Thank you. You’ve proven my point exquisitely.

“ Canada is not run by socialists; it is a parliamentary democracy with a mixed economy and a
constitutional monarchy. While Canada has a prominent New Democratic Party (NDP) with socialist roots, the current government is led by the center-left Liberal Party, which governs in the tradition of providing a strong social safety net but operates within a capitalist framework”

Next ….

" Canada is not devoid of civil rights. Canada is a country with strong protections for civil liberties and human rights, which are primarily guaranteed by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, an entrenched part of the Constitution.”

I've seen how much your government respects its people and their civil rights. Have you forgotten the treatment of your heroic truckers, etc.? How your "non-socialists" fight to keep fentanyl flowing?

Lol … whomever you are, you’re starting to confuse even me, as I’ve been leaving breadcrumbs for you to realize that I reside in the US and have been for my entire life.

Now, if you don’t mind I’m going to climb into a canoe and paddle NORTH up the Columbia into CANADA

I strongly suggest you get you hands on a compass and map.

"As a dual US/Canadian citizen" you clearly prefer Canada and wish you were there. Go, live under *real* fascism, and be happy.

Fascism? A brand of Socialism? Are you using it as a synonym for law and order?

And who lives north of Canada, a nation ruled by Socialists, devoid of civil rights?
The last time I checked it was America that was losing its civil rights. Never would someone in Canada be grabbed in the middle of the night, shuttled off to unknown locations to be incarcerated and then subjected to a pseudo legal system where court proceedings are not available to the public. Sounds like Russia to me, or more like Latin America during the days of government sponsored disappearances.

Wrongful deportations in 2025
Recent reports from 2025 highlight ongoing instances of U.S. citizens being wrongfully detained or deported by immigration officials, particularly in border regions. Notable cases reported in April 2025 include:

  • A U.S. citizen child, just two years old, was deported to Honduras along with her mother by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
  • A 10-year-old girl with brain cancer, an American citizen, was deported with her family to Mexico while on the way to a medical appointment.
  • A 7-year-old girl and her 4-year-old brother with stage 4 cancer, both citizens, were deported to Honduras without access to the boy's medication

Your examples are all children- were they supposed to leave them on the street? How long do you expect a feral 2 year old to live?! It's the parents that caused the problem. And drugs are probably cheaper in their real home anyway.

It's so cute when people throw "socialist" and "communist" around like a swear word. Tells me everything I need to know about somebody.

"Cute" is an odd descriptor for bluntly correct people, who have counted the number of successful Marxist countries- zero- but whatever amuses you. Simple pleasures, etc.

As the vast majority of Americans' material reality continues to erode and the world grows every wearier about the power and influence it is attempting to force on it, I'm sure you'll find all kinds of ways to rationalize it outside of looking at systemic issues. Counting America as a successful Capitalist state at this point in history is hyperbolic at best, which is what I assume your point is by pointing to historic examples as the best counter to why socialism is inherently bad.
