Years ago I was duped into going to one of her shows, as a friend of mine was managing one of those Learning Centers in NYC and I thought I'd take my wife down to The Source Of Life building downtown and see what people were willing to shell $50.00 or so greenbacks to see.

She puts herself in a self induced hypnotic trance and supposedly allows these advanced Aliens from the Pleiades to come through and use her voice, telling us stupid humans all sorts of things we didn't know, for instance:

"Gerald Ford and Bob Hope were child molesters"
"Himmler actually went to Egypt in 1942 to study ancient Egyptian majik rituals in which he used to create the SS with (I guess not considering the fact that Egypt was a British protectorate at the time and at war with Germany....hmmm)."

And I could go on.

The stickler for me was when after an hour and a half or so my friend had to yell out the following:

"Pleadians......5 minutes!"

LOL! Yep, the intelligent extra terrestrial Pleadians couldn't seem to tell the time.

I guess it is that whole “I want to believe” mind set. I also think a lot of people really do not want the truth told to them if they have a story they really want to believe in and I am sure there are any number of cases in Ufology we could think of. I for one don’t “want to believe” I want to know and that has a whole different mindset attached to it. But yeah it just goes to show how much critical thinking people are willing to suspend to believe in any thing.

Exactly my point. The mere fact that any entity of an advanced intelligence would be interested in a micro marble compared to the sheer vastness of this and many other universes, is ludicrous to say the least. I do agree with Hawking though...If they did know we existed, they would probably look at us as something similar to either ants to be squashed when we get in the way, or cows to be herded for some type of nourishment. Perhaps if the latter is the case, this explains the anal probes....hmmmm?:shy:

I think this sort of thing is just another expression of whatever human quality or characteristic that causes us as a species to construct religions. Channelers are nothing if not "prophets" and the aliens and spirit beings they allegedly speak for are stand-ins for the gods. It is a "cottage industry" to say the least. The "rubes" or true-believers are largely at the mercy of "unbelieving" opportunistic con-artists or equally as dangerous, but fewer in actual number, the deluded and psychotic.

Prophetic intuition notwithstanding, it is indeed sad to see genuine religious belief assimilated in any comparative analysis to this woman’s banter. As I do understand your point, I would much rather compare what she promotes to delusional paranoia unconfined within some form of repressed fear based anxiety.

I am a Christian and believe that Jesus Christ actually walked this earth. I have much of my belief system written in pages over two thousand years old. I understand that “faith” can be a large step in her “religious” mainstay, but Mrs. Marciniak has no basis whatsoever to provide “proof” or the next best thing, such as a biblical reference or even perhaps a live visit from one of her Pleadian friends.

I would conclude that many critics of my opinion might state that “The Bible” in and of itself doesn’t prove anything, or isn’t proof in and of itself, but I will tell you this….

I am also a Demonologist who has evoked the Lord’s name to help many people to find solace and relief from many diabolical influences, yet I wonder how many Pleadians have provided the same benefit. Again, it is faith, but faith based on actual workings and a foundation of evidence….she has neither.

As the subject of one's personal "religious" beliefs are really not the context of this thread, I will cease from entering into an argument pertaining to why I believe there is a vast difference between the Christian faith as a faith based religion versus what Barbara Marciniak spews forth as nothing less than down and out fabrication to make money.

Leave it to say that my original point on comparing the Pleadian insanity to that of "Humans have been on Mars" still stands.
