A case of TMI?

He makes an important point in the article. It makes me think of the old qabalistic adage that knowledge is not the same as wisdom, which is how many centuries old? So we're learning . . . not very fast. Although I can see several reasons why just collecting massive amounts of data is preferable and more profitable than actually taking the time to think about what needs to be done in a complex world, especially one marked by a lack of civic consensus. Or maybe Hoagland is right, and it's all in the data.
