Former MUFON International Director James Carrion, a previous guest on The Paracast, has spoken out about his tenure there, and his reaction to the current disputes in which the organization is involved.

We've invited James to return, and the show taping will be Friday evening, February 11, Arizona time (rescheduled from Thursday).

Please post your questions here.

wow what a great guest, im always impressed with the guests you manage to engage.
having spoken to him myself, questions about the hive of scum and villany that is the OMF will be something i know he has strong feelings about.

specific questions ? gee thats so hard, id love to take james out to dinner and a few drinks and chat for hours
i know you guys will do the interview justice.

Here's a few questions for your consideration.

1. How many case files had been amassed when Mr. Bigelow acquired Mufon?

2. If he can, does Mr. Bigelow plan on copyrighting the data?

3. Has Mufon at anytime searched for patterns in the data, and if so what was revealed?

4. Will I notice a difference while searching Mufon's database?

5. What did Mr. Carrion discover about the "ranch" which was potentially damaging to Mr. Bigelow or NIDS ?

I would like to know what is next for MUFON, in his opinion?
<O:p</O:p
James having been the ID of MUFON and now being disenchanted with the organization where would he advise both current and former members of MUFON to go?

There are very few organizations like MUFON, and I would like to know what he thinks the members should do.

The formal reform of MUFON will more than likely not happen, so is it more of the same or move on to a new organization and what organization would that be?<O:p</O:p

Q: During your time at MUFON did you ever see anything that would support the notion that we are being visited by non-human intelligences?
Q: What do you believe the chances are that the various popular beliefs about UFOs are primarily the creations of the Intelligence agencies of various nations used to obfuscate and control information about classified terrestrial technology? And if so, how much of what constitutes popular UFO mythology should be rejected outright?

Q 1. It has been said that you departed MUFON because of a falling out with the board regarding the direction of MUFON. Specifically, what were the differences and what direction did the board want to move in.

Q 2. What was MUFONS mandate concerning the data it collected? How was that data supposed to be used and by whom was it accessible?

Q 3. When you were the director, did you ever entertain the idea of allowing researchers to have/purchase access to the MUFON database? Why or why not. What is your opinion of such an idea now?

Q 4. What is your opinions regarding the quality of the work performed by field investigators and of the STAR team?

Q 5. What were the circumstances behind Bigelows involvement with MUFON. Please walk us through the entire relationship as you know it.

Q 6. Will you participate in our forum. If no, why not?

Although as someone far, far on the outside I just want to say that I liked Carrion as director. I liked his skeptical (But he was never dogmatic or close-minded.) outlook even if I find it difficult to be swayed by the particulars of his latest theory about the government's role in the matter (Maury Island was a hoax perpetrated by civilians, not the government. Roswell wasn't discussed for 30 years until civilian researchers made a big deal out of it and although Arnold's sighting was the first to make big news his was not the first in the wave). I recall that he would engage in discussion on the MUFON forum (And that's a good thing in and of itself) and that there was one member in particular that would routinely accuse him of being a government stooge. James took it in stride and never flipped out or hit the ban button or anything like that. When I would hear him speak it just seemed to me that he sounded more sensible and quick on his feet than quite a few others officials in MUFON (Weigh any interview Carrion has done with the recent one Clift did and you tell me who's more knowledgeable) and I was surprised that his directorship turned out to be so short.
