And then there's this gem...

Another truly great movie, and the director's edition DVD has some key restored scenes not in the original releases, including one directly following this scene.

Here's some Bernard Hermann for you Dave, in concert with Ray Harryhausen. God, I dug this stuff as a kid...still do.

No Hermann here, Lawrence Rosenthal did the soundtrack, but it is one of Harryhausen's finest moments.

Skunkape,

I adore Jason & The Argonauts, the whole Talos scene profoundly freaked me out as a kid. Good call!
I've still got a copy of Harryhausen's 'Film Fantasy Scrapbook' that I bought in 1981 with money I earned mowing yards. I used to ride my bike to the drive-in and sneak through a hole in the fence to watch those flicks. Here's another great scene I saw there...the transformation scene from 'The Howling.' It's a close contest between this and 'An American Werewolf In London,' but I think I prefer Rob Bottin's work over Rick Baker's. I think this was the last film I saw at the drive-in. It's a scrap-yard now.

Just watched this again recently. Possibly one of the best montage sequences ever filmed (with one of the quirkiest, non-sequitur-yet-iconic taglines ever).
