Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!

Here's a bit of spooky stuff for y'all.

Here is some (unhelpful) elaboration on the Elisa Lam situation - very, very strange. Talk about odd.

P.S. Come to think of it, this is not in the least 'funny' as in ha-ha-funny. This is 'funny' as in seriously spooky, strange.

True Scary Story: Death of Elisa Lam

Study: Americans Safe from Gun Violence Except in Schools, Malls, Airports, Movie Theatres, Workplaces, Streets, Own Homes
LINK: Study: Americans Safe from Gun Violence Except in Schools, Malls, Airports, Movie Theatres, Workplaces, Streets, Own Homes - The New Yorker

TEXT: "WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—A new study released today indicates that Americans are safe from the threat of gun violence except in schools, malls, airports, movie theatres, workplaces, streets, and their own homes.

"Also: highways, turnpikes, libraries, places of worship, parks, universities, restaurants, post offices, and cars.

"Plus: driveways, garages, gyms, stores, military bases—and a host of other buildings, structures, and sites.

"National Rifle Association C.E.O. Wayne LaPierre applauded the study, saying that it reinforced his organization’s long-held position that the United States does not need additional gun laws. “This study makes it abundantly clear that Americans are in no danger of gun violence except in these isolated four hundred and thirteen places,” he said.

"He added that he hoped that the study would spark a conversation “about the root cause of mass shootings: people who recklessly show up at places where they could be shot at.” "

Fox: New Evidence Hillary Killed Lincoln
LINK: Fox: New Evidence Hillary Killed Lincoln - The New Yorker

TEXT: "WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In what may be the most serious allegation ever made against the former Secretary of State, Fox News Channel reported today that Hillary Clinton was involved in the conspiracy to murder President Abraham Lincoln.

"The latest charge against Mrs. Clinton was reported by Fox host Sean Hannity, who said that the evidence of her role in the Lincoln assassination came mainly in the form of e-mails.

"According to Mr. Hannity, “If it’s true that Hillary Clinton killed Lincoln, this could have a major impact on her chances in 2016.”

"The accusation against Mrs. Clinton drew a strong response from Sen. Lindsey Graham (R.—S. Carolina): “There’s been a concerted effort by Hillary Clinton to cover up her role in President Lincoln’s murder. She has said nothing about it. This is bigger than Watergate, the Cuban missile crisis, and the Second World War put together.”

"Responding to the allegation, Mrs. Clinton issued a terse statement indicating that she could not have participated in Lincoln’s assassination because she was born in 1947.

" “That’s what she wants us to believe,” Sen. Graham said."

Variations of the above conversation have been around for a long while. ;) 1995 - but there is a lot bogus about it from the get-go.

Not to mention which, any on-duty navigation crew dumb enough to actually let that happen to several dozen billion dollars' worth of ships and aircraft - well, let's just say it's not much fun for the piccolo players.

Why yes, I AM a Navy veteran. bigjohn.jpg ;)

It's why I said it's probably a joke -- but still an excellent and funny example showing us the flaws in our assumptions. That's why I thought it should be shared.

Also, IE really isn't that bad, either. Still...
