Paranormal Novice
Hello all.
I've been reading here for a while before finally registering. I came to the paranormal side of things sideways — I got interested in the reporting first, the way accounts get told, retold, and slowly reshaped, and only later in whether any of it holds up.
What keeps me here rather than in the louder corners of the internet is that people on this forum actually argue about the details. I've watched threads where someone brings a case in and it gets picked apart properly — timeline, witnesses, what the original source actually said versus what got repeated for thirty years. That's rare.
Where I sit, if it's useful to know: I'm not a believer or a debunker. I find the pattern of how a story changes between the first telling and the fifth more interesting than the question of what "really" happened. Some of the accounts that fall apart under scrutiny are more fascinating than the ones that don't.
Areas I follow most closely: sleep paralysis reports and the shadow figure / Hat Man cluster, mass sightings where the social aftermath is stranger than the event itself, and the general problem of witness memory drift over time.
I'm coming in with more questions than answers, so I'll mostly be reading and asking. Looking forward to it.
