Odd topic for the Paracast...I know. Maybe it'd best be a topic for part of a show on ancient mysteries.

Were there giants in the past? There's tons of lore that bones were discovered and suppressed etc.

I'm afraid that most of what's out there on the topic is creationists with a biblical axe to grind.

So I'd like a show about ancient giants, what we know, what's total crap etc.

I think this is an ok idea for no other reason than the fact that I would like to hear an interview w/ Steve Quayle that included actual "hard questioning" on the part of the radio hosts, something that I think that David and Gene would bring to the table. Because honestly I am sick of interviews with this shitbird where, pretty much, the only contribution the host makes is to say "Oh wow" or "Oh my Awesome". (George Noory, what a crack "interviewer" the guy is huh?)

I have an open mind, but, if you are going to make claims that there are 20 and 30 foot giants with 6 fingers in contemporary times that are cannibalistic and have been captured by the U.S. military I require more than just your word.

Extraordinary (ridiculous) claims, require extraordinary evidence.

:) One time, Ian Punnett did an interview with Quayle, & it got somewhat heated (for C2C), that is - & then the next time Punnett was on, he felt badly that he had given Quayle a hard time . . .

Yeah, I remember Pixelsmith asking for a show on giants as well (think that thread is linked to) As much as I am intrigued about giants or giant stories, I just don't think there is anything to it. There is no physical evidence that anyone can see. We always hear about so and so who saw a giant skeleton in South America or something, but we never see anything even close to tangible (unfortunately).

The Greeks used to potray their gods as giants. And it even turns out that some large bones were set to rest apparently being part of their chosen gods body. But what we find is that certain parts of Greece giant skeletal remains are often churned up and found. It would be quite natural that the ancients would either confuse them, or proclaim them, to be from their gods. But this isn't the case. They were remains of long dead megafauna.

There are lots of stories, even in the US, but still to this date no physical evidence. Even so, I still like a good giant story, but just for the science fiction aspect. Six fingers and toes, double rows of teeth, and massive proportions make for an interesting story. I just don't see any truth to it.

That's why the Breitenwinner cave thing intrigues me. There is video and a bone they brought back that seems legit... they are trying to get qualified researchers access to the cave based on findings found from the bone, last I heard. That's why I'd like a follow up.

i see truth to it.
i know a giant. sure, Igor (his real name) has a medical problem but he is proof people can get quite tall.
meet igor from rochester, mn. obama's biggest supporter - Sportsbetting Forums | Offshore Sportsbooks & Online Sports Picks

I guess I'm thinking out of the realm of human genetic diversity. Even Golliath was reported to be 12 feet tall. So it depends what we're talking about. 7 Feet is pretty tall, 7'8 even taller, but as you get taller you're not able to do much because of gravity and physical limitations.

But the reported giants were able to manuever themselves like modern day athletes, swinging giant clubs, beating the shit out of people, running them down and so on. If an 8 foot person was running after me I could easily get away because they couldn't run worth a crap and they would undoubtedly injure themselves in the process of doing so. But then again I could run like the wind with a freaking giant after me.

i think we may have to factor in enhancement of the old stories as well. i could swear igor is 9 feet tall when standing next to him. he is in fact a slow person. very slow. i know i could out run him for sure.
