The Contradictions of the Benevolent Space People
By Gene Steinberg

Most people who claim contact with alleged “higher beings” or ETs assert that they are here to help us rather than to harm us. Our visitors want humans to give up wars, protect the environment, adopt peace and love. All that good stuff.

Alas, the world isn’t that way. In every generation, there are major conflicts around the planet that result in hundreds of thousands or millions of deaths of innocent people.

So if we are to believe our visitors, they should, right now, be using their advanced technology to bring these tragedies to a halt and cure the sick. It hardly makes sense to contact a bunch of mostly unknown people to just spread the word without any positive action to follow it up and demonstrate ET’s power.

The impression I get from interviewing experiencers and their advocates on The Paracast is that most seem sincere, the entities or beings they contact differ sometimes, but the messages are the same. Almost every time.

Not to mention the possible gullibility of the experiencers. In virtually all cases, the contacts are accepted at face value. The visitors are what they claim to be, moral beings who are only concerned with having us join their “Galactic Brotherhood.”

This message is, in part, similar to the one depicted in the classic sci-fi film from 1951, “The Day the Earth Stood Still.” There ET arrived in the form of Klaatu, who wore a helmet on his arrival (for no discernible reason) but was otherwise human. At at least that’s what he appeared to be. Nothing is said about the possibility that he might have been genetically manipulated to take on an acceptable appearance.

Regardless, physically Klaatu had a body as fragile as any human. He was shot twice during the film, the latter causing his death. Using the advanced technology in his spaceship, his life was restored, at least for a while.

His message presaged the one contactees would present. Earth is too warlike. Coming during the early days of the Cold War, the implication was that we should abandon the tools of devastation, particularly nuclear weapons, and make peace.

Indeed, he cannot seem to get government representatives to meet together to listen to his message. In the end, it’s a group of scientists, who appear to be willing to work together regardless of the political byplay and conflicts of their governments.

But ET took a carrot and stick approach. Adopt peace worldwide and join their galactic brotherhood or federation, or whatever you wish to call it. Or accept the consequences, which appear to include the destruction of Earth.

Such warnings were conveniently ignored by the contactees who otherwise adapted the film’s approach to their alleged ET encounters.

I’m not necessarily claiming that contactees — or abductees specifically — are lying about their encounters. It may just be that they did have extraordinary experiences of one sort or another, and employed pop culture references to make their descriptions more acceptable. Or observed them that way.

Or maybe that’s how it’s being presented to them. Perhaps they are not able to understand the real experience, whatever it might be.

So while it’s quite obvious that the claims of the “granddaddy” of all contactees, George Adamski, were on the surface false, and his photos were fakes that were easily duplicated, that doesn’t mean nothing happened to him.

Based on his early history, it’s possible he did have some sort of paranormal experience, but couched it in sci-fi terms to make it more acceptable. This was in keeping with his quoted remarks that one sometimes had to go through the back door to spread the truth.

But what about that truth?

Again, experiencers believe in their contacts. The rarely seek to question whether the force behind the experiences is fooling them for one reason or another. When they see a specific type of creature — grays, Nordics, reptilians, etc. — it’s real. No question about it.

The message seems extremely logical. As with what our religions teach us, we must adopt a posture of peace. All well and good. “Peace and love” as former Beatle Ringo Starr always says.

But when you consider a race of beings that are advanced enough to employ interstellar travel, or are capable of jumping through dimensional portals, they seem unwilling or unable to actually follow through on their edicts.

I call them feckless.

Claimants will often respond that ET doesn’t wish to interfere with Earthly affairs, at least beyond making their presence and goals available to a small number of mostly unknown people.

But the mere act of appearing in the skies and contacting people is interference of the first order. Even witnesses to a UFO sighting, sans the ET contacts, may accept it as a life-altering experience. Their goals may change, they might become more respectful of the environment, presumably behave nicely towards all people.

The suggestion is that these conversions may some day involve so many people that Earthlings will, by and large, behave themselves.

Again, ET is feckless. And I’d say the same even if I were contacted, for the very same reasons.

While I wouldn’t pretend to understand alien logic — or whatever it is — or their possible motives towards the inhabits of Earth, whatever they hope to accomplish has been a total failure. Why can’t they just make a massed landing and spread their messages in one fell swoop?

So consider the situation: The fabled “Doomsday Clock” continues to advance towards midnight, when global annihilation might occur.

According to the scientific team that manages the clock (see Doomsday Clock - Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists):

“This year [2023], the Science and Security Board of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists moves the hands of the Doomsday Clock forward, largely (though not exclusively) because of the mounting dangers of the war in Ukraine. The Clock now stands at 90 seconds to midnight — the closest to global catastrophe it has ever been.”

The latest war in Israel will, I fear, move those hands even closer. Since it’s clear Earth people aren’t able to turn back from the road to armageddon, the ball is clearly in ET’s court.

And I doubt we’ll see see them catch it any time soon, or ever. But that assumes that ETs are involved, and that is by no means certain.
