This American Life

Loose Leaf Tea

Skilled Investigator
Just wanted to recommend the currently FREE and available-through-itunes episode of This American Life #319 - And the Call was Coming from the Basement!

It's a Halloween special with lots of listener tales of strange events. But the reason I'm mentioning it here is because of the first story. It dates from the early years of the last century and involves a haunted house in America with all the classic features; residents report a heavy atmosphere, unearthly sounds, flickering lights, shadowy figures, etc.
It turns out that the cause was carbon monoxide leaking into the house leading to hallucinations in the poor people living there. I'd never heard of this being a cause in any paranormal investigation and wondered if anyone else had.
Do "ghostbusters" routinely carry gas testing kits with them when investigating hauntings? Could be more useful than those EMF thingies.

(Added bonus - the wonderful David Sedaris pops up on the This American Life episode)
