Time is Short! Please Consider a Holiday Donation for The Paracast? Although ads help cover a small part of our expenses, the income they produce is never enough. Also, we do not receive any revenue from the ads placed on the show by our network or local stations. So we hope you're able to help fill the gap if you can to help us cover increasing server costs and other expenses -- or perhaps provide a little extra cash for lunch. No contribution is too small (or too large :). We have a Donate link on our home page, below the logo and audio player. There's also a Donate link on our forums, right below our logo. Or just send your PayPal donation direct to sales (at) theparacast (dot) com.

Attention U.S. Listeners: Help Us Bring The Paracast to Your City! Last summer, The Paracast joined the GCN radio network. This represented a huge step in bringing our show to a larger, mainstream audience. But we need your help to add additional affiliates to our growing network. Please ask one of your local talk stations if they are interested in carrying The Paracast. Feel free to contact us directly with the names of programming people we might be able to contact on your behalf. We can't do this alone, and if you succeed in convincing your local station to carry the show, we'll reward you with one of our special T-shirts, and other goodies. With your help, The Paracast can grow into one of the most popular paranormal shows on the planet!

Please Visit Our New Online Store: You asked, and we answered. We are now taking orders for The Official Paracast T-Shirt and an expanded collection of other specially customized merchandise. Can “They” Stop Disclosure?
By Gene Steinberg

The dream of most UFO researchers, and those who simply follow the subject in a more passive fashion, is for some sort of disclosure. After decades of being mystified by strange objects flying in our skies, there’s the hope for eventual vindication, that some day the governments of the world will reveal the truth. Or what they perceive to be the truth.

But what can you expect the authorities to disclose? That we are being visited by aliens, but not the kind that sneaks across the border from another country? No doubt that planet is located in another star system, since we haven’t found any evidence of advanced lifeforms in any other planet in our solar system. And I won’t consider the possibility that the Moon and Mars are being used by ET for bases, a place for their motherships to park and, perhaps, refuel from native natural resources.

Of course, the real issue is, if the authorities have actual proof of extraterrestrial visitation, and feel free to speculate all you want, is it really possible to keep such a secret for decades? Wouldn’t some whistle blower, at the end of his or her days and thus not facing any consequences, reveal the truth? But I suppose such a person would probably not want to have any surviving relatives.

Now some guests on The Paracast have suggested that the truth about UFOs is hiding in plain sight. In order to hide this truth, and prevent tell-alls from having any impact, the authorities spread lots of fake information, or disinformation, designed to lead you all astray. Such information becomes mixed with the evidence pool, and thus you cannot separate fact from fiction. You only sift through a morass of often contradictory claims, and eventually throw up your hands in disgust. Now that isn’t really such a bad idea, because you don’t have to fret and fuss about what’s truly going on. If there’s a truth that is of any significance to the human race, surely we’d learn about it before it’s too late, right?

Unfortunately, people these days don’t trust the government. Compare the situation to what pioneer UFO researcher Major Donald E. Keyhoe believed in the 1950s, when he was convinced that the military was thoroughly honest, and that legislators could always be depended upon to do the right thing.

Compare that to the current 11% approval rate of the U.S. Congress. People don’t trust them, so even if they ordered a new round of hearings about the UFO matter, few would care and accept it as anything more than a silly exercise. Besides, confronting serious levels of disapproval already, anyone signing on to such hearings would no doubt fear a landslide defeat at the next election.

But what about the U.S. President, or the leader of any other government on the planet? Would they be believed if they made a fateful announcement of ET visitation, or would the military, or the private industrialists who finance their campaigns -- at least in countries where leaders are elected in reasonably fair elections -- tell them to just shut up?

Consider the impact to our society. Sure, maybe you’d accept the presence of aliens on our planet. But what about organized religion? Sure, the Vatican has a head astronomer, but how would any religion react to the revelation that we are not alone? Would they just tell us it’s all God’s plan, that our Creator built a vast universe populated with living beings? What if ET wasn’t religious, or had religious beliefs that were very different from the ones popular on Earth?

Consider also the impact to the energy industry, knowing of a possible source of “free energy,” or the military-industrial complex, once they realized their advanced weaponry amounted to little more than primitive toys when compared to what ET could do.

Indeed, it may well be that the vested interests would do anything possible to keep such a secret as long as possible. They may even be ruthless enough to threaten physical harm if someone tries to work against the program. And, yes, I’m aware there has been speculation that some people in the UFO field, who died a little earlier than one might have expected, might have been the target of hits. But since life is so fragile anyway, it’s hard to take such suggestions seriously.

Of course, the entire concept of a global conspiracy to hide the truth about UFOs might come across as mere paranoia. How could anyone with a sound mind take such a thing seriously? So I’ll leave it at that, gentle reader. Feel free to make up your own minds as to what’s really going on, and who has guilty knowledge about it.
