As a regular downloader of The Paracast on itunes I have a little suggestion which I think would benefit other listeners. I was wondering how difficult it would be to get some brief info about each show added into the description field - at least on future shows. The reason being that when I add a selection of shows to my ipod the info displayed only tells me the date of the show. It would be so helpful to know either the guests or the topics discussed.

I realise this may be difficult to implement but I would find it so helpful. I know some other podcasts include a very short description. It's probably the fact that I'm trawling through all the old shows that it gets confusing as to what the content includes on each one.

Anyone else think this would help?

Our iTunes feed contains 3 sets of show descriptions. That's part of the format for those feeds. In addition, we have begun to tag the MP3 files themselves with a description of the episode. No, we can't actually do it in the title -- it makes it too long, but it is going where it's supposed to go.

But anyone who is experienced with XML, RSS and such things is welcome to let us know what else we can do.

Ok Gene thanks for replying. I understand there is a description of each show you can read on itunes itself but once you transfer to an ipod there is now way of knowing apart from a date. I tend to keep twenty or so episodes on my ipod and it really is difficult knowing what you are listening to without skimming through each one. As I say other podcasts like those from BBC get a very small description as well as the date in the actual title. Sorry if it sounds like a moan as I really appreciate the podcasts.

Maybe I should just embrace the element of surprise :)
