
Treasury's estimates include the cost of funding the $700 billion financial bailout program that Congress passed on Oct. 3, but do not include the cost of President Barack Obama's more than $800 billion economic stimulus plan.
For the budget year that began Oct. 1, the Treasury's borrowing needs are expected to reach an all-time high, reflecting a budget deficit projected to hit a record above $1 trillion. That will far exceed the current all-time, a deficit of $454.8 billion in the budget year that ended Sept. 30.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has estimated this year's deficit will hit $1.19 trillion, a figure that does not include the cost of Obama's stimulus package. The price tag of the stimulus package approved by the House last week was $819 billion in tax cuts and increased government spending over two years. The Senate took up a $900 billion version on Monday.
Obama made a fresh appeal to Congress to quickly pass the proposal, saying Monday that "very modest differences" should not delay its swift passage because fresh money is needed to combat what is already the longest recession in a quarter-century.
Treasury's latest report on its borrowing needs included a new estimate from Wall Street bond dealers who projected that the total deficit for 2009 will hit $1.63 trillion.
Besides the cost of Obama's stimulus package, the administration also is considering boosting the $700 billion financial rescue package in the belief that the remaining $350 billion in the program will not be enough to stabilize the banking system, which is still reeling from billions of dollars of losses in mortgages and other bad loans.

Title: After $25 Billion Bailout, Wells Fargo Goes to Vegas

After $25 Billion Bailout, Wells Fargo Goes to Vegas
Wells Fargo, once one of the nation's top subprime mortgage lenders, is still planning a corporate retreat for its top mortgage officers in Las Vegas even though it took $25 billion of taxpayer money from the government.
WASHINGTON -- Wells Fargo & Co., which received $25 billion in taxpayer bailout money, is planning a series of corporate junkets to Las Vegas casinos this month.
Wells Fargo, once among the nation's top writers of subprime mortgages, has booked 12 nights at the Wynn Las Vegas and its sister hotel, the Encore Las Vegas beginning Friday, said Wynn spokeswoman Michelle Loosbrock. The hotels will host the annual conference for company's top mortgage officers.
The conference is a Wells Fargo tradition. Previous years have included all-expense-paid helicopter rides, wine tasting, horseback riding in Puerto Rico and a private Jimmy Buffett concert in the Bahamas for more than 1,000 employees and guests.
"I was amazed with just how lavish it was," said Debra Rickard, a former Wells Fargo mortgage employee from Colorado who attended the events regularly until she left the company in 2004. "We stayed in top hotels, the entertainment was just unbelievable, and there were awards -- you got plaques or trophies."
While the nation's recession has led other banks, such as Bank of America, to cancel employee recognition outings, Wells Fargo has not.
"Recognition events are still part of our culture," spokeswoman Melissa Murray said. "It's really important that our team members are still valued and recognized."
Corporate retreats have attracted criticism since the bank bailout last fall. Congress scolded insurance giant American International Group Inc. for spending $440,000 on spa treatments for executives just days after the company took $85 billion from taxpayers.
AIG has since canceled all such outings.
Beginning Feb. 25, Wells Fargo's insurance division is hosting a 40-person team meeting at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
Murray did not immediately have details about the size or cost of the events or what was planned
In previous years, top loan officers were treated to performances by Cher, Jay Leno and Huey Lewis. One year, the company provided fortune tellers and offered camel rides, Rickard said.
Every night when employees returned to their rooms, there was a new gift on their pillows, she said.
Wells Fargo Chairman Richard Kovacevich has traditionally greeted every employee personally when they arrived.
Rooms at the Wynn and the Encore are consistently among the most expensive in Las Vegas.
The $2.3 billion Encore opened in December as sister hotel to the Wynn. Its decor includes a 27-foot Asian dragon made from 90,000 Swarovski crystals and artwork by Colombian artist Fernando Botero. One of the restaurants features Frank Sinatra's 1953 Oscar.
Both properties have high-end retail stores, including Manolo Blahnik at Wynn and Chanel at Encore.

Title: [Senior] Obama [Policy Advisor]: [Robert] Malley Connection to Iran, Syria and Hamas

Again we hear of President Barack Obama’s diplomatic outreaches to Syria and Egypt, weeks and months before he won the November 4th election and became the U.S. President-elect. This is old news but not well reported news. Photos and video below.
A February 1, 2009 report from The Middle East News says that Obama has used “experts within the last few months to hold high-level but discreet talks with both Iran and Syria…,” and they acknowledge that these talks were ongoing before the elections.
Nuclear non-proliferation experts had several “very, very high-level” contacts in the last few months with Iranian leaders, said Jeffrey Boutwell, executive director for the US branch of the Pugwash group, an international organization of scientists which won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1995.
Former defense secretary William Perry, who served in Obama’s election campaign, participated in some of these meetings focused on “a wide range of issues that separate Iran from the West: not only their nuclear program but the Middle East peace process, Persian Gulf issues,” Boutwell told AFP.
The next line in the report says that the Pugwash official declined to name the other participants, except to say they had considerable clout.
That is probably the real story here: the “unnamed” participants, acting on behalf of an unelected Barack Obama, in the Middle East.”
There are some clues to one person who likely took part in these talks. His name is Robert Malley and he is very close to our new President.
He is close enough that Barack Obama hired him, then had to fire him in Spring 2008 because Malley’s cozy relationship with Hamas was revealed…by Hamas. The problem, though, to Senator Obama seemed not to be that Malley was “connected,” but that Malley’s close contact was revealed…in otherwords, he got caught.
(IsraelNN.com) Hamas is claiming close and ongoing ties with America’s upcoming Obama Administration, according to a report published Tuesday in the Arabic-language newspaper Al-Hayat. The relationship was kept under wraps until after the U.S. elections so as not to harm Obama’s election prospects. The U.S. has classified Hamas a terrorist organization.
Denials of Malley’s influence inside the Obama campaigned were quickly issued.
Six months later, November 5, 2008 to be exact, Middle East Newsline’s Washington office quoted Obama aides saying that Obama had dispatched his “senior foreign policy adviser, Robert Malley” to Egypt and Syria “over the last few weeks.
Aides said Obama had sent senior foreign policy adviser Robert Malley to Egypt and Syria over the last few weeks to outline the Democratic candidate’s policy on the Middle East. The aides said Malley, who served in the administration of President Bill Clinton as Senior Policy Advisor at the Center for Middle East Peace and Economic Cooperation, at the relayed a pledge from Obama that the United States would seek to enhance relations with Cairo as well as reconcile with Damascus.
The tenor of the messages was that the Obama administration would take into greater account Egyptian and Syrian interests, an aide said.
Malley was “fired” just long enough to drop off the political radar until Obama had the power of the election behind him. It took less than a day to announce Malley as a senior policy advisor.
So what is the problem with Robert Malley? He was born in Cairo, Egypt to an Egyptian father (or some reports say Syrian) and an American mother. He grew up in France. His father, Simon Malley is said to be Jewish, but he lived his life for anti-Israel activism (as does the Jewish George Soros). The Malley parents were close friends and confidantes of Yassar Araft, and were sympathizers of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). He was an outspoken critic of Western Imperialism. Simon Malley and his family was expelled from France for publishing a radical magazine about Africa. It seems the magazine issued “genuine appeals to murder foreign heads of States.” He was expelled to the U.S.
The New York Times said:
Afrique-Asie, which is issued every other month, has strongly backed leftist revolutionary movements, criticized moderate African and Middle Eastern leadership and denounced Israel. (NYT, Oct. 4, 1980)
Yassar Arafat protested the expulsion order to the French Government.
Back to Robert Malley who is the head of a Middle East policy think-tank, International Crisis Group, funded by anti-Israel billionaire, George Soros.
The world in which Robert Malley grew up was one in which Yasir Arafat, Fidel Castro, Leonid Brezhnev and Todor Zhivkov were heroes, any American leader – even Jimmy Carter! – was villainous, and Israeli leaders were veritable demons.
So we cannot blame Robert Malley for Simon Malley’s views, but…Robert Malley wrote about this world, at least to some extent, in his book The Call from Algeria: Third Worldism, revolution and the turn to Islam, and in no way did he denounce or renounce it.
To be clear, Obama did not confirm in the recent report in Middle East News, that Malley was the contact, but considering that Obama DID announce Malley as his senior foreign policy adviser, it’s reasonable to believe that Malley is among those unnamed officials having “clout.”
So who in the Obama administration will advocate for Israel?

"There is an Eastern tale that speaks about a very rich magician who had a great many sheep. But at the same time this magician was very mean. He did not want to hire shepherds, nor did he want to erect a fence about the pasture where the sheep were grazing. The sheep consequently often wandered into the forest, fell into ravines and so on, and above all, they ran away, for they knew that the magician wanted their flesh and their skins, and this they did not like.
At last the magician found a remedy. He hypnotized his sheep and suggested to them, first of all, that they were immortal and that no harm was being done to them when they were skinned; that on the contrary, it would be very good for them and even pleasant; secondly he suggested that the magician was a good master who loved his flock so much that he was ready to do anything in the world for them; and in the third place, he suggested that if anything at all were going to happen to them, it was not going to happen just then, at any rate not that day, and therefore they had no need to think about it. Further, the magician suggested to his sheep that they were not sheep at all; to some of them he suggested that they were lions, to some that they were eagles, to some that they were men, to others that they were magicians. After this all his cares and worries about the sheep came to an end. They never ran away again, but quietly awaited the time when the magician would require their flesh and skins."

The assholes in our Senate passed the so called "Stimulus" package.

I'm trying to figure out how it is, that Studying Reparations stimulates the Economy. How about Abortions and Birth Control for Africa? How does that stimulate the economy?

Water Fountains here in Minnesota, to the tune of Half a Million Dollars, How in the fuck does that stimulate the economy? Does it create jobs? NO. We need to immediately impeach, indict, and incarcerate every one of these Baby Boomer Government Traitors for Treason.

This so called President we have is another fucking joke. Today I saw his sorry ass evangelizing, that's exactly what it was, Evangelizing on the tube, getting people to suck his balls over this stimulus package. If I see one more fucking loser from Florida talking about how much she loves Obama, and how much she hates the idea of our oil companies drilling for oil, WHILE THE CHINESE ARE DOING EXACTLY THAT, I will probably put my boot through the screen.

I saw some other dumb cunt mouthing the words "I Love You" to Obama. If this isn't proof the man is the Anti-Christ, I don't know what is. I am so sickened inside by this outright TREASON by our government.

They are wasting another 2 Trillion dollars on Bank Bailouts and so called Toxic Debt. We have officially become a Socialist Nation. National Socialism has come to America. The Baby Boomers destroyed everything that their parents, the so called "Greatest Generation" ever fought for and died for.

I can't wait for the Ayers' plan to kick in, so that the rolling death camps can get up and running.

America has EXACTLY what it deserves.

Here's something odd, I can't see Mike's post. I don't have him on ignore either.

Okay, there appears to be a problem with the thread. I can see my posts, but nobody else's after post 69. I only have one person on ignore.

Weird.

i had problems just after posting, couldnt see site at all, i assumed my post had simply been deleted, since it was a tounge in cheek response anyway, if thats not the case then there is prob some glitch

That's just weird. I saw that Mike had posted to the thread, but when I opened it up, no Mike commentary.

I then posted, and it said Mike had posted the latest comment. I refreshed, and it was the same. I typed a response, no Mike.

Weird.

100 lines on the blackboard....
i must not post from the 4th dimesnion
i must not post from the 4th dimesnion
i must not post from the 4th dimesnion....

again, i suspect the post was simply deleted, it was a meme image that may not have "unzipped" itself fully, thus presenting itself as irrelevant to the topic.

Title: GLOBAL TAX! SENATE BILL S. 2433 ACTION ALERT

GLOBAL TAX! SENATE BILL S. 2433 ACTION ALERT!
According to David Bossie, President of the group 'Citizens United for American Sovereignty based out of Merrifield , Virginia , website:Citizens United :: Dedicated to restoring our government to citizen control.
The above mentioned Senate Bill (S. 2433) is a piece of legislation in the works that all Americans need to know about...and know now! This Bill, sponsored by none other than our "President elect" Sen. Barrack Obama, with the backing of Joe Biden on the Foreign Relations Committee, and liberal democrats in Congress, is nothing short of a massive giveaway of American wealth around the world, and a betrayal of the public trust, because, if passed, this bill would give over many aspects of our sovereignty to the United Nations.
The noble sounding name of this bill, "The Global Poverty Act" is actually a Global Tax, payable to the United Nations, that will be required of all American taxpayers. If passed in the Senate, the House has already passed it, this bill would require the U.S. to increase our foreign aid by $65 BILLION per year, or $845 BILLION over the next 13 years! That's on top of the billions of dollars in foreign aid that we already pay out! In addition to the economic burdens this potential law would place on our precarious economy, the bill, if passed in the Senate, would also endanger our constitutionally protected rights and freedoms by obligating us to meet certain United Nations mandates. According to Senator Obama, we should establish these United Nations' goals as benchmarks for U. S. spending. What are they? The creation of a U.N. International Criminal Court having power to try and convict American citizens and soldiers without any protection from the U.S. Constitution.
A standing United Nations Army forcing U.S. soldiers to serve under U.N. command. A Gun Ban on all small arms and light weapons...which would repeal our Second Amendment right to bear arms. The ratification of the " Kyoto " global warming treaty and numerous other anti-American measures. Recently, the Senate Subcommittee on Foreign Relations (where Sen. Joe Biden sits) approved this plan by a voice vote without any discussion! Why all the secrecy? If Senators Obama and Biden are so proud of this legislation, then why don't they bring it out into the light of day and let the American people have a look at it instead of hiding it behind closed doors and sneaking it through Congress for late night votes? It may be only a matter of time before this dangerous legislation reaches a floor vote in the full body of the Senate.
Please write or call, email your representatives, the White House, the media, or anyone you think will listen, and express your opinions regarding this Global Tax giveaway and betrayal of the American people at a time when our nation and our people are already heavily burdened with the threats of our freedom and economic prosperity.

Aides said Obama had sent senior foreign policy adviser Robert Malley to Egypt and Syria.....So what is the problem with Robert Malley? He was born in Cairo, Egypt to an Egyptian father (or some reports say Syrian) and an American mother. He grew up in France.

How is this a problem? Surely it makes sense to talk to countries in the middle east and since when is it a crime to be born in Egypt?

Simon Malley is said to be Jewish, but he lived his life for anti-Israel activism (as does the Jewish George Soros). The Malley parents were close friends and confidantes of Yassar Araft, and were sympathizers of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). He was an outspoken critic of Western Imperialism.

Many Jewish people are critical of Israel as are many non Jewish people. There is no difference between the terrorists and the IDF. In fact the IDF killed many more people than the terrorists ever did. If you were a Palestinian I suspect you would also see Arafat as a hero. I am not saying that terrorism is right but similarly the oppression and constant humiliation of an occupied indigenous population is also not right. During WW2 when the Germans were occupying France, the French resistance was a "terrorist" group. Few would consider them as such now. Every time the IDF kills a Palestinian they create at least a dozen new terrorists who will be intent on revenge. If you use violence and intimidation against people you can't really complain when fear and violence come back and bite you in the backside. I only hope that somehow, sometime a solution is found and the cycle of violence ends but I don't see how.

Tommy, I have to admit I'm disappointed in you. If America is ever to move on then these simplistic attitudes which I would consider to be a form of casual racism and colonialism have to change. If not terrorism will continue to flourish and the world will spiral into ever greater violence. People are the same the world over. Most of them want to live their lives as free people with a decent quality of life - as we all do.

Governments and the MIC (Military Industrial Complex) are different. They are only interested in serving themselves and it is often in their interests to perpetuate conflict as it helps to increase their power and their profits. I am not convinced that Obama can do any of the great things he promised because many of them would conflict with the MIC and corporate interests. If he really does try to change things then I suspect the vested interests will have him removed either via political scandal or the JFK method.

That sort of thing happens to me every now and then. Don't know why.

I'm not sure how protesting a global tax is racism. I'm all for other countries prospering. I just don't want to have to pay for someone else's dreams to come true.

I had to work for everything I have. These poor nations that we've literally pissed away money on, have had their shot. They had bad leaders, and by allowing their bad leaders to stay in power, they have deprived their people of any kind of prosperity.

My attitude towards the rest of the world is very simple. America has its own problems. Before we go off telling people how to live, and throwing money at their problems, it might be a better idea to fix our OWN problems first so we can actually be helpful.

My attitude towards Israel is also very simplistic. Israel should be free to do whatever is necessary to protect itself from all enemies. My attitude towards the rest of the world is also simplistic. If you need to borrow money so your people can eat, get rid of the leadership that drove your country into the toilet.

You might be disappointed in my attitude towards the rest of the world, but I'm a big believer that if you buy someone a fish, you feed them for a day. If you buy them another fish, they have no reason to fix their situation. If you try to teach some lazy fuck to fish, and they don't want to learn, let them starve to death until they get with the program.

The third world is the way it is, due to poor leadership of those respective countries. We've tossed literally Trillions in foreign aid to the third world, and we're still throwing money at them, because they aren't interested in learning how to make their countries better. Not when there's America to pay them to stay dependent.
