And so does Chantrix. It helped me quit smoking but had me wanting to slit my wrist for a while there. But I'm still off of cigarettes.:) But I gained a lot of weight.:mad: But now I'm losing the weight.:) But I kinda still miss smoking.:mad:
I will not touch tobacco again.

Ok... enough of my whining! So how the hell is everybody? It's been a while.

Congratulations on quitting smoking! People who've never experienced addiction can't really understand why it's so hard to quit smoking (or drinking/drugs for that matter). When I finally quit I still craved cigarettes for years and it made life miserable. It's better now, maybe if I had used a good drug while quitting it would've been better (I hear Welbutrin is good for that), but I was unemployed so that kind of help was not an option. Patches are good for a while, but it's the psychological addiction that is hell.

Thanks! Like I said, I used Chantrix. And what they say about it is true. It plays nasty games with your brain that last for a long time after you quit taking it.
 
I recommend cooking. Recently I have mastered the art of making pizza. Not crappy tombstone pizza from the frozen food isle. I'm talking about making your own dough and sauce from scratch. It's a rewarding process to taste your work getting better and better. I've made five different batches of sauce and dough over the last month or so and am now able to make, in my view and in the views of others, excellent pizza that enables me never to have to order another pizza from any delivery restaurant.

You may have to spend about 150 bucks on good pizza making supplies. You will need a stove brick. You can pick these up at kitchen restaurants or on the internet. These help make crispy crusts. You will need a great variety of spices and things, too. And a pizza cutter or sharp knife.

I find that taking up hobbies like this that are rewarding for personal reasons is great medicine against depression. Good luck.
 
I was able to quit for a month on the patch and taking up cigars. However I still craved cigs even after a month and was like, screw this, I'll risk dying sooner. No point having a long miserable life.

Weren't you a moderator, or admin Onda?
 
I finally quit in march after smoking for 25 years.

I've never in my life had the flu. So I guess that I was due. It took me down for almost a month. After the first week I couldn't smoke so I just told myself here's your chance.. Because of the Flu I missed out on the hell when you first try and quit.

Now I still have urges and I've gained like 17 pounds, but now I will be able to get back in shape.

I miss them though while playing Online fragfests for hours. I still reach out and try to grab a smoke out of an imaginary ashtry while I'm playing.
 
I've had cigarettes before. And sometimes, every once in a while I try one again. And I can't imagine what it is that people like about it. It makes me nauseous. Now, on the other hand, my wife smokes. She quit for awhile(several years) while we were in the process of having kids.

Then one night having drinks at a party, she had one. I knew it was all over. And while she tried to stop again, it hasn't worked. I really wish she could stop, but for now she just can't. There must be some terrible genetic marker that predisposes her to addiction, at least this addiction.

Good luck. And although I know I wouldn't become addicted to them, I know how it enslaves a person. Wasn't there a Twilight Zone episode about quitting smoking?? Something like if the person didn't quit they would get their hand chopped off or something. Can't quite remember.
 
Remember the end of the series the X files where the smoking man was still smoking using his trachea? I am so glad I never started that habit.

Well, I am coming back now. Alot had happened since October that I won't go into due to the fact that I really don't want to rehash it.

To you I say that if you enjoy smoking then keep it up! I believe in freedom.

And Yes. I was a mod but fell off of the face of the earth without explanation and for that I apologize to Gene and David. I just got to a point where I could barely function for a while.

But I still believe in the show and have been listening. I was embarrassed to even show my face around here for a while. But I have started working on things again like bumper music and re-recording the theme song giving it a new spin.

I'm not saying Gene and David have asked for the music but I want to present it to them and see if they like it for use on the show. Plus I have a few other things I owe them.
 
I hope things are going better for you, my friend. If you wish to become a moderator again, just ask, so long as you have a little time to do a little work here. :)
 
Sorry if my earlier post was in bad taste considering you just are getting over or are still dealing with depression.
