Whenever I play video games such as Elder Scrolls Five: Skyrim, White Knight Chronicles, Dragon Age II.
There is a sub text of an advanced civilization that has mysteriously died out. Everyone has theories but no one has any idea about what happened to the lost civilization. It's to the point that I think the fantasy genre is the progenitor of the post-apocalyptic genre.
