Note that even self-contained bands, such as the Beach Boys, would rely on the Wrecking Crew to do their studio backup tracks because they were fast, creative, and thus kept the studio bills low.

The other master Wrecking Crew drummer, Jim Keltner, played with such acts as: Traveling Wilburys, Little Village, J.J. Cale, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Ry Cooder, Delaney & Bonnie, Bob Dylan, Carly Simon, Ringo Starr, Gabor Szabo, George Harrison, John Lennon, Steve Miller Band, Harry Nilsson, Neil Diamond and Randy Newman.
