Hey, I saw 2 movies when I was young and I remember some scenes from them and would love to watch them again but I don't know the names. I was hoping some of you might have seen them, too.

Movie #1 was about these bugs of some sort that come from a large crack in the earth. I remember the scene when they all fly back into it, it looks like Hell cracked open or something. The one scene I remember vividly is this bug lands in this woman's big hair-do. It is like a large lightning bug and its tail/abdomen part sort of sparks and her hair burst into flames. I think that was the premise..that these bug's butts popped and flamed up causing fires and such. This was probably an early 70s movie.

Movie #2- I came in from playing baseball and turned on the TV. I saw the tail end of a movie that seemed it was about twin women, one good and one bad/evil. The part I remember the best is the good one and her boyfriend or a man going down tunnels of sorts under a house or in catacombs or somewhere with tunnels. She sees a big circle of white candles each with a flame but as she gets closer and closer, she notices they aren't flames but eyes! It was like her evil sister turned into a giant spider and it's eyes were on top of each candle making it seem like they were flames. That is all I remember but that image stuck with me my whole life. The idea of "black widow" comes to mind but I never found reference to that scene.

Hope someone can offer opinions based on that limited information.

I saw a more recent movie called Bug with Ashley Judd I liked. Don't think there's a relation between the one Skunk posted. Deals with conspiracies kinda.

Anyway, neither movie mentioned rings a bell with me. Might have been a little before my time. I was born in 75. Then again, I know Wizard of Oz due to reruns:)

Curse of the Black Widow (1977) (TV)

I think this is the one you're looking for.

All I can say, is you guys RULE! WOW! I guess my search fu thing isn't up to par. I also see I was correct in remembering these movies and that I didn't dream it all up. Thanks sooo much, I have wondered if I dreamed all that up and remembered it as fact. I was age 5 for bug and 7 for the Widow movie but I am afraid I can't remember much from last week. *Sigh*

I did watch part of that episode of the locust things haha. I think I'll watch it all when I get the time.
