St. Croix Paranormal: Investigators

After The Paracast -- Available exclusively for Paracast+ subscribers on December 29: This week, Special Correspondent William Puckett focuses on two notable cases among the sighting reports he has received. The “sighting of the week” occurred in Frackville, PA on June 29, 2019 and involved a hovering dark metallic object. William also talks about a possible abduction episode from Stout, OH, dating back to 1998, where a couple was taken aboard a UFO and given the “usual” physical examination. Ghost hunter Jill Foote-Shelley, from St. Croix Paranormal, continues the discussion that began on the December 28, 2019 episode of The Paracast. She tells about ghosts in such places as an infirmary, a “castle house,” a ship, and a dance studio.

Is There New Hope for UFO Disclosure?
By Gene Steinberg

If you’ve followed my commentaries over the years, you know that I don’t take much stock in the possibility of UFO disclosure. It’s been promised, more or less, by this person or that person, but they all seem to be crying wolf.

When I was young, I felt the UFO mystery would be solved in short order. As the decades passed, I slowly came to the conclusion that we will never know, that perhaps we were never meant to know.

Certainly, if we are not confronting physical spaceships from other worlds, something dependent on our cultural meme, a solution may never be possible. The flying saucers will always remain one step ahead, or at least seem so.

Even if the saucers are spaceships, as many believe, that doesn’t mean they won’t quit those silly cat and mouse games and sit down and have a conversation. Well, that is if you don’t accept the theories that ET has already communicated with the governments of Earth, and has been allowed to do its thing seemingly unfettered. Of course, we’d have no choice. If they are as advanced as they seem, they’d make short work of our civilization if they had any evil intentions toward us.

But if ET’s motives are benign or friendly, if contact with governments is ongoing, there might be a concerted program to gradually reveal their presence without causing panic or playing havoc with big oil and other industries.

That assumes they care one whit about us, or would even regard the powers-that-be as worthy of a conversation.

Regardless, UFOs remain a steady presence in our skies. Year after year, thousands of sightings are reported. If you haven’t had a sighting, you may not have to look too far to find someone who has seen something they cannot explain.

While some make claims about ET contact with the authorities, or with themselves, none of this is actually proven or provable. Just because someone claims or believes they have been in contact with advanced beings doesn’t explain who or what they really are. Even if they tell us, why believe them?

After all, how can we possibly understand the alien mind, unless they are, as a species, closely related to humans. But even that assumes that beings like us often become dominant on other planets, and that’s surely not a given even if the basic elements, atmosphere, and gravity are similar.

In all this, there is one more assumption, that we are seeing what’s really there. In a recent episode of The Paracast, the discussion turned to the ability to create a holographic image of a flying object. Even if we can project something in the skies, as we can, that doesn’t explain something that creates the image of a solid object on radar that can be seen, simultaneously, by witnesses. Radar/visual sightings represent classic examples of UFO evidence.

Creating solidity of that sort is beyond our technology, or at least what we know about our technology. Sure, I wouldn’t dismiss something akin to Star Trek’s “Holodeck” at some time in the future, but we are far from achieving such a capability in the foreseeable future.

For ET, well even that’s possible. What we might see solely represents the images they want us to see, something that would be more acceptable. Contacts with alleged space people or higher beings may also be done for our benefit. We have no way of knowing or understanding the force behind it.

It’s easier to accept the Star Trek and Star Wars concepts, of various intelligent beings around the galaxy looking and acting similar to humans. With few exceptions, such as the “Q Continuum” of Star Trek: The Next Generation, matter-altering entities, most of the beings are humanoid to some degree. Chewbacca, with all that hair, is still human-like in form and function. Or maybe he needs a full-scale “Nair” treatment to shed all that hair in a way where it doesn’t grow back.

If Chewbacca were relatively hairless, acting the same way as he does now in those movies, he’d be accepted as relatively normal. But it’s a fun movie schtick.

In any case, it would be encouraging to believe that there is a gradual process of disclosure going on. The Navy’s admission that they are finally taking UFOs — make that UAPs — seriously surely buttresses that impression. Yet you might wonder where they’ve been for the past seven decades, but better late than never.

Such events, and the discovery of more and more Earth-like — Goldilocks — planets out there does convey the impression that life is a given throughout the universe. Considering possibly billions of such planets out there, it’s almost a certainty that some may have spawned life, and some of those have intelligent civilizations.

Then there’s the concept of Ancient Astronauts, that ET visited us long long ago, and had some influence in our early civilization. That represents the core of “Stargate,” a movie that proved the genesis of several sci-fi TV series.

In passing, I do like the concept of a stargate, since it takes away the drudgery and dangers of traveling huge distances across space. But it does require the installation of transceivers (devices that can send and receive travelers) at the departure and arrival points. Establishing such a system would, of course, still require interstellar travel to the chosen destinations.

In any case, I would like to believe that UFO lobbyist Stephen Bassett’s latest prediction, voiced in his recent appearance on After The Paracast, that great things are in store for us in 2020 in the world of Ufology. I surely would like to see the mystery solved in my lifetime, or at least while I’m still young enough to remain relatively in touch with reality.

The spoiler is the possibility that UFOs are not physical objects in the way we understand physical, but represent some force or phenomenon that we do not understand. It could be the collective unconscious, that we are subconsciously making it up. More or less.

But you’ve heard all this before. It would be nice if Bassett’s prediction of wonderful things happening in 2020 comes true. But when you add up all his failed predictions over the years, you can still color me skeptical.
