One book I read back in 1991 stands out as something special. A book by Payne Harrison called Thunder of Erebus. If anybody likes Tom Clancy type novels - I highly recommend checking this one out, it's worth it IMO 
EDIT: Unbeknownst to me, I just found out he wrote a novel involving UFO's and a coverup. I had never heard of it until just now, but it is called Forbidden Summit. Anybody read that one?
