Bruce Maccabee and the CIA

UFOs do not represent a threat to national security, UFOs do represent a threat to national security. Here it is in a nutshell...the central question to one of human-kinds greatest (IMHO) questions ... not to mention ... does anybody in government "Care about UFOs?"

The third week of July, 1993, we at UFO Magazine received (with no return address - nor was it signed) a "report" from the "Associated Investigators-#1" that the research field of UFOs (and UFO researchers) was covered top to bottom by CIA. One very prominent name that was named, Dr. Bruce Maccabee, who was also Chairman for the Fund for UFO Research. Vicki and I called Richard Hall at the Fund for UFO Research or FUFOR. (BTW, Maccabee was removed as Chairman) It turned out, according to Hall, that most of them were not aware of Maccabee's association with CIA and this, at the time, was a huge black eye for FUFOR. I called Maccabee and interviewed him for UFO Magazine and then invited him to appear on UFOs Tonite!. (Here is my original article from UFO Magazine)

Bruce Maccabee

Maccabee appeared on my show on August 8, 1993 for two hours. Honestly I had forgotten everything we covered (until I listened to this show again) and had forgotten how much Maccabee seemed to dance around certain questions ... such as ... was he really one of Bill Moore's Aviary contacts. (Never did get a straight answer to that one.) Also, how he managed to side-step questions about the case I busted open ... STS-48, and how "excited" he was about it according to Vince Dipietro. Also, lest I forget, how he seemed unaware of how all this would look to the public that was interested in the subject of UFOs.

Questions of intelligence interest in UFOs go back to when UFOs first appeared on the "public radar" and this show points that out in very clear detail. Below you will find the "AIR-Report" written by W. Todd Zechel and also you will find Maccabee's rebuttle. Also, make sure you listen to the show opening monologue, there are some very important sound clips I included about FUFOR, Dipietro and STS-48, then listen to how Maccabee deals with that during the show. Now, on to it ....

Don something I have been curious about as I listen to these shows ... Did you have a requirement to take a certain number of calls per show? I notice you often go straight to the phones even before getting into the interview with the guest.

Something else I've noticed is that you seemed to have a pretty bright audience. Most callers are smart and appear to have a good grasp on the nuances of the various subjects you discuss. That's definitely not the case with every call in show out there.

Nope, I took calls as the mood struck me.

My audience was informed ... and rabid. They followed me from almost the time I began broadcasting and for years after that show went off the air. Some of them wanted to go down and "discuss" the issues with station management after I quit. Like I said ... many were rabid to get their "UFO fix."
