seems like everytime i search for paranormal podcasts, all i find are dead shows or ridiculously bad shows.

has anyone listened to paranormal cafe? It reminds me of the old saturday night live sketches where chris farley stumbles through interviews with various celebrities

i guess this is kinda half question, half compliment towards david and gene......i mean, honestly..the quality of this show is unsurpassed.....i cant find anything worthwhile to fill the gap between sundays.
 
I recently started listening to Darkness on the Edge of Town, and Valien's/Jeremy's show Culture of Contact.

The guys at Darkness try too hard to be funny, and never are, but other than that it's a decent show so far from what I've heard.

Talk Shoe's Let's Talk Bigfoot I also listen to.

Disagree about Paranormal Cafe though, while it doesn't have the edge of the Paracast there are far, far worse podcasts out there ;-)

What else do I listen to? In no particular order, Audiomartini, Tim Binnall, Culture of Contact/Book of Thoth, Point of Inquiry, Skeptiko, Skeptoid and various Bigfoot ones but I haven't sorted the wheat from the chaff there yet.

I'd certainly also welcome other recommendations - or perhaps Gene and Dave could start doing a midweek show (just kidding!)

Greg Bishop's Radio Misterioso is another good one, even if episodes are few and far between. PreCognitive Dissonance just had Paul Kimball on and it was a great show. I'll be checking them out more.

I _want_ to like Audiomartini, I really do, but I find the audio levels way too inconsistent and sometimes I think Rick is a little too patronizing (make that way too patronizing) in a "good ol' boy" "public school education" (to use one of his favorite phrases) type of way.

Karyn Dolan was doing a few podcasts, some of which featured Rich either as guest or guest host, and they were pretty good. Rich Dolan is a big fan of Dr. Richard Sauder of underground bases fame, and I remember one with him in particular. I think they were on the "UFO Paranormal Radio Network."

And there's a Swedish one called Red Ice Creations that sometimes has interesting guests.
 
I listen to Dreamland and Paracast. That's it. I'll be giving Karyn Dolan's podcast a listen at some point. Anyone heard it? Good stuff?

Agreed, it's very off-putting. Listen to the show where he's at the skeptics' convention for his real feelings.

I often listen to Mysterious Universe. It is more of a news round up and the host (Benjamin Grundy) will report on many things that even he seems not to give much credence to all of them. Ben is Australian and seems to have radio experience, so no matter he is reading, it sounds very pleasant!
 
I hate to admit it but I do like the Ghost Hunters Podcast-I know I will get grief for it but Jason has a great radio voice. I also really enjoy the podcast Out There, though they only did 50 pods, they were a great listen.

I have been listening to all the back episodes of the Paracast and have enjoyed them tremendously! Thank you Gene and David for getting me through my work day-it goes by so much quicker with you two in my ears!
 
Paranormal Cafe is great compared to 90% of podcasts so I guess you shouldn't be expecting much, if you want good paranormal shows.

Lets see..

Mysterious Universe is good but I never seem to listen to it anymore and I fall asleep..
It's good for listening to if you have a long drive though definitely.
The Black Vault is good but their podcasts are very sporadic.
Coast to Coast I will listen to if there is a good guest.
For non paranormal..
I bare through about an hour or two of Alex Jones million hours a week podcasts on the small chance he will have something new/big (I must be crazy), usually it's just the same old rants..
NORML is interesting, but HOW much can you really talk 100% about marijuana (Apparently a hell of a lot!).
The host of Freedomain Radio could talk for a two hundred hours straight (f'n serious) by himself about Anarchy and Libertarianism derivatives.
I kinda like Screw Attack just because Studdering Craig has the same video game tastes as me.

Yep. I enjoy the mix of topics they cover, sound quality is good, and the hosts put a lot into it. David Biedny was a guest on an early episode which was pretty interesting (of course covered some ground familiar to Paracast listeners, but a few things were said I'm not sure I'd heard before).
 
They do a pretty good job... I hate podcasts (or anything) with bad sound or inconsistent levels. Dreamland really never listen to anymore unless someone I want to hear very badly is on. Although I just disagree with a great deal of the hosts' opinions, it was the audio quality spiraling out of control that soured me on the show. After years of working with audio equipment, I got into the podcast/talk radio habit because it was nice and quiet. When someone jars me with a poorly matched bump or bad phone lines it is like stabbing me in the ear!

I won't go into all my non-weirdness podcasts, but one that many people may enjoy is the Archeology Channel's weekly news podcast. A nice digest of new discoveries, well made and not at only full of jargon or even politics. I should have mentioned Black Vault, but it is so inconsistent I forget about it being there. Each episode is like an unexpected gift!
 
i can never get black vault radio to work on my PSP.....it keeps saying "server does not support this feature" .....might just be an old/bad link.
 
Let's not forget Brian Vike. Seems like a very nice guy (maybe too nice), but could certainly vet his guests a bit more. Theme music is unusual, but grows on you.

I just mentioned this one to Jeff Ritzmann on the phone earlier today: Astronomy Cast - http://www.astronomycast.com/

This is not a paranormal podcast, but a straight forward scientific podcast about astronomy, which may be of interest to some of you here. It runs 20-30 minutes and usually focuses on just one topic. To paraphrase them, they try to explain "what they know, and why they know what they know" about the universe. They recently did a three part episode about the shape, size, and center of the universe which was really mind-bending. Last year they did a tour of the solar system which spent one episode on each important object in the solar system. They also do a couple of "listener's questions" episodes per year.

Sometimes the science is so much more amazing than the speculative.

Old Vyz (who has actually asked me to be on his programme a few times :D) ... is one of a kind. I guess you just have to listen to his shows to understand this statement. He takes in all sorts of topics, some paranormal, some religious, some conspiratorial, and he's one of the few people out there to tries to stick it to the idiots like Alex Jones (prove to me he isn't and win a Mini Metro!!!), and those supposed 9/11 truthers like Jim Fetzer, Judy Wood et al.

And my god he's passionate, well read, and has some sort of strange notion that the Vatican is behind everything (and believe you me, I've tried to persuade him otherwise :D) ... but anyone who can have a parakeet as a pet, and call it "Vyzykeet" is fine by me :D.

He's just done a set of shows about UFOs, and I recently pointed him in the direction of Mac Tonnies, so hopefully, he'll have him on his programme soon, and I'll be happy as a bunny in a bunny factory (whatever that means :eek::D).

Oh ... and other podcasts ... PsiOP Radio, The Piper Report (political but Michael Collins Piper is a god :D), The Edge (now and again since it usually does the whole religion/prophesy thing too much), Untamed Dimensions (with Adam Gorightly), and most of the others mentioned above (apart from old Alex Jones ... who is the lord our beelzebub ... or something :D)
