Dr. Roger Leir Discusses Alien Implants on The Paracast

Special Announcement: The Paracast is heard Sundays from 2:00 AM until 5:00 AM Central Time on the GCN Radio Network and affiliates around the USA, and online across the globe via download and on-demand streaming.

Why It's Important for You to Donate to The Paracast: Although ads help cover a small part of our expenses, the income they produce is never enough to pay your humble hosts decent wages. Also, we do not receive any revenue from the ads placed on the show by our network or local stations. So we hope you're able to help fill the gap, if you can, to help us cover increasing server costs and other expenses -- or perhaps provide a little extra cash for lunch and utility bills. No contribution is too small (or too large :). It’s easy to send a donation. We have a Donate link on our home page, below the logo and audio player. There's also a Donate link on our forums, at the bottom of the sidebar on the right. Or just send your PayPal donation direct to sales (at) theparacast (dot) com. And if you’ve had a problem getting to our Donate screen, please try again. We just fixed a serious PayPal access problem, and it should work properly now.

Attention U.S. Listeners: Help Us Bring The Paracast to Your City! In the summer of 2010, The Paracast joined the GCN radio network. This represented a huge step in bringing our show to a larger, mainstream audience. But we need your help to add additional affiliates to our growing network. Please ask one of your local talk stations if they are interested in carrying The Paracast. Feel free to contact us directly with the names of programming people we might be able to contact on your behalf. We can't do this alone, and if you succeed in convincing your local station to carry the show, we'll reward you with one of our special T-shirts, and other goodies. With your help, The Paracast can grow into one of the most popular paranormal shows on the planet!

Please Visit Our Online Store: You asked, and we answered. We are now taking orders for The Official Paracast T-Shirt and an expanded collection of other specially customized merchandise. Another Brief Look at UFO Abductions
By Gene Steinberg

I suppose the progenitor was the Barney and Betty Hill case, involving a couple taking a long drive and encountering something so frightening it impacted the remainder of their lives. Most of you have heard about it. The Hills see a UFO, and recall, under hypnosis, about being taken aboard a spaceship and encountering the alien crew.

You’ve heard about the star map seen on the ship, and about the possibility that, based on the map, the aliens come from Zeta Reticuli, a binary star system (in other words, two stars) that’s located some 39 light years from Earth. At least that’s an interpretation of the meaning of that map, although you’d think ET would be using a far more sophisticated means of navigation. If you consider the meaning in terms Earth technology in the 1960s, it did seem highly advanced I suppose. But not today, unless it was all just an act to impress the Hills.

Indeed, I sometimes wonder just how advanced our visitors are, in light of the primitive fashion in which they allegedly extract sperm samples or do other sorts of physical examinations when kidnapping humans for testing. Or at least that’s what the memories of the abductees appear to indicate. It may well be that the real details of the encounter are buried, and what they appear to recall is itself the actual screen memory.

Indeed, you have reason to be skeptical that what are perceived as screen memories don’t seem to hold. Surely ET can do better than that in dealing with Earth-based primitives. But if the revelations sometimes retrieved via hypnotic regression are themselves false, it all starts to make a little more sense.

Some suggest that the phenomenon, whatever it is, intrudes itself directly into our subconscious, and even those UFOs aren’t exactly the solid aircraft they appear to be. Maybe something else is going on behind the scenes.

It may also be that we interpret such events in terms of our culture and experience. Movies about extraterrestrials have taken hold. Not the buggy-eyed monsters, but something that is, to most witnesses, essentially human with some variations. So maybe they are smaller, thinner, with large heads of big eyes. But they are not so strange when you consider that this is a sci-fi concept of how humans might evolve over the centuries. Our abilities migrate from muscles to our brains. They grow, but our physical capabilities are lessened. If ET can do most everything by harnessing the power of their minds, they don’t have to worry about wrestling, boxing, martial arts, or even football. Their limbs wither. Besides, isn’t football a dangerous sport, with the potential of causing brain damage?

However, many of the people who follow the abduction reports, and particularly those who have devoted years to research such events, continue to claim these are physical experiences, with physical beings, and that the details are, by and large, precisely what really happened. It’s also believed that hundreds of thousands or millions of people have been abducted, and that the experiences are often repeated throughout one’s lifetime.

The most horrifying interpretation of the motives behind these abductions is that the aliens are trying to engage in a sort of genetic manipulation, or creating a hybrid race.

It’s not that we don’t have similar situations in our folklore, which speaks of the daughters of men mating with the gods to create a new race of super beings. Wasn’t Hercules supposed to be the spawn of such a relationship? He was was, according to legend, the son of Zeus, a god, and Alcmene, a mortal. Sure, it’s the stuff of fiction, but it’s not as if some sort of genetic intervention hasn’t been part of our culture.

While I’m not going to dispute the reality of abductions -- they are frightening experiences to be sure -- I would wonder about the purpose of developing a hybrid race or making rapid genetic changes to humans. Clearly the impact is troubling. Why should we allow others to redesign the human race to meet their needs? But if we are already the result of some sort of generic experiment, I suppose it makes sense that the ones responsible might find it useful to make adjustments from time to time, although I can see why people might object to any attempt at fine tuning.

But what if those changes resulted in progeny that was smarter, healthier, longer-living? What if it wasn’t an attempt at some sort of insidious alien takeover, but all done to positive effect? Well, I suppose doing something to get rid of the common cold, not to mention preventing cancer and heart disease, might be a good thing. What about the tendencies to commit crimes, to kill others? Can those traits be removed by manipulating our genes in some fashion, or crossbreeding with advanced beings?

But what about free will? Would we somehow become subservient to those “higher” beings? Or maybe we are already, and just won’t admit the truth. What about organized religion?

Just saying.

Now when it comes to UFO abductions, I am not necessarily saying that ET isn’t responsible. But it’s fair to look at other possibilities, including some sort of questionable psychological testing by our governments, or an interaction with the divine, a computerized intelligence or a superconsciousness that we do not fully understand. Yes, we have eyewitness testimony that appears fairly consistent from experience to experience. We have reports of alien implants that, when extracted, may reveal potential advanced technologies.

In the end, however, we are mostly left to speculate. My guess is as good as yours, and if it all involves forces that are other than extraterrestrial, the chance that the real answer might be found may be little to none.

I tend to agree that there are some incongruities in the technology, but there's a possibility that tends to get overlooked which may explain it. It could be the case that the aliens simply stumbled upon some kind of ultra efficient propulsion system at a different stage in their overall technological development. After all, it's no secret that technological advancements also happen by accident. If this is the case, the discovery may have taken their technological development in an entirely different direction, and things like supercomputers, electron microscopy, and molecular biology may be something completely foreign to them. Also, from the alien's perspective, we're the aliens. They may not have had any idea what we really are. A popular illustration of this idea is seen in several Star Trek episodes where the doctor, despite the advanced technology, isn't capable of treating an injured alien because they have no knowledge base to work from. In this context it's only logical to think that we would be farther ahead in our own medicine than aliens would be.
