This is a song about Covid, clearly by an antivaxxer, and therefore nonsense.
Yes there is no evidence that the vaccine done anything other than helped and protected people
People who are anti vaccines put not only themselves at risk but others around them.
I personally would lock anti vaccine people up for life in a very hard prison. Disgraceful that anyone would do this to all others around them.

Well I suppose you do have a point there Randall. In today's society you can no longer agree to disagree you must be part of a tribe.

You're right.
But personally — I don't subscribe to the "agree to disagree" mentality either. It's the same as sweeping it under the rug.
Instead — I think people should have the wherewithal to constructively hash-out and resolve their differences.
Those who simply walk away without trying, or authoritatively shut the other side down, are part of the problem ( IMO ).

Well I don't believe you are correct. I don't agree with everything you say but I will fight like hell for your right to say it. Sometimes I have even disagreed with you and gone away thought about it and ended up agreeing. However I think there are times when you have to let people digest walk away and hope they can see your point of view.

Good point, but I don't necessarily call that "agreeing to disagree".
I call your approach tabling or postponing the discussion on the understanding that due to other priorities, it cannot be resolved at the moment.
That's sometimes the wisest choice.

The "agreeing to disagree" situation is one where there are different, unchangeable perspectives that people have no choice but to accept.
That results in a breakdown in communication that fails to resolve the issue and contributes to further division.

In contrast, agreeing to do something else, like using the Socratic method, assumes that when there is conflict over an issue, then one side or the other — or both, are missing something, and that the constructive thing to do is work together to figure out what that is by asking relevant questions, weighing the answers using logic and evidence, and updating perspectives according to the outcomes without letting egos and personal bias get in the way.

Unfortunately — I have come to realize that a lot of people just don't operate that way, and that saddens and frustrates me. Even worse, there are people e.g. the Internet trolls, who intentionally use that as emotional triggers to manipulate people for their own entertainment, ratings, or political agenda.

Yes I agree. You see you can convince me.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I thought the whole lyrical sequence about how they invented the disease and the cure was open to interpretations. Anti-vaxers might see it as a nod to their camp, but it also could be read as a generic analysis of how basic consumerism works in terms of creating a need or a lac,k and then supplying a product for that perceived deficit. Because of the musical genre it's easy to see it leaning towards the Covid issue, but the rest of the song really is a fairly good take on where we are at right now.

Never more have we come closest to Orwell's fascist warnings in 1984, especially with regards to the paradoxes of language, conflicts with reality & facts, along with the blatant use of rhetoric, alternative facts and slogans as a means to communicate to the masses i.e. China, Israel,Trump Putin etc. North Korea has been using Orwell as their playbook for decades now, but we hear so little from them.i think it's actually pretty spooky when you consider the global nature of this problem and our dividing of ourselves up into EU, CUSMA, BRICS etc. and how we are always at War....

I'm sure the creation of The Ministry of Pornography is just around the corner given everyone's exhaustive pursuit of competing Ministries of Truth. Sometimes when I'm watching the news I have to remind myself that this is real and it's not Monty Python.

All I can say thank you planet earth for making Neil Young who can still rock out at his age and bring us the hardcore messages on national TV uncensored. He made Farm Aid more real and not silent! Unlike all those generals who had to sit there and be silent listening to unadulterated BS.

Neil Young used to be one of the greats — until . . .

Now I listen to this

And we can't discuss that here either — which is why I left.
So I'm trying to avoid it. I just wanted to know where some of our old shows ( missing from the list ) are archived.

He's still one of the greats as he rails against what the article defines Rogan as quite accurately - a contrarian providing baseless medical info. Sounds like Rogan is yet another promoter of false realities and alternative facts. I'll take Young over shock jock tactics to summon an audience any day. I don't understand why you give this trite conspiracy discussion any weight at all when historically we know vaccines are good for the human race (Young survived Polio so he has some real skin in this discussion) and where anti-vaxers go so does fascism. Look at the rise of mumps and measles in Italy, Florida and Alberta and what do you know there the fascists are too.

Like I said — we can't discuss it here unless we both want to be censored. All I'll say now is that I started off with the same assumption as you, but I have this annoying habit of trying really hard to look at the evidence and reasoning for the opposing perspective, and when I did that — I found over and over that the opposing perspective was well substantiated. Before long, I was forced by the weight of that evidence and reason to upgrade my thinking, while those who are still on the other side of those barricades often use denial and censorship.

More relevant commentary here . . .

It is projected that there will be 107,000 beds created in the US by January 2026 for ICE detainees provided by private contractors with more on the way. Once the detainees are deported (mostly without the constitutional right of habeas corpus), could American dissidents which are viewed by the current administration as anti-American be thrown into potential Gulags to manufacture various items for the “My Pillow” guy?

Even though an American citizen, at that point the best thing that Neil could possibly hope for is to be deported back to his native Canada.

That sucks — Can't they send him to Cuba. That should be far enough left for him :p

I can't decide what it is about Liz.
She's like some bizarre pseudo-comedian right-wing commentator.
But then she goes straight for the jugular.

In becoming the 51st state can you seriously consider handing over your country’s sovereignty to a batshit crazy authoritarian? I believe Dudley Do-Right would have you flogged…. and then flogged again.

Meet the new boss — same as the old boss. We're all just pawns for the globalist elites ( or so they think )
